  1. When you go, tell the people nearby that you have a terrible stomach virus. ;-)
  2. There is about an acre of thick moss in one of the local ponds that gets in the high 80's. I felt the moss and it was hot to the touch. Just below it (about 3 inches) felt like about 75. Top water was the key!!!!!!!
  3. One time I caught a bass.
  4. We all know about what happens when the water temps are cold. Here in NC that is when the cold means water is about 40-45 degrees. But what about in the summer months? I know bass with either "sun" or seek cover depending on how hot it gets. However there is a part in the corner of one of our local ponds that hit 90 the other day. Will the water ever get so hot that the bass will avoid it completely?
  5. Last night went with two friends on the boat. All three of us share the same serious fishing mentality. Only reason we had to head in early (just after dark) was because I had to get my daughter ice cream I promised her. :-) Had a great bassin' time!
  6. I like the tablet, iPad, and other electronic subscriptions. However there is something about having the pages in my hand to read. :-)
  7. Fantastic read! Cool to see how it all got started. :-)
  8. Can't find the link to get the info. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Just wondering how this site got started, who started it, etc. Thanks! Joe
  9. That song "I stand alone" needs to be remade into "I fish alone" Lol
  10. The main thing for me is how long I will stay on the water also. I may be out for 4-6 hours with food/drink. If the bite is slow, some people will want to give up early. Or even if we are slaying them sometimes people I fished with want to head in. I have bank fished with some folk who cut out early. I stayed. Also I give a warning, I ain't turnin' back if you get bored. :-)
  11. Is that a hula popper I see in pic #2? ;-)
  12. I live in Angier NC. Waters in the lakes and ponds have been 80-85 degrees since yesterday. Spawn is done here in the Raleigh area. I have been doing very well with frogs in the early evening.
  13. That's exercise to me!!!
  14. I would have thought 10!! Nice hog!
  15. As earlier stated, if all else fails, just go when the crowds are gone. That's a sure fire way to at least better your chances.
  16. I'm going for a 10.0 Shorter fish but that is a FAT pig. Nice beast man. I bet she put up a fight. :-)
  17. I usually like to fish alone unless it is with one of the three people on my "inner fish circle". These guys are cool, they know we stay quiet when needed and are courteous, also we all share the same sense of humor. There are others who are like, "dude, take me fishing". Those are the people who I feel like never shut up and I manage to teach them basics instead of focusing on my bite.
  18. Pressure is IMO the biggest issue with catching fish. However, waky rigged worms and swim bait minnows can serve well. Also, try and find other spots to drown a worm too. ;-)
  19. My situation was similar hooligan. Being on the water cleared my mind and I felt refreshed when I got back home. Glad your situation got better also. ;-)
