  1. i cant wear em .. at all ... i believe i loose feel if i wear gloves ... now dont get me wrong ,, if were making a run ill have gloves on ...
  2. most single glx rods cost around 400 bucks ... so yea that would be a great deal ... if anything the guy may be sponcered by loomis ... if thats the case i could see why he would sell the rods so cheap ... id be very carfull dealing with this guy ...
  3. i say the biggest difference in the rods is handle ... full cork or split ??? this is the question ... bloth blanks are close as far as feel ... i own bolth ltbs and avids ,, i like them the same ... they each have there place for my fishing
  4. sounds like you need some give somewhere ... with braid you get no give ... if your revos drag was locked down that offers no give ,,, then the rods an extra fast action ... you need some give somewhere ... and you were using a super line hook ...
  5. this year stanley has a new rigging hook ... its weighted in the front bottom ... i havent tryed one yet ,,, but they sure look like they would keep that frog up right ... this is the olny reason i prefer the zoom horney toads ,,, they run true and dont spin over and over ... just IMO
  6. check with the dnr ... i know the winnebago is open year round ... altho if fishing from shore thats a big water ...
  7. anyone using this rod ??? if so i need feed back ... i need a solid flipping stick ,, so after some reserch i think the 904x may be the ticket ... is this rod tele or one peice ??? also anyone with this rod ... what are your thoughts on this stick ??
  8. ok ,, i just wanted to hear your thoughts ...
  9. nice catches ... are you sure that glup is the reason you are catching these fish ??? or do you believe you could have caught these same fish with a non gulp product .... im not a fan of the gulp ... i love the good ol power worm myself ... i also picked up a few bags of the chigger craws ,,, so i do believe berkley makes good plastics ... however im not a fan of gulp at all .... i dont like the plastic or the way it dryes up and turns to cement on your hook .... i know small gripes ,, but its enough for me to buy other brands than gulp products ... just my thoughts ... im betting i could have sent ya out there with just about any plastic and you could have caught those same bass .... at the end of the day bait presentation will always be most important IMO ... nice fish man ,,, im in no way trying to down you are your bass ,,, just aking a few questions ...
  10. all i ever had to pay was 20 bucks for the return shipping of the new rod .... not sure where you get 50 ,, i never ever had any trouble or questions asked when i used croix warrenty .... ohh and i have used it a few times ,,, also every time i broke a rod it was my fault mainly car doors or one i rolled up in the window ...
  11. why not just get the okuma big bait spc. ??? you can get the 7ft6 med hev fast ... great swimbait sticks ,,, at a great price .... also you wont have to play that double duty ,,, you can just keep a swimbait tied on at all times .... you should really get you some mattlures baby bass bait ... its a killer here ... i have bigguns just hammer that bait ... and nice thing is you just cast it out and reel it back nice and steady ..
  12. i shy away from the mojo spinning rods ... i prefer the avid spining rods ....
  13. hey thanks for the imput guys .... i did end up getting a few bags of the chigger craws .... i think they will work fine as a trailer ... im also going to try the yum bug too tho ... from what i hear the yum bug works well so i better get a few bags .... ;D
  14. no not again
  15. hey thanks for the imput ,,, im getting this rod ... i just wanted to hear some feed back ... i tryed it at the tackle shop and to be honist i was more impressed with the 7ft6 over the 7ft med hev fast ... that 7fter has been a main stay in my rods ... ;D
  16. THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT ... thanks for the heads up ,, looks like i picked some good baits ... i cant wait for the ice to melt ... as of now i grabed a few of the red colors ,, reds seem to do well here ... i will get that blue orange tho RW thanks for the heads up ... you guys catch any smallys on the xr50s ???
  17. thanks for the info ... i just wanted to hear what the anglers here thought of the baits .... they sure look nice ,, i love the colors and good quality componits ... as far as the price its not too bad ,,, but again i just hope they catch bass .... ;D
  18. anyone here use this rod ??? if so what do you use it for ??? i may get one to use for ptiching jig and lite flipping ... keep in mind i live in WI so our thick cover here is pritty sparce compaired to down south ... also croix rods seem to be under rated as far as power gos ,,, im geussing this stick would rate out same as a heavy from other rod companys ... also the mod fast action doesnt seem much slower than the fast action .... i had the LTB big gulp flipping stick ,, but that rod was just a tank ... the gulp also had a mod fast action ... i just think the avid will be a bit more my style .... i will run 50lb suffix braid ... mainly fish jigs from 1/2-3/4ths oz ... any thoughts ??????
  19. you catching fish one these ??? or do they just look real nice ,,, cause they do look real NICE ... ;D
  20. here is the deal ... i want to try a few different baits as jig trailers ... whats better and why ???? or witch one have you tryed and what are your thoughts ???
  21. any thoughts ... i just baught 5 of these baits tonight ... i watched a basspro show where timmy horton was lighting the bass up using one of these baits ... now i know it takes hours to make a show and so on ,,, but to be honist i was watching the bass masters a while back and i watched TImmy load the boat with a fat free shad ... after that aired i tryed a few and i have to say the fatfree has become a main stay in my box ... so tonight i ran out and baught the xcals ... any thoughts ??
  22. id bet this setup would be great for small swimbaits ,,, also big shallow cranks like bomber balsa bs and dt fats ... just my thoughts ...
  23. my point is ,, most anglers will just buy a reel that fits the bill as far as what you want the reel to do ... i for one dont have the extra ching laying around to buy a new reel then switch every thing out .... if thats the case i just get the reel that was made to do what i need it to do ... so no i wouldent use the 50 for flipping id at least get the 100 .... same with cranking ,,, why not get a 200 and put a smaller spool on it ,,, then you could lower the drag ,,, and switch out the body with a 50 ,, right burley :
  24. get the size reel that will fit your fishing .... the 200 - 50 sizes are all good for bassin ,,, just depends on what you want the reel to do ... dont get a 50 and use it to flip with ,, just like you wouldent get the 200 for cranks .... botom line here the calcuttas are all good reels ,, but i cant stress enough to get the reel that suits you and your fishing ... look at line caps ,, ratio speeds ,,, and see how the reels fit in your hands .... after this you should have a better ideal of what you want as far as reel gos ...
