Flipping stick up-grade
get the avid ... they have a 7ft10inch heavy med-fast ,, flipping stick this rod is telescopic ... or they have the 7ft6 med hev mod fast ,,, this is the rod i would get .... i dont worry about power when it comes to croix ... most say croix are under rated when it comes to power ... a croix med-heavy is like most other companys heavys ... i took some time thinking about your concerns with st croix options when it comes to flipping sticks ... i had the big gulp ,, this rod is nice ... but it does have its draw backs ,,, the main one is the length of the rod .... other than that it wasnt what i was looking for ... i wanted to get a flipping stick for jigs ,, i was worried about the mod - fast action ... so after some looking ,,, im thinking of trying a zillion flipping stick .. this rod is more of what i was looking for ,, well on paper at least ... check them out they look sweet ...

I'VE HAD IT WITH SHIMANO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RANT
You mean I shouldn't use my Curado as a wheel chaulk? :-/ Nope, only Quantums are sturdy enough to drive nails, open bottles and chock wheels. are you insane ??? quantam has one of the worst finishes of all reels made ... i have a ptxm that bairly touched the boat before th e black finish was wore off ... if i were to put a reel through its paces i wouldent pick quantam ,, thats for sure ... :

I'VE HAD IT WITH SHIMANO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RANT
nothing new here ... it has been known for some time that shimano has had bail issues .... mainly with the bails ... you should send the reel to the reeel mech ... he could clean the hot sauce off the reel and then return the reel to the store ,,, if the hot sause is off they will give you a store credid ... if not send it to shimano with the sales recipt ,.... eighter way you will get a new reel or your money back ... a little word or advice ,, stick with daiwa ,,, if aint broke why fix it ??? :

St. Croix Avid Rods
for jigs and bigger t-rigs 1/2 and up i choose the 7ft med-hev fast ,, IMO a must have from the avid series ... for t-rigs and plastics up to 1/2 i choose the 7ft med fast another great rod i also like buzzbaits , shallow cranks , spinnerbaits on this rod ... these are just my choices ... i like a 7ft rod for most fishing ...

Its fall clearance time here in the northwoods!
id say the avid ,, but if you really wanted to try a new rod id try the new zillion ... they are close to the avids price point ...

The Facts Sir just the Facts...
ohh thats funny i was on that thred ... i didnt even take the price of the 2 reels into thought ... i was just wondering why you would make a post saying how full of win the new cus were ... then you have them in the fle market ... made me ask questions .... wonder ... i think thats what most of the members where thinking ... not torching a guy due to price .... ;D

daiwa vs h loomis frog rods
do not get the loomis frog rod ... IMO the worst frog stick avaible ... i dont wanna bash loomis ,, but i have no ideal what they were thinking when they made the frog rod ... get any other rod ... i made the mistake of buying the loomis ,, i wouldent wish that rod on a enemey ...

If Curado E's came in Curado D colors ....
LOL thats funny ... i geuss i just dont care about color too much ... then again i see where you may want the reel color to match the rod ... green will olny look nice on a few combos ... but even if you have your green cu on a orange carrot ,, you still have a sweet reel //LOL
-
If Curado E's came in Curado D colors ....
the color should be the least of your worrys ... the color of your reel never effects the amount of fish you catch ,, does it ??? preformace ,, what its all about ... if a reel was pink and offered great preformance ,, guys would buy them up

First impressions of my new GLX
ive read a few reviews where the new zillions are being compaired to the loomis glx ... i geuss the new zillions have a real fast taper ... to me this sounds like a killer jig / t-rig/ worm rod ... i just have to try one ... and with the price in mind they dont seem bad at all ... i also have 3 zillion reels that would love a new home found on a zillion rod ...

Mike Iaconelli rods?

First impressions of my new GLX
i want to try a loomis glx ,, but after the frog rod i purchased ,, no way ... i dont want anything to do with loomis ... not bashing them ,, just dont feel they have what im looking for .. i know they have a cult following .. but to be honist i really never see anyone fishing a loomis any loomis for that matter ... ill stick to my ol st croix they are fine for me ... i may add a few zillion rod to my arsonal ... ;D

Is this a good jig setup?
i really like the st croix avid 7ft med hev fast action .... this rod is great for jigs .... it has great feel ,, great power ( remember a croix med-hev is like a heavy from most other rod co.. ) and a nice crisp fast action .... all great points for a jig rod to have ... i run braid on mine and mainly fish 1/2-3/4 oz jigs ...

Flippin' Combo!!
I bought a Daiwa TD-X!! Oh, yeah...the zillion rods! What about them?? And I saw also the Mike Iaconelli Signature series!! They look pritty good! But I never heard something about their quality! Can you help me?? Thanks a lott!! i cant tell you much about these rods ... but you may wanna give natural a pm ... he has 5 of these rods he really seems to like the rods ... i read that the ike rods were heavier than the zillions and didnt ballance as well ,,, i dont know anything other than what i have read here ... give natural a pm ,, hes a good guy ,, im sure he can give you any input you need ...

St Croix LTB spinning rods
dont worry about the cork ... the ltb is made on a killer blank ... thats what you are paying for ... i love the avids .. they are made on sc3 graphite ... the ltbs are sc4 graphite ,, tough as nails but offer great feel ... i bet you will love your rod ... i dont have any of the spinning ltb rods yet ,,, YET ... i have my eye on the 7ft med fast tube rod ...

St. Croix rod problems
what does that have to do with the quality of a rod or its preformance ... im not sure what your issue is with st croix ,,, but the fact of the matter is ,, st croix is one of the best rods made ... st croix has a great warrenty ,, they do take good care of there customers ... so again not sure what your problem is ??? but im pritty sure we all know where you stand on st croix ,, you have olny made 6 comments on this post alone ... we get it muddy ,, you dont like st croix .... that doest make these rods suck ... again one of the best domestic rods on the market ... if you are having a issue with the rod eyes on a premiere ,, id suggest giving st croix a call .. they will take care of you .... or use the trade in trade up program and move up to the avid ... they offer many different options ... ;D
-
St. Croix rod problems
i havent fished a premiere in 3 years or so ..... however i never lost a eye incert or had any trouble for that matter ... in fact the 3 premieres i had i sold to different friends ,,, they all still fish these rods ,, without any trouble ...

St. Croix or Fenwick in the price range???
Mike bat is your Avid the newer model? and if so how stiff is it for being a med-heavy rod i have the older modle ... i havent had a chance to fish the new one yet ... however i do have a few friends that have the new ones ... they really like thier rods ... i believe the olny difference is ipc .... im sure the new ones are as good ,, more than likly better than the older modle ... as for the med-hev fast ,, its a great stick ... plenty of power ,, and it does have a fast taper ... they are pritty fast sticks ... i use the med-hevs because i tend to fish in and around cover ... i also like tossing jigs that are around 1/2oz ... the avid had a great back bone so jig sets are nice ... some may prefer the med ,,, im sure thats a great stick too ... but for what i like to do the med-hev fast is a must have ... i toss alot of t-rigs ,, jigs ,, senkos in heavy cover ... this rod is sweet ....
-
St. Croix or Fenwick in the price range???
depending on what you wanna do ... that avid 7ft med hev fast ,,, is a must have IMO ... i love mine for jigs ,, plastic...

st.croix Triumph rod
i dont know if i agree with that ^^ .... i fish st croix and really like the rods ... to be honest i dont fish the trumph for 2 reasons .... 1 i want to make sure im buying rods that are supporting guys here in WI ( i mean if im buying a croix ) ... 2 i prefer the better warrenty ... other than that ,, the stick isnt bad ... from what i understand its built on a scII blank .... solid componits on that blank ... for the price it should be a great stick ... it also comes with a 3 year warrenty i believe ... again at that price ...
