i have the 7ft6 heavy its a good stick for the price ,,,, however you may wanna look at the dobyans 795 ,,, its a little more money but i hear its a great stick for the smaller stuff ,,, its 7ft9 med-hev Mike Long helped design it ...

the tips are mod ( or soft ) they are great cranking sticks ... as for them compairing to the triumph ,,, you cant do it ,, the two rods are entirely different the LTs are almost the croix rod made the triumph is made in china and to me is a sappy imitation of a premiere :

'st croix offers 3 cranking sticks in the series ,,, the rod on top of the pic is the big cranker ( 7ft med-hev mod ) ... then they have 2 more cranking sticks ,,, i olny have the big cranker but i like it so far

i would like to point somthing out here .... all the pride fighters that come to the ufc have lost there 1st fight ... some say its a hard adjustment fighting in the cage .... since ive been watching i believe rampage was the olny fighter to come from pride and win his first ufc fight ,,,, that fight wasnt rampages best fight eighter .... i watched hendo come over here and get mobbed on ,,,, also wanderlay .... bolth guys are better fighters IMO .... now wanderlay has his first ufc win under his belt ,,, watch out dont let him get too used to winning .... if wanderlay gets a couple more wins he will be right in the mix .....

wooo ... lets not get carried away here ,,, 1st rampage was and is still a champ ... he got in the ring / cage with the best of the best and won more times then not .... i dont even want to get into the fact that the pide organization has some of the best fighters out there .... also ask your self why does Dana White always go after Pride fighters ??? ill tell ya to get the better fighters over in the ufc ... so lets not get carried away ,,, im not tryin to take anything from forest at all ,,, but the fact of the matter is hes not the best 205 out there .... hes a good 205 but not the best ,.... IMO he had a good night and beat the champ ... thats it ,,, kinda like when matt serra beat GSP ,,,, no love loss but serra got lucky .... Rampage will get the rematch ,,, after the loss i bet he has the answer ... and if he loses again then griffen will lose the belt to the likes of jarden ( who has already beat him ) or chuck or hendo or wanderlay ( who some would say is the best at 205 bar none ,,, he also beat rampage twice ) or even rashad ..... if this happens geuss who will come along to ****** that belt back ,,, thats right Rampage ... also after reading your post i will tell you rampage did in fact drop more than one guy on his head ,,,, it was more like 7 guys ,,,, dont quote me but it was way more than 1 .... again i dont wanna take anything away from forrest ,,, he faught a smart fight and won ....thats just life and thats what i enjoy about the fight game ,,, you win some and lose some ... but to say rampage is anything other than one of the best 205s to grace the cage /ring is silly .... see rampage faught the best of the best that pride and ufc had to offer ,,, as said before he won more times than not ...

also you will want to use some kind of braid .... if that suffix has any strech the bass will simply hold that frog till after you set the hook then spit it out .... with braid you can slam that hook home .... im not sayin you need 50lb for that kind of frog ,,, but id get 30lb at least ....

hey bronze ,,, what line are you running on that rod ??? also have you hooked into a biggun with that rod yet ... i bet that rod really fights the fish good ....

yea i thought Rampage was going to take this fight ,,,, i was wrong ... but Forrest was smart and faught this fight smart .... Forrest really dictated the fight with that leg kick .... as far as the exchanges i really believe Rampage won almost every striking exchange .... there was a couple times in the fight rampage stopped forrest dead in his tracks with a powerful strike ,,, even backed him up on a couple .... Rampage should have checked those kicks .... as for rampage not being able to go 5 rounds he did in this fight and also the fight with hendo .... theres no doubt in my mind about Rampage and training .... im sure due to the contract rampage will get the rematch before any one els gets to fight forrest .... the crazy fight on this card was the KOS fight ,,, i never seen anyone bleed like that before .... that was crazy ...

now i have to get the tube ,,, i was thinking of that finess rod .... but the tube sound like the rod i need .... ;D

well i use 17lb cxx on my calcutta 251 ,,, i get around 100yds on there and its more than enough .... the 251 has a solid drag system ,,, to me this is a fine reel for swimbaits ohh also not all swimbaiters are from cally ,,,, so not all swimbaiters have a shot at a 10lb pluse bass .... since this is the case for me i see no need for 25lb test ....

i use a calcutta 251 ... i love this reel for swimbaiting .... i have it on a okuma 7ft6 heavy fast .... its sweet ...

i always look in the bargin bins ,,, sometimes theres good stuff in there ,,, pluse i spent so much money on gear ( reels and rods ) i have no other way to baits .... theres good stuff in there ... i picked all my tru tungston outta a gander mt bargin bin ,,, as well as stone jigs ,,, manns cranks ,, spro cugging mino ,,, 10inch power worms ,,, the list gos on .... ;D

mono will work fine ,,, remember mono does have stretch to it ... if you plan on useing a mono id suggest going with a 15-17lb test at least .... co poly is what i use also flour would be great too ... eighter way you go get 15lb test at least ... it will aid in a rock solid hook set ... if you have fished a jig you will know how important a solid hook set is .... i know guys around here use 20lb for jigs ,, i myself believe thats extreme ... but to each his own i geuss

well in that case a 7ft med hev fast would do the job just fine ... you can also run t-rigs on this same rod .... just check into rod ratings ,, by company .... i use st croix rods ,, my 7ft med-hev fast /// most would say is more like a 7ft heavy fast of most other rod companys ... if that makes cents to you .... in other words different companys have different standards by rating thier sticks ...

a 7ft stick is just fine for most jigging .... im useing a 7ft med-hev fast rod ... does just fine ... now if you wanna flipp alotta slop then a 7ft6 would be the ticket ... however for most jigging the 7ft is just fine ...

i had a 99 jetta .... i loved that car ... i put a ton of miles on that thing ,, all i ever did was oil changes ....

ill tell ya what ,, i baught a couple energy pts back in the day ... the black ones ptxm /// bolth made bad noise on the cast .... i found out that there werent properly lubed when they came from the factory ,,, get a tube of hot sause ,,, lube that sucka up .... the noise should stop ... now days every reel i buy ,,, i lube before i make the first cast ...

not sure about the falcon ?? but i will tell you the other 2 rods you have listed are 2 totaly different sticks ... the avid is graphite where the skeet reese is a glass rod .... i dont wanna open the whole graphite is better than glass or vice versa can of worms here :-?... its a matter of what you feel better fishing ...

wait a sec... i love my LTBs ,,, i aint selling any of those .... i just hear all the talk about the GLX so i thought why not try one ;D
