  1. I can't get that whwee she works. The rods I listed are the the two options that I know of.
  2. I could really use some more opinions. I'm heading out to get it today!
  3. Casting two handed allows for me to cast farther, but I also feel like I am more accurate when I cast two handed. But I do cast one handed at times too, although it feels to me as if I have less control of the rod.
  4. My intention of the posts was just to joke around, that's why there was laughter within them. I'm thankful to just be able to fish. Getting more gear is just a bonus. The chance to win is apreciated.
  5. If there's a TON of stuff, why not share it with all the youm g anglers who can't afford it lol.
  6. Split it between all of us? Lol
  7. Ok thanks. I'm not clear on what flipping is yet but I will look it up.
  8. Hey guys, my girlfriend works at dunhams so she gets a discount on everything. This month she gets an extra discount on top of that for fishing products. I figured I would use this to get the frogging setup I have wanted. Here are my options. Berkley Lightning Rod Shock- 7'6 Heavy Pros- Heavier rating, Cheaper Cons- Longer split grip, No idea if its F or MF or XF Abu Garcia Veritas- 7'6 MH F Pros- Shorter Split Grip, Lighter, Cons- More expensive, Quality control, Only rated MH I didn't see any others. But I didn't know which one to choose. I fish some pretty heavy slop. I throw Pad Crashers and Buzzfrogs mainly. Can these rods be used for other presentations also? I plan on spooling it with #65 braid also. Thanks, Christian
  9. I went to Lowes and got outdoor carpet, it came in a few colors. I got grey.
  10. Good to know. Thanks.
  11. Thanks a lot guys! I know it was a bad day of fishing but it was still fun. I cought a 3+ lber. My next set up will be for this technique. I wasnt using the right gear and I knew it, but I didn't have another option. I did have the frog hooked up right though. Thanks again.
  12. I'm using yum buzzfrogs. And I will try letting them have it a little more next time.
  13. I have been fishing the algae matts at my local creek. I only hooked onto one fish and landed it. All if the others either missed the frog when I was dragging it across the matts, or I missed the hookset. 3/4 of the time it was just the fish completely missing the bait, the other few times I just missed the fish. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I went like 1/25 on hookups today.
  14. Okay thanks.. I'm just doing bench seats, not the whole boat carpeted. And I can't get the truck bed liner paint in any other color.. I guess il have to go another route.
  15. 16fr Mirro Craft deep fisherman. Its aluminum.
  16. Lol. I need answers on the inside more than the outside. Please!
  17. I have almost finished stripping my boat of all its old awful paint. Now I have to do a little bit of body work then I'm ready to send it in to gget painted. My biggest question is if my choice for the inside was a good idea. I wanted a textured paint so he suggested the truck bed coating paint thinned with some water. This will allow me to have a tough paint that goves me grip for when I'm fly fishing. Here are my concerns -will it hurt my gear -will it hurt my line -will it get too hot Also haven't decided on what color to paint the outside. I'm not a fan of red, but what colcolors do you think?
  18. The textured GPX is a nice line.
  19. I have only heard bad things about that line. It will tear up your fingers pretty bad. I went with the pike/ musky router on my 8wt.
  20. Is the Stx a Gen 3? If so I have heard a lot of bad things about that series. But for the Okuma I have heard some good things, many seem to have overlook it, but really liked iy when they tried it. I'd give Okuma a chance.
  21. It will most likely have corrosion resistant components and a little more backbone. But if I remember right that's about it.
