  1. Hm.. berkley cherrywood or lighting rod shock are great rods with many different actions and lengths. They will run you between $25-$50. You could also look at a shimano sellus, which I have no experience with but I have heard good things about. You may also be able to find a good deal on a higher end rod with the labor day sales coming up. Good luck!
  2. I can't recommend a specific reel in that price range, but personally I would look for a reel with a tight drag if you plan on pulling fish out of the slop.
  3. Hey guys, within the next few days I'm heading over to the Barkley Dam in Kentucky. I have never fished for striper let aalone amything in this state. I would just like you to educate me on how to fish for them. I was told there's a pretty good current and the water is fairly clear with a rocky bottom. Thanks in advance.
  4. I like a 2500 size for my spinning gear. As for line, it depends on what it is. I spool up with 6# yo zuri hybrid that breaks at #12. I also like a #6 diameter braid. Its more personal preference.
  5. I like them for little rooster tails and tiny lures like that for panfish and small bass. Its a lot of fun.
  6. I have an angling backpack, its not as convenient as this cart will be if it works right.
  7. There's wheels on the back. You can't see them there's two skateboard wheels on each side.
  8. I know I need to upgrade the tires. Cant wait to test it out.
  9. Couldnt have said it any better.
  10. Thanks, I hope so too. I think il test it out tomorrow.
  11. Because it allows me to have more technique options. Why do people have more than one rod on their boat? Quick access and better presentations.
  12. Well, i got tired of carrying around all of my fishing gear, only bringing one or two rods, and not having all of my tackle. Because of this i decided to construct my own fishing cart. It holds three rods, tackle, and whatever else I may need. I spent 0$ on this project because i just used some of the items that were laying around in my garage. I have no idea if it will be functional or useful yet, but the idea seemed to be good. Hopefully i made myself a nice little accessory. What are your thoughts?
  13. Thanks for the help guys il try it later!
  14. I can only speak for the veritas, but I got mine for $65. I love it, especially for the money.
  15. Just dI'd what your looking to do. I got a 7'6 MH Veritas, which has a ton of backbone. The reel I put on it was an Abu Garcia ProMax. I like this reel because not only does it cast very well, but its a 7.1:1 ratio, and has a lock down drag. The high gear ratio and long rod allows you to pick up slack line fast. I use this set up for jigs too. Pair it with some #50 PP and your good to go. This set up works great for me, even in super heavy slop. Hope this helps. Christian
  16. I undid the drain screw and a jet black oil came out, I think it might have been a tad milky. The other was a grey thick substance coming out of the exaust.
  17. Today while running my motor to run some carb cleaner through it it began to leak some oil. Some of it was thick and grey, the other was pitch black. When the exaust was coming out it would ahoot out some oil gunk too. I knew I had to change the lower end oil but haven't got to it yet. I drained all the oil and took the prop off, it doesn't look like any oil is leaking at the prop shaft, but is coming down from the inside of the lower unit. When I stick my finger up into the unit I get water and oil, not a ton of water, but its there. Any info on how to fix this would be great. Thanks.
  18. If you can shell out ten dollars you get the pro max, I'm really happy with mine. Its held up good, its smooth, plus it casts great. The drag is more than solid, I use mine for froging, and its held up great. I would recommend looking into it. Christian
  19. Compression in both are good. Already checked that.
  20. Mine has the shorter transom. Its a 1978 MirroCraft Deep Fisherman.
