  1. Just what length you use, and maybe comment on why you like that length.
  2. 5' UL Berkeley Cherrywood is what I use. $28
  3. That's tempting.. If its better than the last one.
  4. In my opinion a 4000 is overkill, by a lot. A 2500 size should suite you perfectly.
  5. I believe another good knottable wire option is called tiger wire. I use my to fly fish musky, double surgeons loop on both ends, attach the main line to one loop and a swivel to the other. Works great! I use 40lb btw.
  6. For pike I would use a heavy mono or flour leader, another option is knottable wire.
  7. I dont know about the Compre, but even the Crucial seemed tip heavy to me when I handled it.
  8. I dont know how much you want to spend, but for a beginner spinning rod why not a Ladies Ugly Stick GX2, its pink, tough, and will be good for her to learn on. No need to worry about her stepping on it or closing the door on it or other mishaps. And if she doesnt do well with it your not at much of a loss and can save it for later.
  9. Mine does, that's where I handled one. Very impressive rod by the looks of it.
  10. I got my hands on one, really liked it a lot. I think that very well may be my next rod. As long as i stay true to myself and don't pick up a Legend Tournament Bass.
  11. They said its by like Cancun. So lets just go with Cancun.
  12. Quick question, is a each piece of a two piece rod exactly half the total rod length? So if you had a 7' rod each piece would be 3.5'?
  13. So today my spring break vacation has been booked, Riviera Maya, and I believe I have access to a beach, so we all know what that means. I'm looking for a rod I can fit in a suitcase, with a reel, just something that will get the job done. I've never done this in my life, I have zero guidance so far, so I am counting on you guys. Any info on the rod and reel, or how to fish there. Il be there six days, so I'm looking for a budget combo, looks like il have to spend around $120? Baits? Heck, if someone had a really old combo they didn't want anymore I'd even be interested in buying that. I do have a 10wt saltwater fly rod that I use for musky, and I have saltwater line from when I went to Florida, would I be better off with that? Really any info at all would be helpful, thank you!
  14. You guys both do it different, and there both great examples of ways to do it. Thats exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks.
  15. I've read about it, I've wanted it, and I've finally got some. I have my new T3 Ballistic to spool up with 15lb Seaguar InvisX, and I plan on using my new KVD L&L. Like most products I'm guessing everyone uses it a little differently and has their own tips and tricks. What's your favorite way to use KVD L&L?
  16. For the price of some PVC you could ship the rods down there through USPS or something if you really want your own rods. Otherwise I would just pack a few of your own reels in your bag.
  17. UPDATE: DOES NOT NEED TO BE FROM BPS! Knowing this now, I'm going to assume a dobyns champion is my best choice? I've heard a lot of good things about them.
  18. Il make aure to do that. Merry Christmas to you too!
  19. That's more feedback then I have heard yet on the tatula, I will definitely look at that one in store, seems like a great value.
  20. That's my biggest issue, jigs are new to me, so I domt really know. I use trailers and everythimg so I have to almost guess on my final weight.
