Baitcaster Brakes??
All my reels that I have at that price range are tuned to where they don't backlash. I get great distance out of my pro max and I don't even have to thumb the spool.

New Reel, What's Recromended??
Inches Per Turn. The length of line the reel picks up per every turn of the handle.

I Got Nothing At Bps, Again
I totally feel you. I got my PS3 the year after it came out. I haven't purchased a game in over two years. They are all the same at this point. You can only put a new title on COD so many times... Now its just used for netflix:) Buy the six new games that come out next month... or that set up I have been eyeing for a while.. That answer is easy.

First Time Getting A Baitcaster
I have heard the BPS pro qualifier/ Carbonlight is a great combo that is in your price range.

Soft Plastic And Weighted Hook
If he said drag it across the bottom, I would try that first. If that didn't work after a while then I would try to use a new method of fishing it. Im glad to hear that he helped you out though!

Why Dont We See??
They do make different size casting reels... for low profile there's 50, 100, 200, and 300 sizes in the low profile reels. Then round style reels go even higher like size 400.

Glass Rod Question
I like to use one of mine for spinnerbaits sometimes. Just make sure you use a low stretch line.

Glass Rod Question
Treble hook baits, it keeps the fish pinned.

How Do You Determine What Length Rod For A Kid?
I think its more of what they are capable of managing. If they are struggling to keep the tip up and cast, its probably too long. I would stay under 6'6", and most likely stay around 6'.

Should I Buy This Bass Raider 10E
I %100 agree. Im the same age, and was in almost the same situation. I have a 16ft aluminium deep v, bough an outboard, and right now I am in the process of restoring the whole thing. Trust me on this, take the hour or two to lear and practice launching the boat by yourself, it will make your experience fishing in a boat a lot better in the long run. Best of luck, Christian

Which Spinning Reel Size For Finesse Bass Fishing?
Personally I would probably go with the 200. I fish 2500 size shimanos. With the 200 your combo should balance well.

Any Other Reels Like This?
I'm about % 95 sure some of them are. Atleast the spinning reels. They very closely resemble them.

Help Picking
By the sounds of it all those reels are on sale, not regularly that price. For $35 a pro max is a great deal. I don't know about the other two.

I Still Use A Old Vintage Lews Speed Spool Made By Shimano
II have a pro max, its served me well this season. I like how it casts, the brakes work well, and it wasn't a bad buy for $80. Its a good reel if that is what you can afford, I was in a similar position.

Question, Because I Need Some Help.
Start with one, find out what you like and don't like about the rod and reel, then pick the next set up. That's my vote.

A Little Help? I Know Nothing.
If this helps at all, my brother takes his 14 ft mirrocraft deep fisherman on Lake St. Clair and I take my 16ft mirrocraft deep fisherman out on that same lake. Thats a fairly large body of water, and if your smart about the weather and hownto drive a boat they do just fine. Both have 25's on them.

Why I Use A Leader ......
I know that they can be an issue for bass fisherman but that seems a little careless. Theyre part of the ecosystem just like all the other fish. Plus you dont even know if its legal. You should probably at least educate yourself before doing things like that. Just my 2 cents.

What Fishing Rules Do You Have That Might Be Different ?
If you don't bring snacks on the boat it will be a bad day of fishing. Therefore. Bring snacks, or just don't go.

Rod For Those Giant Swimbaits
If you go on Tackle Warehouse they have a whole section dedicated to swimbaits. It looks like IRod makes a rod that would work for giant swimbaits, as does Okuma and a few other brands.

Steel Leaders???
If your looking to use steel leaders I would do what we do for fly fishing musky. Buy what they tieable steel leader, its really coold stuff. Use a double surgeons loop to tie your lure on, it will allow it to have great action. I can't say I would use a steel leader for topwater. Instead of steel we sometimes use high pound test flouro instead. This sinks so its a definite no no for topwater. Instead my choice would be to use a high quality high pound test mono. I mean high pound. Like for musky we use #80-#100 test. It will float, be clear, and almost always brings in the toothy that's on the end of the line. If there's some abrasion just re-tie. With either leader you choose, doing some type of looped knot will help with the action of the lure. Good luck. Christian

Shakespear Medium Action
That gives me an idea.. I have a rod I could part with if you want it. Its a 5'6 MH XF Shimano Clarus. I'd sell it to you within your price range and its practically brand new. Pm if your interested. It doesn't see much use in my line up.

S- Glass Rods
Hey guys, I have two of those rick clunn s- glass series rods and was just curious to what I should use them for. One is the 6'6 MH jerkbait model and the other is 7' M lipless crank rod. I thought maybe spooks for the Jerkbait model rod and possibly small spinner baits for the lipless crank rod. It doesn't have enough backbone to rip lipless cranks through grass. But I have two questions I'm looking for anwers for. What is the ideal presentation for each rod. And would a graphite rod do those presentations better?
