French Translation On Lures?
Actually Rapala started in Finland, and I believe distributed out of Finland up to 2005. Finland has two official languages: Finnish and Swedish. They first distributed from Finland to Sweden and Norway. I'm no geography expert since I failed the class in high school so many times, so I'm not sure about Norway but Sweden's official minority language is Finnish. They did sign a distribution agreement to Denmark and France, but they were still distributing from Asikkala, southern Finland.

Awesome setup! Can you take a picture of one of your boxes?

Engine Takes Forever To Get Started
definitely not the battery with them symptoms, if the battery didn't have enough cranking amps to crank the motor, it wouldn't start at all, and by attempting to crank it over, it will then take more juice from the battery, making it have even less cranking amps due to a dying battery

Ever Catch A Fish Off A Snag?
Not "get a fish off a snag" but "get a snag off a fish" Last year my dad casted near a log and a bunch of branches. He got a fish and it jumped over everything and tangled the whole line. It was a good 3 lber, it took about 15 minutes to get it with the net.

Why Smallmouth?
No need to get cocky, it was a simple legitimate question. And you obviously don't have a good answer, so please keep your remarks to yourself.
-
Why Smallmouth?
Just the fact that there are a lot of "what bait should I use for smallmouth?" topics. So you are saying smallmouth give more of a fight than largemouth?
-
Why Smallmouth?
Just wondering why you guys would rather fish only smallmouth. I like largemouth and smallmouth.

Free Trokar Hooks!
Catch anything yet? These hooks are way sharp. I'm sure if you are trying to get over a log and the hook even touches it, you'll be hung up.

Free Trokar Hooks!
Same, I use the Gamakatsu EWG hooks. Their website isn't working right so I can't check to see what the price was on them, but I probably won't be buying them because they were expensive (if I remember right) compared to Gamakatsu.

Free Trokar Hooks!
I got one of the packages - a sticker and (5x) 4/0 EWG hooks. I fish 4/0s with flukes and senkos.

Rapala Clackin Crank Reviews
I just got back from Gander. I wanted both the Helsinki Shad and Red Crawdad but only had enough for one.. picked up the Helsinki. I really wanted both I was having a rough time deciding if I should put something else back on the shelf lolI was at Sportsman Warehouse yesterday and picked up two 2.5 Strike King KVD Square Bill Cranks in Sexy Shad and Bluegill. The first crank I'm going to try is definitely the Clackin' Crank. I love how this lure looks.

Can Swim Jig Success Lead To More Confidence In A Flippin Jig?
I think the fact of being confident in using a jig at all will boost your confidence in flipping a jig.

Where To Start?
Try top water, in my opinion it's the most exciting. Once you cast it and let it sit for a few seconds, BAM, a big splash with a fish on the bait. I rarely ever cast from land, usually on a boat, but the last time I was out (last year) they hit it pretty good. My #1 go-to top water is a Rapala Shallow Shad Rap in Shad color. I have about 9 in my tacklebox. I use either the 2.75 or 3.5 inch.. whatever the biggest size Walmart and Gander has. When I fish top water, I cast it and let it sit for at least 3 seconds, up to 10 seconds depending how the fish are. After that, I twitch it once and wait a few more seconds, do that for about 3 twitches or so. If there's a fish, it will almost always hit the bait during the drop of the lure or right after the twitch. Sometimes when they aren't hitting top water, I will cast and let it sit for a few seconds then reel it in about mid speed, I sometimes find that they'd rather chase it than to hit top water, but mostly it's top water. There are probably better top water baits out there but this is my best lure in the tacklebox for where I fish for the past 3 years. This lure for me where I fish produces small and large mouth bass from 7 inches to 24 inches (my PB), and I've had quite a few big sunfish on it and one angry turtle. I think my dad caught a pike on it before, it was probably around 8in, little baby pike. All in all, it'll be good experience to try if you want quantity over weight.

Rapala Clackin Crank Reviews
I have to get a couple of these. The reviews are awesome. I'm a top water Rapala guy, I don't fish crankbaits, so, if I get a 5ft one, is it easy to retrieve at 3ft if needed by just retrieving slower? thinking about the 2" 5/16oz 5ft.. red craw and helsinki shad.

Anyone Shakey Jig?
Would you rather shakey with a floating or sinking worm? I have some Zoom Finesse June Bug color, pretty old but never opened it, not sure if they sink or float.. wondering if I'd catch anything with it... or maybe some D&M 5" or 7″ Finesse Floating worms.

A New Pb ~ And Then Another !
I've always wanted to fish SML and James River. We have 2 boats but my truck doesn't have a hitch so usually we take my dad's truck on Fri - Sun we go to Carvins Cove. I live off Williamson / 10th St.We bought a 16 or 17 ft boat for $600 last year, has a great running 85hp (or 115hp, can't remember, only took the boat out once last year) mercury (had to rewire the starter and put a new spark plug in) and a 55 lb trolling motor with foot pedal, 2 live wells, 2 GPS, and a radio in the steering console. It's not a bass boat but it's close enough considering it was cheap as dirt.
