Which Camera For My Boat
Another option which I am working on is get a skeleton case for the GoPro and plug it into a 12v outlet so it stays powered the whole fishing trip. No need to replace batteries. Only down side is that it then is no longer 100% waterproof with that housing on it. But will do just fine in the rain.

Tackle Shop Question
Im both a customer and businness. I turned my rod building hobby into a business 2 years ago and like others have said, plan on being in the red for awhile untill you get on your feet and clinetel built up. Its taken my these past 2 years to get my name out locally and for my business to pick up. I have a full time job elsewhere that pays my bills. No way I could survive on bulding rods at this point. You need to find what you can do to make yourself stand out from the other stores and online places. I live on a large lake and have seen small tackle stores come and go. The only 1 that can stay open is the only one that is actually on the water. They have a wide diversity of products which helps them thrive. They have dock slip rentals, boat rentals, the owner is a Guide on the lake, they have dockside gas pumps, all this ontop of the retail bait and tackle store. I like going there becuase he has brought me business and he himself is a customer of mine. He has always helped with any fishing quesions ive had and helped me out on some info to place well in a couple of tournaments. One thing you might want to consider is if there is a large live bait crowd get into that side of things. Drawing customers in to get live bait will also help those customers to buy other products. Wish you the best of luck in your endevors

10Ft Yak Big Enough To Fish And Camp Out Of?
Really depends on the weight rating of the yak, the size of you and the size of all your gear. To some people camping is taking an air mattress or cot with a car camping type tent and carry a 2 burner propan colman stove. Now my type of camping when in the back woods is as light as possivle. I carry all ultra light back packing gear and have no problem on my Ride 115. But then again the RIde is wide and hase a large capacity.

Winter Clothing - Outerwear
Its going to be a personal preferance. Everyone gets cold at differnt temps. Especially if you live in one climate and travel to another. My brother used to live in FL and when he came home at christmas he couldnt stand the cold and I was out in jeans and a sweatshirt. For me I wount even consider them if its above 40. If its above that its my gortex bibs and jacket over top of jeans and Sweat shirt. This time of year its hard becasue mornings are cold but come 10 Im striping layers off as the sun gets up. NOw come December - Feb its artic armor for sure as not only does it cold but it stays windy on the water as well.

Manufacturers Decals For My Jeep, Tackle Box And Possibly For My Boat
Like others have stated its a money thing. I know as a small business my decales cost me 90c each last time i got a qoute. And add the postage which is 35c there's $1.25. But like also stated above they budget for it, at least I do. Ive run into the same problem with one of my partnered companies. I asked every week for a 2 months if they could send me a couple of stickers to put on my boat and truck even getting the responce of they will go in the mail tomoroow. But they never show up. It comes down to what is more important for them as a company and that is profit. For a companie like i am tlkaing about its more important for them to stay afloat to make that $100 profit than sticking a couple of decaels in the mai.

Fishing Weedy Lakes
For our lakes in here in VA its soft bottom shallows for spawning beds. We dont have weeds thanks to the Rich Yuppies that want a clear lake so they put non native species in the lake such as grass carp to clear out all vegitaion. We do have a ton of docks and laydowns. Most beds are along the shallow parts of the back of the docks and area's around submurged logs shallow.

A Rig Questions
The lake I fish the most we typically start seeing better success once the water temp drops to 60 or below.

My Pfd Testimonial.
Thanks for sharing and glad you are ok. Nothing to be embarrassed about one bit. Things like this happen way to often and we don't take the time to recognize it like you have. We fish year round here even when its snowing and ice out. Some of the best striper fishing in the winter time. For years I was one of those that felt that I was a great swimmer being on swim teams all through my upbringing and love the water so I never bothered with wearing them as they were to bulky and didnt feel comfortable and did not want to spend the money on an inflatable. That changed the begining of this year one of our local striper guides sliped off the front deck of his boat fully dressed in his winter gear this past January. He sank straight to the bottom. Thankfully this happened only a couple of yards from shore. He literally walked along the bottom to shallower water where he could stand with his head above water. Had he been in deeper water his story might not have been the same. Someone else mentioned a couple of posts ago about it keeping your body afloat so you are easier to find and recover. This summer a man was sailing on a small sailboat on our lake with his family in a ski boat 50 yards away. They turned their back to him for a split second and when they turned around he was missing. They have yet to find his body and this happened this past July. The suspicion is that he had a heart attach and fell over board. Had he been wearing a PFD he might of been saved let alone his body been easily recovered. Ever since our local striper guide incident I went out and spent the money on new insulated bibs and parka for winter fishing. They are designed for Ice fishing. They float you just like a survival suit due to they type of insulation used. I also spent the money on an inflatable PFD and wear it all times.

Baitcaster Flouro Issues For Me
Ive always used mono or braid with FC leader. I tried going straight FC on one of my rods over the weekend using Segar blue lable. I went through the whole spool in knots, kinks, and back lash's. I think I will be sticking with the braid and FC leader.

Hooked Hull
never heard of it till now. Glad its getting taken care of. LIke others say pictures if possible would be great so we can see what it looks like. I have to agree with Sam, the Richmond BPS is horrible. Only reason why I go to it is if I have to be over that way for work and its only to browse the fishing section.

Best Electronics Setup?
If only one side imaging unit then at the console. It works best at speeds between 3 and 8 MPH. At least that is what I have come to find on mine. I use Hummingbird for my side imaging and havent had any issues with it. Main reason being Ive had it since Hummingbird was the only one to have side imaging. Lowrance has come a long way though and if I have to replace mine I might have to take a harder look at lowrance.

Worm Boxes?
Ive been thinking over the same problem. Right now I keep them in their orginial bags and placed in Tupper ware boxes. A little to bulky and space consuming for my likeing. Have been thinking about putting them into plano boxes but have read mixed things on that method.

Morality Questions
IF i mount any fish its a replica. Take the pictures and measurements. I do keep fish to eat but not bass. Either stripers, catfish, or salwater fish and all within the legal limits. No way I keep any fish outside of the legal limits even if I know I am not going to get caught. Back in the water goes to become food for something else.

Weekend Small Pond Fishing
Went camping over the weekend and fished a couple of days Weather was ideal, cloudy with drizzle, a slight breeze and the lower 60's Friday took my little girl fishing at the campground pond and the river that flows along its property. We caught a ton of trout. All cought on inflated nightcrawlers and garlic powerbait. Sunday went to a local pond with the yak and did some fishing for green fish for 3 hours. Did pretty good. Only thing I could get them to bite was a Zman Chatter Bait in white with a Lake Fork shad in white as a trailer. Fished over top of grass and weed beeds. 4 landed in the yak with over a dozen more hooked up but lost at the side of the yak. Dont know if it was poor hooks? I was setting the hook as hard as I could without rolling out of the yak.

Do You Risk Not Getting A License?
I buy a liscence anytime I travel and fish. Its not worth the fine or any other penalities. And on my home lake I get stopped all the time and one of the first things they ask for is to see you liscence. I have a budy who was bank fishing and did not have a one and they finned him and took his gear.

How Would You Go About Fishing This?
Id try it in a couple of different ways. First Id try nose hooking them, then texas riged with no weight, then with a swim bait style hook with the weight formed on the shaft of the hook, then on a jig head.

How Would You Go About Fishing This?
Have you tried a Zoom Super Fluke? Try one in white or pearl ice. First try weightless, then if that doesent work put it on a jig head and swim it back, then if that dosent work try bouncing it along the bottom. Super Flukes is almost all we use when targeting stripers with artificial.
