Not The Best Day At The Lake... Why?
Mathnerdm, update your profile, with your general location, and some local guys who are members of BR can help you. As far as your question, no two lakes are created the same. It was also the first time out to that lake so you have to get familiarized with it. Going, out at night limited your vision, to see what the cover looked like. Since you are new to bass fishing and to this site, read up as much as you can on the article section on night fishing. Scout the lake you went to during the day, and see what it looks like. Then come back with a game plan at night and try again. Good Luck.

Tennis Elbow From Frequent Fishing
Ice is extremely helpful after an outing or for the end of the day. Alleve works great, however consistently taking an otc med means there is a problem that has to be dealt with.

Tennis Elbow From Frequent Fishing
Join the club. I really feel for you. I have battling fisherman's elbow now for well over a year and half. Sounds like you have it really bad also. My best advice is to get physical therapy as soon as possible to get the swelling down. Stop fishing for at least 4 weeks. Yeah, I know that sucks. I did the cortisone, shockwave therapy, rest for 2 months thing, all to no avail. I finally met a therapist who was big on biomechanics and she figured out that I had weakness on my arm and shoulder leading to the tendonitis. I had to really change the way I fish. I am no where out of the woods, but I can cope with it a lot better than before. I can shake hands again if that makes sense. If I can help you with more info pls do not hesitate to PM me. Fisherman's elbow, aka Tennis elbow, is a big deal. Its very debilitating especially if you love to fish. I wish you the best of a luck and a speedy recovery.

Why Wont The Bass Bite
I am assuming you live in S. Fl. your profile is pretty vague. People will help you a little bit more if they new a little bit more details. As far as your question, right now this heat in S. Fl is brutal. If you do not have any noticeable cover, the fish are probably seeking refuge at the deepest points of your lake. Does your boat have sonar? You may be able to ID ledges or humps. You may also want to start fishing at night since you live on a lake. That would be your most productive time to fish right now. Good Luck.

Frog Question
AK fishes them straight on to the hook. AK, I looked at a Ribbit hollow body frog yesterday at BP. They look almost look like Scum frogs. I used those only for a little bit a long time ago.

Fluorocarbon Advice
Stick with braid for frogging. If your line broke right above the knot, it was probably a friction break. Meaning you did not lube the knot well enough and when the knot was cinching down the friction weakened the line.

"broken In" Frog Baits
Diggy ,that Koppers look like it had many well fought battles. That's my favorite color combo you have there, that's the color I caught the bass in my avatar with.

"broken In" Frog Baits
Wareagle, 25-30 fish strikes will definitely make a frog look battle tested, just like yours. The reason I said mine were dead by two outings is because those outings result in 50-60 bass, not including misses. The frog you currently have will not survive another 25-30 fish. It will tear, and get messed up beyond recognition. All are awesome signs of successful bass fishing trips. I also do not have pics because as soon as the frogs start taking in water or tear, I take off what's left for parts sort of speak. I keep the hooks, disc weight, and the strands of legs.

"broken In" Frog Baits
That frog has been broken in well. Can't show you mine because they are buried with high honors. In the spring, when the Everglades fishing is at its peak, after 2 outings your frog will not be recognized let alone in working order any more.

Frog Comparison
I am koppers fan, like I have mentioned before, however I was gifted a booyah frog not so long ago and I said what the heck. I have used it on my last two outings and I have found that it easier to walk than Koppers. I was 50/50 yesterday. Caught one lost one. I cannot say it was the frog, not enough fish attempts have been made yet. So far, for the price point not a bad frog. I will continue using it.

Shimano Citica Or Lews Speed Spool
X2, what Hootie said. You are stirring up a hornet's nest. Both are good reels. My suggestion, take your rod into the store place both reels on your rod and see which one suits you the most.

Getting Over The Color Barrier W/ Red Hooks Lets Talk
I used red Gami's for years until I noticed using black nickel the strikes were the same. So as I used up the reds I replaced with black.

Oakley Vs Costa
My everyday pair you will see in my avatar. Green mirror, amber. My off shore glasses are blue mirror, grey. I feel that the lens color does play role in the water and environment you fish in.

Is South Florida Really This Bad In The Summer?
Martin, you are not doing anything wrong. There is a reason why I have not posted anything yet. It's sloooow. It's also hot..hot..hot. Water levels are fluctuating like crazy. Did you read the article about the water level in the Everglades yesterday? At this pace I will probably not post this month. AK, treasure the spots you have up there. When the fish are "off" they are "off". There's nothing you can throw at them to spark there interest. Martin, you may have to seriously consider shiners. LOL.

Who's Wants In?
The fish up in the NE have some nice girth to them. Mike2841, nice thick fish.

Thinking About Florida
