Florida Bragging Rights, Take 3, July 1St - 31St
It's amazing the lengths we go through to save a lure. LOL. Gators sometimes show up when you least expected. Especially when it rains a lot. Fortunately, you laugh about this experience.

Some Decent Fish Lately
Welcome aboard. Ding...Ding... Ding... We have a new contender for bragging rights entering the arena for August. Nice catches. I like the swag face you got going.

Whoa...Whoa....Whoa... there are prizes now!!! AK, you are going down!!! You are starting to get cocky. LOL. LOL. Funny reading the friendly rivalry between you and bass czar. You focus on him and don't pay too much attention to me.

Yeah, you should get your rest and sleep through them both.

Modifying Hollow Belly Frogs
MarkH, great point. I am glad you brought that up. Out of all of the frogs I have, only 2-3 frogs have some sort of modification to them. The rest are fished as is out of the box.

New Zoom Fluke Stick
Looks like a subtle bait.

Help Me Guess The Weight Of This Bass
That fish looks like a 2 - 2.5lb fish. I think those calculations may have been a little off.

Golf Course Pond
Nothing ventured nothing gained. Especially in bass fishing.

The way the fishing has been going with you lately, I would say stay sleeping again..

Is This Turnpike Pond Worth Fishing?
My approach was simple once I saw what I working with. That place was screaming for a frog. And it didn't let me down

Modifying Hollow Belly Frogs
Andrew, your conviction on these frogs is so compelling that you have me seriously thinking in trying one. Are they hollow body or are they soft plastic topwater like a rage toad or a zoom toad. I have seen Ribbits but has topwater buzzing frogs not the hollow body variety. Have you used a Koppers frog yet??

Frog Rod/reel
Yes, definitely tie your braid directly to the frog or you will have your heart seriously broken.

Finally A Decent One!!
LOL. "boat" not "bait". I thinking about fishing too much.

Finally A Decent One!!
A yak, or pond prowler type bait would be really practical to have. It would open up your options a whole lot.

Modifying Hollow Belly Frogs
Basshole8190, thank you for the clarification, the explanation makes sense. I do use Booyah's however next time I buy a frog I will look at one and see the hole you mentioned. Thanks again.

Well It Happened To Me Finally.....hooked Past The Barb (No Pics)
I fished with jerkbaits and cranks for years, I respected the hooks, until I got really hooked in my thumb. Unfortunately, it required an ER visit and now I REALLY respect baits with treble hooks.

Summer Bass Are Kicking My Butt - Help!
BadContrakt, don't feel bad. Summer has been slow for me too this summer. The Florida heat can be tough. You have to keep at it and take advantage of what summer time patterns can throw at you. For ex: taking advantage of the temporary cool down afternoon storms can produce. Those same storms depending on duration and intensity can cause water to move which can stir things up and cause the bass to actively feed. Keep at it. Everyday is new day, you never know what it will bring.

Frog Rod/reel
I landed a sweet 6lbr yesterday on a frog, with my Lews MG that I mentioned earlier on 7 ft MH Avid on 30lb braid. The rod and reel worked perfectly together. The only thing is that the Avid runs $30 more of your upper limit that's why I recommended the Rage that runs around your budget.

Anyone Have A Fish Break Your Reel? Pics
Do you remember dropping the reel? It may have cracked and with all those big fish you have been catching and missing. The battles could have made the crack worse until it finally gave way.

Modifying Hollow Belly Frogs
Basshole, I do and have done the mods you have mentioned, except the hole with the paper clip. You actually find that the hole in the rear actually helps with drainage instead of contributing to taking on water? The hole, stays right at or below the water line depending on how you work your frog. The only time I take on water is after a good missed strike. Hole or not after a strike as violent as a bass strike and can't see that little hole draining water. Please help me clarify.

Yeah, I misread Bass Czar. Sorry.

Hollow Body Frogs
Spro's are nice frogs, however, when I came across the Live Target frogs I have not looked back. I cannot speak of the other frogs, but the koppers frogs last a while. I have landed 50 bass on one, before it was torn and it would take on water and sink.

Can Cops Ask You For Your Fishing License?
Snook, after I came off the high of landing the 6lb bass I pulled out of there. I was left scratching my head. I really want to know why I cannot fish there. I would understand if it was fenced in like some of those ponds are but that was not the case. Some have researched since yesterday, and no one can come up with an answer. Maybe its a safety thing??

Nice fish!! WTG!!

Can Cops Ask You For Your Fishing License?
Not necessarily AK. The spot I went to yesterday was on the side of the highway, my car was parked well away of traffic and the pond is also well away from traffic. No signs were posted any where. For fishing or parking. I had my fishing license and drivers license on me. The officer didn't even ask for any of those. He just told me to leave period.
