Nice fish, August is going to be challenging for everyone else.

Thinking About Florida
It's unfortunate about your experience. Where are you fishing from bank or boat? From a boat you do not have a problem. Gators usually just swim away as you approach. On the bank, I have never encountered a gator here in South Fl. I also do not bank fish in areas that is known to have gators.

NEjitterbug, you are catching some pretty nice bass, on a consistent basis. Are these fish from one location or various places. Are they from ponds or lakes?

Injury
Nice_Bass, the warning signs are there. You just said it. 3 injuries in 2 years. I know its tough, but rest that shoulder. Do the proper rehab and take some time off.

How Much Do You Spend On Average A Year On Fishing ?
Great question. I have no idea. It's not like I spend whenever I like. Everyone in my family knows I love to fish, so during the holidays and my birthday I load up on BPS gift cards. My CC is also a BPS card so I load up on points. Last year I did spend a lot $$ on 3 reels but this year not much. I hold on to my gear for a while.

Ever Gotten Sea Sick?
I am very susceptible to sea sickness. Very unpleasant feeling for sure. However, since my Dr. turned on to motion sickness patches, I have not gotten sick since. It's little patch you place behind your ear the night before you go fishing, and the seas can be rough and I am all good.

Got It, Got It! Don't Got It...
Yeah, unfortunately you learned the hard way. Never ever, use light lb test when frog fishing. Yes, you may get away with wrestling with some dinks, but even a 4lbr in thick cover will pop your line. Minimum lbs that I use is 30 lb. PP. On a M/H rod. Minimum.

Who's Wants In?
NEjitterbug, your on a roll up there. Awesome! Your close to 80" 3 days in!! I am not even on the board yet. Way to lead from the front.

Spro King Daddy Frog
You will be surprised what hits that big frog. I have fished with Koppers Bullfrog a few times and you would think I would catch monsters on that frog. Nope. 2lbrs if that. My confidence is in the mid size frogs.

When Do You Consider A Day Of Fishing A "good" Day Of Fishing?
A good day of fishing for me is when I am at the Everglades and I catch 40+ LMB on my own (excluding my fishing partner), avg 3-5lbs. A great day is throw in 6+ lb bass in the mix. An awesome day, is when they are all caught on hollow body frogs.

Who's Wants In?
I am from the Florida group. You guys are going to have fun with this. It's stepped up my fishing game whole a lot. Maybe further down the road we will do North vs South? I have a great August!!

Man, you have quite the spot there Andrew. On top of that, the police are cool with it. Great.... August is going to be really challenging now. You have a 20 incher already.

How To Get The Fishy Smell Off
Wash your hands with tooth paste. It gets the smell off pretty good.

South FLA, sorry to hear about your ex-honey hole. Last we spoke you did mention the possibility of your spot being taken over by another owner. That's unfortunate. You posted some nice videos and pics outta there I especially loved the frogging strikes.

Bank Fishing..
You did not screw up. There are applications for both types of reels. Explore this website a little more and study and read the articles and videos on here.

Injury
Just rest it and take time off of it. Easier said than done when it comes to fishing, I know. I hope it was just minor dislocation. Depending on the severity someone just mentioned it, you didn't tear your labrum, which is common after shoulder dislocations.

That's what I truly enjoy about this site. There are so many levels of bass fisherman here interacting and many are so open to share and give suggestions. My fishing game has elevated tremendously since I starting participating.

Personal Best.....finally Break 10#'s...lake Okeechobee
Congrats Dude!! Sweet fish. You deserve it. You have put in some serious fishing time.
-
Lake Okeechobee
I seriously doubt it. The temperatures up by those parts in the winter can get pretty chilly and kill them off. That's what happen in 09-10, that big chill we had killed off a lot of pea's. They had a good number of them in the glades.

South Fla, I was curious when you were going to post. You and Mike. You guys are always posting very nice stuff. Those fish were nice and your boat is not to shabby either. AK, I know your heart stopped for a second. There are several FL guys on here, that if they were to participate in our friendly tourney and post their top 5 catches for the month, they would blow us away AK. South FLA, do you still have that sweet honey hole at the golf course?? Thought I forgot about that huh? That place is awesome. Too far for me but awesome none the less. Fortunately, the real "top dogs" are in real $$ tournaments.

South Fl Freshwater Fishing Is Like A Box Of Chocolate....
Rvadog, in the case of the pea I caught. I was sight fishing for that one. When I do that, they are sometimes good for 2-3 casts and then they sink and move on. This one stayed around. They spawn in the summer. Sometimes more than once. Many years ago when I was kid I found peacocks easier to catch. Now they seem harder to catch. Then again I have not dedicated myself to strictly peacock fish.

Frog Question
AK are you referring to those Ribbit frogs again?? Man, you love those things.
