  1. I have been told that one of those lakes is called lake cantalina. Very big bass have been caught in there. I saw the pics.
  2. The Revo S is a great reel. Its my main setup for my bankfishing and softplastic setup when I go to the everglades. I have it with 10lb yozuri and its awesome. Light, smooth, and strong when needed.
  3. I have the 6.4:1 magnetic cast . I like it. I use it for my swim bait setup. Its really smooth and the paddle handles feel good on my fingers.
  4. Gripnrip, thank you for posting that website. I read the entire article and then some. I also looked into the methodology mentioned, in which it compelled me to order the book. I have found that as I gravitate to bass fishing more and more I also find I am developing pain in areas that were not effected before. For example, my elbows just to name a few. I have done pain meds and injections and the next option I was told by doc is surgery. I do not and cannot accept that. So as I read the article you recommended and reviewed the book, I had to order it. I receive it on the Dec 27th and I will report back after 30 days for a before and after review.
  5. Yeah, I could imagine that wind, however if you had solid commitments from 2-3lbers I would say it could of been worse considering the conditions. I am glad you had an ok day.
  6. Lgmouth how did you do at Lox?
  7. I live in South FL, so I can't help you where to go. However what I will tell you is if you have not gone out fishing since August, you owe to yourself to get out. I know a cold front just came through, slow down your presentation, be patient and your never know what might just happen.
  8. Thanks for the heads up Shane. Fortunately for me the bulk of my everglades fishing is up north around the alley and 27. However, I do not know if the Corps has any ideas for that area. Have you heard anything for that area?
  9. Its going to be interesting. North wind 10-15mph and sunny skies. If the water is not stirred up with the wind you should be able to find bedding fish if indeed they starting bedding yet. I went out to the glades last Sat and we did not see any spawners. Either way enjoy the outing and good luck.
  10. Hi Shane, Merry Xmas to and yours as well. What area of the glades will these closures effect? Fishing is only going to get better as the months progress and I definitely do not want to miss out.
  11. I landed this bass yesterday late afternoon at my local park. She went for an even 4lbs. Not a bad way to wrap up the day.
  12. There have been plenty of reviews on this forum. Do a search on threads from a little while back. I recently acquired the S on Black Friday and its become my go to reel for my soft plastics. I am really enjoying it. I have caught plenty of fish on it and it handles them just fine. It's extremely smooth and light. The drag system is smooth, I landed a 4lb Lmb yesterday late afternoon and the reel didn't even flinch.
  13. 95% of the time it some type of zoom bait. Lately, however I have been including Rage twin tail menace and shell crackers into my fishing.
  14. I have tried others however I keep navigating back to Zoom flukes. I am positively sure there are other soft plastic jerkbaits that will work but Zoom is my confidence bait.
  15. "Holy ****" I have never seen anything like that. From catfish eating pigeons to eagles snatching babies. CRAZY!!!
  16. I do not have experience with any of the reels mentioned except for the Revo S (3rd G). I am really, really enjoying this reel. I ordered it on Black Friday and received shortly there after. This is my primary reel for bank fishing and I throw all my soft plastics with it. Since late Nov til today actually I have landed 40+ LMB with it and its still going strong. I know its still new however I have confidence in AG and this reel will last for a while. I have it paired with a 7ft MH Carbonlite and its sweeet. I am eyeing the Shimano 50E but I will wait for the Spring Classic . As far as details of this reel, its extremely smooth, when I have to crank down on a fish it does it with no problem. Castability, I set 3 of the pins adjust the control knob accordingly and I am set. Backlashes close to non existent. Weight, reel + rod= feather light.
  17. I have most of my success with spinnerbaits in the winter. Last winter I caught one that went for 6Lbs around Jan-Feb.
  18. Take a look at the St. Croix premiers they start around $100 or BPS carbonlite also around $100. I can vouch for these rods because I own them. The carbonlite's have a one year warranty something happens to them you can return them and get new one no questions asked. I exercised that option once. The premiers are good rods will last you for a while.
  19. I have been throwing different soft plastics lately. Finesse worms, trick worms, centipedes, swamp crawlers on a Revo S 3rd Gen fitted on a 7ft MH carbon lite. Its been windy lately so I am using a 1/8oz bullet weight using 10lb yozuri hybrid moss green. Awesome setup. Light has a feather, with nice backbone on hooksets. I find using BC over spinner I get better leverage and a stronger hookset. I was using spinner for years using the baits mentioned above, but with the Revo S I pull it off with no over runs.
  20. Sad... sad story coming out of Connecticut today. 20 yr old gunman goes to an elementary school and shoot and kills 27 people. 18 were children and 11 were school staff. Gunmen if I am not mistaken then kills himself. I am the proud parent of two kids 6 and 4. When I heard this story it made me numb inside. You are not suppose to drop your kids off at school and think what if... and unfortunately that's the way society is headed. Heck, that's where we are at. Mall gunman last week, elementary school this week, what are we to do??? Take a moment tonight and hug your kids and spouses. We do not know what tomorrrow holds.
  21. PP is the way to go. Sorry you lost those $$ lures.
  22. They do that. I bank fish a lot too, not in the glades, closer to home and sometimes i am so caught up with what i am doing that scare iguanas from their perches.
  23. Cool. Enjoy your fishing adventures. Side note: If your in the glades fishing from the bank, keep an eye out for snakes and gators. Just a heads up.
  24. Was that pic taken at US27? I am heading over there on Saturday.
  25. C'mon man your killing me. I just back from fishing for a little bit. Had an ok day, and now this... LOL.. Awesome job. You are the man!!
