As far as the settings that you asked about. I have only 2 pins activated. I have not messed with the pitch pins. On top of that i do not pitch or flip with that set up.

Great reel. I have been using it since after black friday and I really like it. Palms well, buttery smooth, handles well when fighting decent fish. I have it spooled up with 10lb yozuri on a carbon-lite rod. Light and versatile.

My froggin rod is a Rage 7'4 H bc . I have had it for over a year now and I really like it. It does the job well. Plenty of back bone for strong hooksets and the micro guides I feel, allows for accurate casting.

St. Croix rage series come in micro. I personally have a 7'4" heavy for my frogging applications. Nice rod, good back bone.

Cannot speak of the veritas however I own a carbonlite and I really like and enjoy this rod.

The two fishing lines that are my go to after experimenting with several lines is Yozuri hybrid an PP.

Whenever i am out on the boat its columbia pfg gear all the way. The sun down here is strong throughout the year, so long sleeve shirts and pants will protect you pretty good. Top it off with a hat and costa's and your good to go.

Great way to end the year. 32 in the canal is pretty good. I went to park for a couple hours yesterday and wrapped up with 4. Heaviest 2lbs and change.

I would recommend #20 PP and #10 yozuri. The thinner diameters will increase your distance a tad, and with that setup the only way you will get a break off would be in thick vegetation. Also, properly adjust your drag and be patient playing the fish and you will be in business.

Holiday has not been a hot spot for couple of seasons now imo. Some of the surrounding areas to the North of holiday like 27, holeylands, and the alley have been more consistent.
