Golf Course Frenzy

Got a call from South FLA, aka Robert about 4 pm. Robert asks me what are you doing? Knowing most of his calls are fishing related I replied "getting ready to fish" So he says can you meet me in 15 minutes over at the gym as he is just finishing up. I said yes I'll be there. He has invited me to go fish his honey hole at a local golf course. I have been chomping at the bit to get over there for the first time. Yesterday was the first day after a cold front passed through and i wondered how that would affect the bite. I had a popping frog tied on & Robert was fishing a spinner bait. He gave me the first couple of casts to a known good area but my frog didn't get touched. Then he casts the same area with the spinner bait and immediately gets hit. Then the fish started to cooperate. I think we had between 30 to 40 fish in an hour and a half as it got dark. Lots of doubles and all quality fish. A short but very satisfying trip. Thanks Robert.

I'd probably be a lot more interested in golf if I could fish the water hazards and catch fish like that!

All excellent fish!  Congrats on an awesome trip!

They must kill off the bass in the golf course ponds around me, lol.

Dwight, if you send me the location of the pond and honey hole I will keep it secret for you in case you forget where it is!!!!!

Beautiful catches. You guys did great.

I, too, have a double secret pond in Virginia. I really need to hit it after the coming cold front moves out and we have a day with some nice weather.

Keep those pics coming. It is great to see the Florida catches.

One day I want to take the son, daughter-in-law, their two heathens and my wife to Disney World and while they go to the parks I want to hit the Disney ponds.

Thanks again and don't forgt to send me the secret location!!!

Sweet honey hole. Does that water pass thru the golf course or is it contained in the golf course exclusively? Looks if its a canal.

Dwight was off in his count, I stopped counting at 20 for myself and got into a school of buck bass that would have pushed me close to 30 the last 10 minutes of the trip!

Contained in the course exclusively!  This will not last long as a honey hole, since the resident that owns the property with the membership is about to sell, sad very sad!  Unless of course Redline moves to S.FLA as promised, then I will present the Club as an option for him to buy in :eyebrows:

Oh man, that would really suck if he unloads the property. In the mean time fish away. That place is awesome with the consistent size I see you post.

Very Nice!!

That fishing trip didnt sound like fun at all :)

Dont get spoiled fishing there.

Looks like you have a 70's afro in the third pic LOL

WOW - WTG Dwight and Robert

Now THAT'S fishin'.  I don't know if that pond has a name - but if it doesn't - you should name it "Shangri-La" !

You guys got more quality fish in 90 minutes than I've caught in the last 5 MONTHS..........

I didn't get your question till I looked at the 3rd pic. A tree afro.

Dwight,

What part of Florida are you wintering in?  Its unbelievably cold here this week, the high for Erie is only 20!  I’m headed to West Palm on Saturday for a week, I’m looking forward to “thawing out”!

Now that's Catchin' right there ;)  WTG you guys!

Wow, id love to hit some golf course ponds !! Nice job

Them fish must feed on the wayward golf balls man those are some horses....
