As long as the frog is contained well and out of the elements it should do just fine. If you ask me how many fish a frog can handle before you have to retire it I will tell you its around 40-60 quality bass.

We are windy and colder as far as South Fl goes today. LOL... If I were to be bank fishing right now I would position myself with the wind to my back. The only way I would be casting toward the wind would be if I were fishing heavy baits. As far as presentation goes, i would slow it down, finding the right amount weight to use will be key. The wind can make bottom contact challenging. Goodluck.

Slow days happen. Try to get out as much as you can. You never know what the next day has in store for you.

Sounds like its time to change it out. Once line becomes that springy its time to either change to braid, or refill, if you really prefer that line.

I do not live in Port St. Lucie, I live further South, but what I can tell you that might help you a bit is Google Earth. That site has helped me find spots til this day. On a side note, our fish down here are finicky this time of year. With cold fronts coming and going these next few months, our fish will turn off for a few days at a time. Once things level off, the fishing can pick up dramatically and then shut down again when the next front blows threw. Hope that helps, good luck.

I got hung up on some branches across a canal the other day using braid. So I looked for a stick, but I could't find one. Then it hit me. I wrapped the braid around my pliers a few times then I pulled my braid free. Just a thought if you can't find a stick.

Did you you check the spool retention screw on the top right side of the reel. That screw is what allows you to expose and remove the the spool or access the brakes. I have found, when I use to have the Revo S, that when that screw became loose my reel would make the noises and performed the way you described. The screw will not fall out. It's a spring screw, however when its loose it causes the spool to be loose as well. That might do the trick. Good luck

MM51, I stopped there once to check it out, but never to fish it. The ramp is nice. It has two aluminum docks on either side of it. I haven't figured out how to head back East on the alley once I leave the ramp though. The exit allows for a safe Exit to the West, on the alley.

The Lews line up have great reels. I have 2. The Tournament MG and the tournament pro. For another $30 you can purchase a TT PRO. They can be had for $150.

I have had Carbonlite's and they served me well.

Congrats on the boat purchase!! Your fishing experience will definitely be enhanced. I agree 100% with Rhino's post. Become comfortable with navigating, trailering and everything else in between before you begin focusing on fishing and electronics.

I palm my reels, but then again i either have big hands or i like small reels one or the other.... lol!! The swim baits and arbogast have more than enough weight to just chuck and reel without a problem. Throwing the 5" boot tail, should be ok, just periodically check the line. Winding with the line between your fingers all the time sounds like a pita. Focus on your holding your reel right so that your ready when the big one hits.

Hopefully you will get your boat back soon. Big G, was tearing them up over at the Holey Lands just last weekend. That's not to say that fishing may have turned off since then. We are entering the time of year where the fishing can become unpredictable. As fronts weak/strong come and go our fish down here can get real finicky. The time is quickly approaching in the glades where you can catch loads of fish one day, and be scratching your head the next. When days are slow, you have to roll the dice, take your time and cover water until you find a few that are willing to play. Good luck.

Depending on what techniques you are using would I be concerned with how tight the braid is spooled back on to the spool. Heavier applications, the line will re-spool itself just fine when retrieved. Lighter applications, however the line will re-spool itself loosely. If your fishing the latter application you will have to be more conscious about what line is doing more often than usual and correct as needed. If your fishing heavier applications just fish, and periodically check how your line is doing. Besides... when you catch a nice bass, all that tight line or loose line business goes out the window anyways.
