  2. Gorgeous dog, my condolences, to you and your wife.
  3. You definitely have to plan it right. Let me know when you decide to do it.
  4. Most definitely Mutt. If you have a small trolling motor you will be ok. Hopefully Joe is not to squeamish of gators. They will be in full force by then. Tell you what, when you decide to go, let me know and maybe LMG and I will surprise out there. It will be fun.
  5. That canal there is one of my favorites. It has a lot of cover and vegetation. On the other side there are a lot of of low lying trees and overhangs.
  6. Went out for little while today to one of my local canals. Fish were active. Caught a few fluking. Also came across 6 nice peacocks but I failed to bring my peacock baits with me. They were blowing up all around my baits. It was exciting to see but disappointing that I could not connect. The pea's were active up until about 6:15. Here is a pic of one of the better bass I caught fluking. I also saw a nice snook but he wasn't having it and left, and I was also able to balance a fluke on top of a nice bass's head, and it slowly swam away not remotely interested in my bait. Oh well, but the balancing act was cool.
  7. LOL... that brought me back to the " yo mtv raps" days. Good times....
  8. My niche I would have to say top water baits. Mainly frogging. Fluking and walking would come a distant second. All the other techniques will follow after that.
  9. My training/work and degrees are in Exercise Physiology.
  10. Thank you for the compliments guys. That fish was indeed special. We were fishing a 3 line spread and my setup was the center reel with the bait right outside the white wash. We were trolling at about 9-10 knots for about 2 hours when we were discussing where to bottom fish for a while because the trolling was slow. No sooner then we finished that sentence, my center rig began peeling out line. The consistent Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........ was music to my ears. That fish ran for a while. I brought it to the boat 4 times and all 4 times resulted into repeated runs. By the 5 approach the fish was exhausted. After that, it was gaffed and brought on board. High 5 fives all around. As far as how I made it. I went the grilling route with an Asian recipe. It was titled Grilled Ono (wahoo) with soy, ginger, garlic. It was delicious. The steaks were about a pound or so each. My wife actually took the leftovers for lunch today. I know it's lunch time somewhere.... sorry. All of you saw the before pic here is the after..... Thanks again.
  11. I have to agree with what you guys have mentioned on how good wahoo tastes. I made some wahoo steaks about an hour ago, and they were gooood.
  12. Thanks, funny you should mention how good it tastes. I have never made wahoo before and I have several beautiful steaks and I don't want to screw it up.
  13. Caught this awesome 51" wahoo yesterday afternoon. I had fun fishing weekend. Bass fishing in the glades on Saturday, offshore fishing on Sunday. South Fl is awesome. Enjoy the pic. What makes this catch even more special to me, is that this was my 7 yr old son's first offshore outing.
  14. Thanks Piscicidal. You are correct. They see you it's over.
  15. You didn't do anything wrong. A lot of these guys know Holiday like the back of their hand, and have the hardware to go where the bigguns are.
  16. Out of curiosity Mram, why do you want your horny toads to stay floating vs just using a hollowbody frog? Is it because of the action?
  17. Thanks for the input piscicidal. So... I would venture to say without you disclosing any of your secrets, I should be focusing on big bass baits, and stay committed to that pattern?
  18. The only LiveTarget I fish with regularly is their frog. Like MikeHO24 said. Top knotch. For me, they are one best frogs out now. I have been using them since they debut a few years back.
  19. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Hats off to Skip going into the swamp. I have always been curious how these flats guys get in there.
  20. Yeah the big girls are still out in the flats and probably spawning out there as well, based on the tournament sacks this past Fri. The sacks were unbelievable.
  21. Wow!! Nice job to those anglers. Here I am wondering when the big girls are coming, and these guys just busted them up.
  22. WTG!! Shane. Sweeeet catch!!
  23. Ok...ok..... we know you are "The Big Girl ambassador" .... we get it.... LOL.... awesome catch.
  24. Nice pics gentlemen. It's a fishing goal of mine to submit a DD, pic on a thread like this. Dead River are those the only DD you have caught? If not, how many have you landed?
