Caught a decent one on a Morgan Custom Lures 7" Glide Gill. Threw it next to a weed bed and it shot out and smocked it. It did'nt get hooked up so I casted back out there and it shot back out and got hooked up. I know that hammonds tackle sells live trout. Last time I was out there my dad caught a 4.2lb spot off of a ledge with live trout.

I might be heading out to Lanier on Sunday. Any tips? Where should the fish be holding?

If you're ever going to Lanier and need someone to fish with I'm open to it .

My right thumb swells up sometimes when I go fishing in the cold. It also goes numb. Could be arthritis being that I have it in my knees already.

The bait you are referring to is the Bull Shad. I really want one! He doesn't live far from me at all.

Mine is a MorganCustomLures 10" Gizzard Shad. 3oz shy of 7lbs.

I found that the 8" BBz did not throw well whatsoever on my Okuma 7'11" H big bait rod. With that being said, it most likely won't throw well on yours. I'm not tryin to out you down or anything.

I'm happy throwing my LDC production XH($235). It is paired with a Shimano Cardiff 300($119). You guys should see the price of the baits I buy... I could have bought a car by now haha.

I haven't personally used the soft gills, but they're awesome. I was fishing with my friend Kyle and he hooked into a 9-10lb class fish. Matt's hardgills on the other hand are amazing. They flat out catch fish.

It's a lot different than traditional fishing. But once you catch some big bass on them, you get hooked! Sometimes literally...
