Old Reel Question.
The rod that I found with it was an Abu Garcia 5'6. And from what I've heard people say is that it is a technique only rod. But no one told me that technique lol. So would a 5'6 rod be good for that stuff or no?

Old Reel Question.
Hi, I was wondering if an old Ambassadeur 5000c would be a good reel if I just took it all apart and oiled everything. I am working on getting the corrosion off ( which hasn't gone through the metal ) of the reel and maybe start using it. But the question is the reel a decent one? It still works and everything, just needs oil. And also I recently found a 6' rod, could I use spinnerbaits, jigs, crankbaits, ect ( or however you say it ). So if you guys could help me out here that would be great. Have a nice day.

What Catches Your Eye?
The way it looks. If I see some red like on a spinnerbait, I will buy it. Usually I will buy gulp and rapala because I have been using them since I was 9.

Some Insight Please.
HI I was wondering what I should be using on my 5'6 medium action rod. I have spinnerbaits, jigs, crankbaits, topwater lures, and alot of worms. I usually use weightless worms on my spinning reel.

Like you were saying though about the blid casting, almost every time there are like four bass you will see swimming by and guess what, they don't hit. But luckily me and my dad are taking the boat out everyday this weekend and next week so i'm pretty sure we will catch some fish. Thanks for the advice. I'm also learning how to use a baitcaster.

My Confidence Is Slim.
Well my dad bought me three spinner baits, all of them strike king, 12 packs of different gulp worms/plastics, 3 jigs with some pig stuff that smells terrible lol, chunks for trailers, 4 zoom brand super flukes, and a brand new set of pliers. And we have some decent rods and reels. PS- It was my birthday! But what I do If i'm not catching big bass I will actually fly fish with some poppin bugs and catch some small largemouth bass and some big bluegill and shellcrackers. Those big bream fight hard! I will usually catch about 10/14 fish every time I go, which is everyday because the lake is behind me. I usually go for about 5 or 7 hours lol, time flies by fast when your catching some decent fish.

An Old Baitcaster. Good Or Bad?
Hi, I was wondering if I should buy a newer baitcaster, or just you my grandpas Triforce 153. I recently found it at my dads office and he said if I learned to use it, it's mine. Well not mine but I can use it whenever I want. What I did is I put about a 2 ounce weight on it and started casting it, i only got the line tangled 4 times out of like 20! I think that's pretty good for my first time casting one haha. But long story short, what kind of line should I use for jigging/spinner baits? My dad said he had some 50 pound braided and I have been hearing about people using like 20 mono or 65 braided. So I can't really tell which one I should put on. Well since I told you the reel, I think maybe one of you guys can tell me the best type of line to put on it. As always have a good day/night!

My Confidence Is Slim.
To be honest I don't know haha. Umm, the weather here has been sunny for about 3-4 days and it has been about 79-86 degrees. I am fishing in a small lake in a neighborhood which is just full of bass and baitfish. So I know they are in there. How would I find this out? Check the temperature or something?

I know this but I mean like how do I tell if a bass is hanging around? Like what type of structure should I be looking for? And we go up to rabun and burton to fish during the summer and school year.

My Confidence Is Slim.
I have been fishing scince I was 5 and now I am 16, my whole life I have been catching bass, bream, catfish, crappie, and almost anything in lakes. But recentley I seems like I just forgot how to bass fish. I have been catching a bass or two everytime I go fishing but it just seems like I have no confidence. Do you guys have any tips or knowledge on what I could do to regain it? I know it sounds weird but if you could that would be great!

New From Roswell Ga
Hi, my name is Michael and I have visited this site many times and just never thought during the school year I would have the time time to post or even come to the website everyday. But now since I have to whole summer to fish I figured I would join and get some tips, or just find out some good fishing places. I mostly fish freshwater but occasionally I will go down to the Gulf, or to Saint George Island to either surf fish or go deep sea fishing. The lake that I fish at is a lake in this small city called Mountain Park, which is in Roswell. There is a lower lake and an upper lake, which in the upper lake I caught my biggest bass ever. I figured it was about 7 or 8 pounds due to my hand could fit under it's mouth haha. But in all I just wanted to stop by and say hello and wish to talk to some of you fellow fisherman. And I have been fishing since I was about 5. Have a good day!
