  1. Thank you very much guys. You guys help me out with everything lol.
  2. I guess I will just go with 30# SpiderWire braid then. Thank you guys. Still need to know what knot is best for tying backing.
  3. So I should get 30#? Like is that what most people use? What type of knot should I do for that?
  4. Is 50 pound braid to much for a spinning reel? It has a 12LB diameter. I would be using this with a scum frog and humpin toads. Pretty heavy weeds. And can I just spool it straight braid? I hear someone saying that you need to use mono for backing but I think that is just for baitcasters right?
  5. Is 50 pound moss green good? And what is the diamiter on that?
  6. As the title ask's. Which one is good for frogging pretty heavy vegitation?
  7. I have and love it. Pulled in a 4 pound catfish easily. 7'0" M/F
  8. I was wondering if the bass pro humping toads were good? I got a 49 piece frog kit from bass pro and they are all 4". They seem a little stiff, I mean I am going to be using 2/0 trokar hooks so i'm pretty sure that they will peirce through the frog but do you guys like them?
  9. Thanks guy's! Yeah I think I may be come a frog addict haha. I went out to bass pro which is like 10 minutes away from me and got a booyah frog instead of a live target like last time because this way I don't feel as bad if I loose it but still will be PO lol. Went out today to this reservoir called Crystal Lake and I mean this lake is beautiful. Only electric motors and this thing is almost more then a mile long. Has trees coming straight out of the water and downed trees on some of the shorlines. Were going to take the boat next time. Good thing is that there is almost no one that fishes there except for the locals. Oh and I caught nothing but my dad caught a nice 3 pounder across the lake while I was looking at him. Have a good day everyone.
  10. It was an late afternoon day, sunny and beautiful. Took out a frog and I knew for sure this would be the day I would catch a fish on a frog! There were weeds all over the place. Wide open for casting it far as I could. I tried to remember how to "Walk the Frog". So I did my best and twitched, reel, twitch, reel, and so on. I heard bass jumpping, and most of the time I would see them too. The whole time I was casting at the banks getting nothing. Then I learned that all the bass were out in the middle/towards the bank. I saw a bass jump out of the water, as soon as I saw it I reeled in as fast as I could and caster about 3 feet in front of where it jumped. And I was so hesitant as about what was going to happen, looking at my frog the hole time. Then all of a sudden I was something swimming towards it, i got so anxious wondering if it was going to hit the frog. I kept on thinking in my mind was it wait 1 second or 3 seconds before I set the hook if the bass were to hit my frog. Then BAM!!!! I was so confused about to set the hook as soon as it hit. So I just set the hook when I saw the line jump up and start moving which was like 2 seconds. I was so happy as I was reeling it in. So I got it in and I took all the weeds off of it and the worst thing that could ever happen. I picked it up to get a picture and BOOM! It started to jump all over the place. It was going towards the water so I kinda ran after it and almost fell in. Hell, if it was in the water sitting there I would have jumped in with it. I finally collected my thoughts and thought to myself, man that was my first frog fish of probably many. So all in all it was an amazing time today.PS(Well kind of another story): I didn't check my not after catching that fish, and when I slung that frog as hard as I could the d**n thing flew almost 180 feet haha. So what I did at first was tell myself I was an idiot lol. But then I saw these guys that were in a john boat that I see every night I am here(which is every weekend), and I went through this like forest of weeds and bushes that wasn't that long but man did those briers hurt to ask these guys if they could maybe get it for me. So I asked them very politley and saying sorry for asking you for this and it would really help me out alot if you could please get my frog for me. One of the guys said yeah sure and asked me what color it was and I told him, then I heard his friend say something very mumbled. Then I sat there for like 5 minutes looking at them wondering if they were messing with me or just being as**oles and not helping me out. So what I did was I said never mind I will get it. So I had to walk all the way to my dads house which was about a maybe 3/4 of a mile and told my dad and step mom what happend. So I went to the garage got my inflatable raft and went down there. They were still there and as I put it in the water and as soon as they saw me they turned around and went to the bank over on the other side. So I got the frog and as I was going back I yelled "Hey thank you guys for your help!"(like my mom says, beat them with kindness). And as soon as I was leaving they sarted to come back to the bank. I mean I really don't know what there problem was, I mean the frog was like 40-50 feet behind them. I don't know if what I asked was wrong or anything but to me they were just rude. Well I just thought I could share my thoughts in my mind with you guys, have a good night.
  11. Thank you for answering!
  12. I found this brand new Culprit Fat Max on this fishing bridge in at my dads house and I was wondering how to fish it? I have a 4/0 EWG Worm hook, is that fine? Should I Texas rig it, should I just keep dragging it slowly and stop it every two turns since it's kinda like a snake?
  13. So basically I got to go back to bass pro lol.
  14. Hi I was wondering if 15 pound YoZuri Flourocarbon is to much for weightless worms such as flukes? I mean I don't mind using a weight but it just seems natural to me to use a weightless fluke because I have fished them weightless since I was 10. And also is it fine for frogs such as a 5/8 Live target frog in the pads? Thank you!
  15. I went to the FLW expo here in Georgia and got some good stuff just for a dollar each. Crankbaits, flukes, soft body frogs, craws, swimbaits, utails, ultravibes. I got out of there only spending 20 bucks! So my question is what type of hook and what size should I use with these 4" Edge frogs? And also would they be good for bank fishing with grass above the water because they sink? Thank you!
  16. So frogs aren't good on lilly pads? I thought that's where they go?
  17. Oh, it's flourocarbon. I was wondering because I fish a lake that doesnt have that much weeds and stuff, but then all of next week I will be fishing this lake with tons of lillypads.
  18. Ok, thank you very much for helping me out. I can't wait till I go. I also found this like like 2 minutes away with lilly pads all over to haha, i'm going to go probably every day. Can't wait till that first frog catch. Will post pictures when I catch one.
  19. Can I take the line that is on my reel off and then later put it back on?
  20. Only reason I would be frogging is because I am going down to the Okefenokee Swamp in the fall, so I will be frogging the whole time since there are Lilly pads all over on the right side.
  21. I have a 7'0" CarbonLite Medium action. I know that a MH is better for frogging but is this alright? And I was thinking of putting 40 pound braid on is that enough?
