  1. I went out yesterday with my new spinning combo. Dobyns champion and the president and man can that reel cast a small shakey head far! Tomorrow will be the true test because an 8 degree rise in temperature but I love this reel already.
  2. But the one you said was different. The one I am thinking about is an elephant instead of a horse. Funny quote though. Made me laugh.
  3. That was a quote from the movie "The Love Guru" I beleive.
  4. I'm waiting on mine for today. I ordered a dobyns champion to pair the president up with from tackle warehouse. I can't wait to try the new rod and reel out. I will come back and give my review if you want later.
  5. I have one and I love it. I use it on my duckett micro majic rod and the combo is as light as a feather. I was nervous buying it because there were not that many reviews, but my expectations were met. I'm not trying to steer you away from the Sx but I recently bought a Lews Speed Spool and it is amazing for the price. The only thing is it is a little hard to dial in but once you do it's awesome. I can cast weightless worms with it.
  6. I don't know if there are any advantages, but the company's say there are. I love my micro magics(duckett). I have one medium and one heavy. The heavy is so light and strong. The medium has a beefy backbone and a light tip.
  7. Just got mine yesterday in the mail. The techniuqes and tricks in this book are what my dad does already.
  8. . I thought that commercial was great.
  9. Never tighten the spool tension up. I found that out the hard way(worst birds nest of my life). Just set the drag the way you normally would and set the brakes to what you normally would to. When I first started to skip a jig I would have my spool tension to where it was tightens a little bit and would sometimes backlash. Since I have gotten semi decent at skipping jigs, I can set the spool tension all the way off and just thumb the line the entire time it is skipping be it twice or even up to 10 times. When you skip you don't want to swing all that hard. If you do you might backlash. I have not tried to skip anything else such as flukes, worms, or anything like that but I perceive to be the same thing really. This is just the way I do it. Once you get it the first couple of times you will get the feeling of how to do it and it will get really fun trying to see how many times you can skip whatever you are using and all of the structure such as boat docks and stumps hanging over the water you can skip under. Have fun, and be cautious of back lashing.
  10. If you have an xbox 360, and own any of these two games please post your gamertag so I can add you on XboxLive. I am picking one up tomorrow and those games, and xboxlive. I will put my name from here in the message part of the friend request because I don't know which name to pick. Thanks!
  11. I was wondering if the Okuma Big Bait Rod 7'6" Heavy, would be good for throwing S-Wavers, and some floating BBZ's. Also, if I were to get the Cardiff in the 300 size, would that be perfect for swimbaits? I like the feel of it, it just feels right in my hand. Oh also, would Sufix 832 braid lo-vis green 65 pound test be good for these baits? I would be throwing them in stained water, so I wouldn't think braid would be a sight issue. I just want heavy braid so I can pull them out of weeds if need be. PS: I would also be throwing 6" Hudds.
  12. No one else even needs to post...
  13. That's what I would be doing with the S-Wavers, since they go basically right under the surface.
  14. So how do you fish it, just reel it in slow. Maybe add a couple twitches? I know it depends on what the fish want, but would I be able to pull it through cover/weeds easily?
  15. Do you think that the Trout color would be good? Even though we don't have trout, they would probably crass into it alot because they have never seen anything like it before?
  16. Would you reccomend exchanging the hooks that come with it for bigger ones? Or are they good hooks? Talking about the G2.
  17. I was wondering which colors I should get of each. I was thinking for the Cracker G2, I would get the Ghost Bluegill color. For the S-Wavers I would get Baby Bass, and Bluegill. Then for the BBZ, I would get the Blue Herring floater. The water I would be fishing is stained, with a good amount of docks, and some brush. Also there are rock walls that I would be casting down to. Then the other lake is really weedy with pathways to throw your'e bait. There are also some stumps and about 5-6 downed trees. If you guys could help me decide on the colors that would be great, the main reason I picked those colors is because I saw other people fishing with them and they were catching bass. Also, should I just go with 40 pound braid since I would be fishing both lakes? Since all of them float, I don't see the problem in going that high. Thanks!
  18. Oh forgot, what color to!
  19. As the title says, what is you're favorite beaver type bait?
  20. Sorry for flip-flopping around on what reel I want. I decided that I want a left handed reel(casting). I was reading about how alot of people liked the lew's reels, so which one would be best for weightless worms? I thought that I might like the Lew's Tournament MG Casting reel 7:1:1. I was thinking of pairing it with a Duckett Micro Split Grip 7' Medium. Would that be a good combo?
  21. I know the difference between casting and spinning. I changed my mind on getting a casting combo.
  22. I think I want to get a St.Croix Medium Lite Mojo 6'9" spinning rod with a shimano symetre. What size of that reel should I get? Are those two good for weightless and weighted worms?
  23. Would a MH rod be suffice for casting texas rigged worms and small crank baits?
  24. I want to get a new casting combo for under $300. I was looking at the speeds spool an TW for $99, and everyone was saying that they liked it. I don't know if I like right or left handed casting reels yet. I only have 2 which are right handed reels(Hold with my left hand), would I still be able to cast with my right hand if I were to get a left handed reel? Should I get one just to try it out? Holding it with my left hand just feels weird, that's why I am thinking of getting a left handed reel. Any input would be great. Thank's.
  25. It's called a ganoe I think. Maybe a geno? It's a replica of an old boat that was made. Just cant remember the name.
