  1. Was that first one on an MS Slammer? Looks like you had an awesome day man, beautiful pigs!
  2. Frog, frog, and a frog. Get a hollow body frog and a heavy action rod with 65# braided line and you will catch lots a bass and get an excitement that will make you want to fish a frog all the time when the weather is right.
  3. Ca or Japan. I would say the reasons why but everybody explained it in depth really well. I've heard of the big bass in Mexico and Africa, but not as much as Ca.
  4. I think I remember him saying he had a pic of it but doesn't want to post it because he is only postin pics from when he joined and the future(if I remember correctly). It was either that or his friend had the pic and won't send it to him or something. I like to beleive story's with no pics when there is stuff to back it up but a 15Lb and no pic, just seems fishy to me.
  5. So are you saying that you weren't able to get good casting? I'm sorry if I sound dumb(which I probably do) but did you have a problem with the reel. Like was your issue with the casting? I find if I guide the cast with my thumb there is no issue at all.
  6. i have never had any problems with my 3rd gen SX. Did you have an actual problem, if so what was it? I have caught some giants with this reel and no problems. The drag is 100% consistent and casts a mile.
  7. Thats what the one I was talking about did. It could have been dragonflys, or something else.
  8. Last month during the spawn I saw about a 5-6lb bass jump straight out of the water. It was weird because I didn't see any shad and you would think they would be close to the beds. It was a good ways from any cover.
  9. It's just a sound. But I understand. The way I look at it is the bass don't care what it sounds like so I don't. I don't even recognize it anymore.
  10. Sounds like its something your going to have to live with haha. I have the SX gen 3 and it does the same noise but it is an amazing reel and casts so far. If its performing well then why get rid of it? Is it affecting your cast distance? Does it feel weird on the retrieve? If not then I don't see anything wrong. I don't like that mine does it either but the reel is awesome.
  11. Looked like you had an amazing trip! My lake does this to me a lot. The days you are on them you always catch a 5+. But someday a all you catch is one or none at all.
  12. I have an Okuma guide select 7'11" with a Lews Speed Spool. I was going to get the Cardiff but Im going to get that later.
  13. I think I'm going to do the butch brown style. But I heard that it is weak though. I heard somebody say that they pulled on it hard with pliers and it broke. Like they had the bait stationary and pulled really hard. It could have been there tying but I don't know. I think I'm going to give this a try. I am still up for suggestions.
  14. Isn't 1/0 pretty big? I know I should use a good and strong hook but aren't those huge?
  15. That would be to my mainline. And then 65# braid for my hook rigging. I have also heard that Gamagatsus are good for Hudds. I just don't know where to start.
  16. Could I still get the rainbow trout color even though I don't have trout in my lakes. Would the bass still hit it? The waters I normally fish are stained but i am going to start fishing some bigger lakes which actually do have trout so would this color be fine for my lake at my house even though there is not trout. And would the Owner Stinger Hook Number 1 ST 36 be a good hook for the top hook? Also would 20# CXX as a leader be good? Thanks for the help.
  17. How does it for around the beard haha.
  18. Your rod is fine. I have that exact combo and it makes the noise you are experiencing. Both of my rods do that. But there could still be a bur in your guide, check them and see.
  19. Awesome pictures, sounds fun! Always wanted to catch a smallie.
  20. Just yesterday I caught a 25 pound black drum jigging for flounder. My drag was zinging with 20 pound test power pro. These president reels are the real deal for the price. I had a drum before that do the same thing and it shook the hook after 5 minutes. I fought the one I caught for about 10 minutes before it finally surfaced and floated on top because it was so tired. I've also caught about 60 something bass on it and the drag is so consistent. If I need more spinning reels on a budget, this is the one I would get.
  21. This. You can use any bait for this application.
  22. I love the duckett rods. I have two of them. 7'0" Medium and a 7'0" Heavy. They are so light and sensitive it's crazy. I have my medium paired up with a RevoSX Gen 3 and the combo is crazy light.
