They look like a shad when swimming. When swimming it, I really don't think the bass care too much. As long as it looks real and has a good action, it'll get bit.

Did you check matts site? He might have a floater.

You might want to ask that on some of the swimbait websites like SU or SN. A lot of people use round reels including me. I just haven't used this exact one. Hope this helps.

Topwater. I just started fishing swimbaits this year and can't wait I catch some big ones. This time in the year the big ones come out to play. I used to throw frogs, and spooks. But this year, only 8-10 swimbaits. With the bigger presence and the amount over water they move, if you pull that in front of a bass's face, they're hitting it. It's what they are going I do. No question. This is the time that the bass are starting too eat everything.

I don't know if your ragging on swimbait fishermen, or just won't take the time and do some research about swimbait fishing. So what if you catch 20-30 bass using a crankbait. That's what you like to fish. Different strokes for different folks comes into play here. I've heard of people catching 40+ bass on 8" baits such as a bull shad in one day. There's many reasons why I would throw a big bait over a crankbait. 1. It's really fun to fish big baits haha! 2. You're basically cutting out the middle man(your 1 lbers you catch on cranks). 3. It's fun to fish them(wait, I said it again)! 4. They catch some monster bass. Those are my reasons. Keep chucking those small cranks, and I'll keep on chucking my 8-10 inch swimbaits.

What part of Ga are you from?
