  1. Here's my cob job. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151165-building-a-handle/?fromsearch=1
  2. You are probably right. The point was I wouldn't put to much stock into what a pro uses. They usually have other things going for them. Such as electronics, boat control, instinct, and lots of experience.
  3. He switched to enigma rods so they must be better....I'd look at one if those.
  4. I usually try and add something to the conversation
  5. I recently but together a spinning rod using the KR concept and 4.5 running guides. I'm up in the air on the distance I'm getting using 10lb braid and 10lb mono leader lure is usually a 3.5 tube with an 1/8 internal weight. I'm getting any where from 40-60 feet give or take on the cast. The rod is rated 1/16-5/16 so the lure should be right in the wheel house for the rod. I just wonder if the lighter weight of the lure and the leader knot (Alberto) are hindering my distance? I guess I'm saying if there is not a heavier weight pulling the line threw the guides is the friction of the knot hurting my distance? I've had casting rods with micros but generally don't go below 3/8-1/2 and think maybe the weight if the lure helps pull the line threw the guides. Or is 40-60 respectable with a 6'6 light action rod? Very confused. Please don't move this to the tackle making section looking for insight from more micro users. For the tackle makers I laid out the rod using the instructions on anglers resource with the bulleye and stadic test the running guides. Thanks ahead for any help.
  6. I haven't had that problem with the Ned rig specifically but have hook a few more fish that usually this year. I would recommend a pair of these. They are called fish grips and make like much easier when unhooking treble hooked smallmouth and toothy critters.
  7. 1/8oz mushroom head with a chopped up senko
  8. I would imagine when you get to that price point "value" isn't factored into the equation. A timex will tell the time just the same as a Rolex. There is a saying with luxury goods. If you have to ask the price you don't have enough. Lol.
  9. Very cool. I'm excited to watch this take shape. I have a smallie rod taking shape as well
  10. How is a plastic on a jig head specialized?
  11. I always liked how the color extended to the belly of this one.
  12. I'm the rock bass king. Had a decent night on the Mohawk a week ago but it's been tough.
  13. Hit up DVT he can mAke you a left hand rod.
  14. I hear ya man. I've learned so much from this site. One of the top things I've learned is fish don't think. Does your dog or cat think when it chases something?
  15. Not to be a bummer but no. Plenty of other things in this wide world to wonder about. If I'm not catching they aren't there or I have to change up.
  16. Anyone use this stuff? I bought a spool and could not for the life of me wrap with this stuff. The beginning wraps kept slipping and when I finally got it to work I had gap city. Switched to some fish hawk and it was night and day. The blank was unfinished if that makes a difference. It seems like good stuff but I can't work with it. Any pointers?
  17. Lucky craft pointer 78? I think the small one. Read all the hype on in. Caught a bunch of fish on one this spring. Academy Pistol Minnow. The Gunfish 95 knock of. Works great. Excalibur Zell pop again the small one. And the best part I bought all these lures over the winter for a grand total of $15.
  18. I caught a dead rock bass dragging a tube that was gross. I also managed (thankfully) to avoid snagging a prophylactic that was floating downstream.
  19. Mono or fluoro will be better for walleye. Give braid with a mono leader a shot
  20. St croix 66mf or 7,0mfThe avid x looks like a nice mix of traditional and new school. Give that a try.
  21. I don't care how long it takes. I want an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.
  22. Great post. On FB I saw this right after. http://memeunleashed.com/a-dogs-purpose-according-to-a-6-year-old/
  23. I just run a pencil threw the hole in the middle, put a foot on each side and wind it on.
