  1. I don't know anything about Phenix but medium light is my favorite power for spinning. You would be suprised at what they can handle. Enjoy the new rod!!!
  2. It bound to happen. Reversing the way you rig them can get you a few more fish out of one. Edit. Learned that from the master
  3. They see me trolling they hatin' I'd pick a reel and post up some fish picks
  4. Was going to buy on one of those curado I's but couldn't pull the trigger Glad I waited
  5. Some good info here. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/155603-new-spinning-rell-help/?fromsearch=1 And here http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/155745-150-spinning-reel-help/?fromsearch=1
  6. Interesting observation. I had watched something similar the other day. Watched for about 5 minutes as a crawfish made its way across a slab of rock. I came away with the fact sometimes I need to slow down.
  7. Excited to see how these stack up against higher priced offerings.
  8. A starter kit with many of the things you need to get started is a good idea but I can almost guarantee you will be making a trip to the hardware/craft store.
  9. A guy told me once he had a fishing game on his phone but never fished. I told him he needed to get out more and he walked away.
  10. Do you remove the middle treble on other 3 hooked baits? It seems like a great idea. I'm just wondering if it can alter the actions on other baits?
  11. My favorite setup right now is a custom SC 7'mlf Croix with 10lb braid and stradic 2500. The nice thing about it is it can handle a 1/8 Ned rig as well as a 78 pointer or 95 gunfish.
  12. Smaller is smaller. Measured in millimeters of the outer ring. A size one would be tiny so the guides are sized a way I'm not familiar with. If you really wanted the correct guide measure with calipers or call the manufacturer and order from a rod building supplier.
  13. Posted this in the NE section but I'll put it here as well. Good one from earlier today.
  14. I'd say they are worth it when they catch fish and aren't when they don't.
  15. Personally Tom I'm right in the middle 3.5 inch tubes work best for me. I use 1/4oz weight with a 3/0 hook and 1/8 ball head with a 1/0 hook. I buy the jigs in bulk off the auction site because I could lose 5 in 5 casts. Tube brands don't matter much to be either again I look in bulk. I scored over 300 zoom tubes for 30 bucks over the winter. As far as colors I like a junebug/black for muddy water, green or a copper for clear water.
  16. Rivers starting to heat up but the rain they are calling for all week should cool it down.
  17. That is a very good looking rod. Love those colors.
  18. This^^^ I think if you use 30/40 braid and some heavy wire hooks there might be a few less logs in there.
  19. When I bank fish they are either there or they are not. Keep it moving. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/126667-bank-fishing-forum/?fromsearch=1 If you haven't seen the above, it's worh a read.
  20. Nice looking fish! Thumbs up!
  21. The Mohawk finally gave one up.
  22. This site might be of some help www.tackleworks.org
