  1. Dang you went all out on the first one. Looks really good.
  2. Looks good. That's my first project to tackle when I can get the boat out of the shed.
  3. I'm excited to watch this as well. Can we get an update on that other rodgeeks build you posted awhile back as well?
  4. My thoughts on drinking and boating are the same as driving. 1 beer an hour or less and enough money in my pocket to get a ride home.
  5. Easy. He's already working out another pattern for you.

    $$$$
  7. Yes the ones with just the cork. They are mostly st Croix with a few rain shadow rx7 thrown in.
  8. That's a good deal. Back in January they were selling them for $2.70 a bag!!! I'm locked and loaded.
  9. It's almost time to break the tape out.
  10. Use it to double up on techniques you use the other rods for.
  11. I would use it for an in between of those two other rods. If the spinnerbait bite is hot have a different one on that rod, same with the jig or any other bite.
  12. I didn't see grap a spinning rod in that list of options.
  13. 3/8 for me they cast good, light enough to burn up top and heavy enough to get down.
  14. This is my car/friend box. Mix away nothing to worry about.
  15. $3 a piece? Yes sir mr.monkey right away.

I like black with blue flake. I'm excited to try the pearl white this year.
  17. Bulldogs, beer and bass @evant123
  18. Hey Scott, Nice looking components. I see the rod geeks use the same material as St.Croix. Can you comment on how it feels in hand compared to a St. Croix blank? Similar feel? Action?
  19. I'd like to pose a question. Hopefully it's not off topics. If you took the lowest end blank from a given manufacturer and built it with the lightest guides and handle setup possible and weighted it against the high end blank from the same manufacturer built with stainless guides and full cork handle would you have a better rod if the lower end blank was lighter?
  20. Brady, The brackets support the PVC with a bracket on each side of the trailer frame. If you have the $$ I would probably recommend the bunk style like JFrancho and Catt have. The PVC is cheap and easy but there were times were a bunk style would be better. You guys with the bunks. I have seen 2 feet and 5 feet long bunks and low profile and regular height? Any recommendations which would be best for my boat above?
  21. Looks great! Very nice.
  22. A problem I have had with braid is when reeling ice will accumulate around the line roller. I don't know if it's water getting into the bearing or what but once or twice it has made the line hard to retrieve and i had to putz with the reel.
  23. If I were too buy 10-12 lures at a time especially top waters I would diversify my purchase. That's just me. You don't lose top waters a lot. I generaly lose them to trees and poorly tied knots. I've had good luck with the lc gunfish and spook and the sexy dog and duo pencil or on my list to try. Most of my walkers are some variation of white or bone.
  24. I used PVC pipe, joints and u clamps. Get some PVC joints cut the pipe and use the U-clamps to attach. Heres a pic, I tried to take some better ones but there is 3 feet of snow in front of the shed. I also wrapped and epoxied cut up bike inner tubes on the the bottom part to keep the PVC from slipping in the clamp.
