What Are Your Favorite Setups (Rod&reel) And For What?
I think you have it covered especially if you are bank fishing. The first thing I think about before I go fishing, is where I'm going fishing. If I plan on going to the river and the cover is rather light I will bring a medium power baitcast rod and if I'm going to a lake ill bring a medium heavy. One thing that is always with me is a 6'6-7 foot medium fast spinning rod. With all that said I also think about the baits I'd like to use that day; if I want to throw spinnerbaits at the river ill bring the medium heavy and leave the medium baitcaster home. On a side note for all you bank fisherman. Google earth is you best friend; if you have a phone with google earth utilize it and find new spots its a great tool. For those days I being 6'6 med spinning and 6'6 med heavy baitcaster. Finally joining a fishing forum is a gift and a curse. A gift because you interact with great people willing to share advice and experience. A curse because you can read these forums and think you don't have the right tool for the job. If you catch fish with what you have how is it not working?. Think about how, what, and where you like to fish and expand or refine from there.

Zoom Super Flukes
I use anywhere from a 2/0-4/0 ewg hook depending on how fast I want it to sink and what I have available. BassResource has a number of videos on flukes o youTube you should check out. I believe in one Glenn said he uses an offset worm hook. Great videos btw very informative.

Future Of The Curado
I think that is a very good point. I think the main problem shimano has with the g series is a perception problem. I'm sure it's a great reel but when compared to previous interations and what's available from other companies it just never took off. Another thing to consider is we are in a recession and shimano is in the business of making money. They are a publicly traded company that being said their #1 goal is to increase shareholder value. One would guess by moving production to a country where the cost of labor is cheaper this is what they were trying to accomplish. Again compared to previous gens and other companies offerings this plan back fired. Like was mentioned above I don't think they can go back to a e style because that would be a total admission of a mistake. So here shimano maybe forced to innovate and provide the consumer with something of real value. I maybe wrong about all this but it will be interesting to see what's in store.

Braid With A Leader?
There have been alot of threads on braid and leaders lately and a search could find quite alot of information on the subject. I will however offer an opinion. I used the same green braid with out a leader for 3 years and had no problem catching fish. What I did have a problem with was tying knots and managing braid. What I mean is breaking off with straight braid can be a pain, cutting and re-tying lures (always have to break out the cutting tool) and handling it in 20+ winds. Now I tie a 12-15 leader in a color and pound test that I think suits the conditions I will fish that day and I can switch a lure or break off quicker. My .02 on why I use a leader.

Info About Ambassadeur...
That's a pretty loaded question. Based on my experience and reading this site alt, I think some of those questions you have to answer yourself. Based on the other thread you started on spinning rods; you had a good idea on what you wanted to do with that reel. Same situation applies. What type of baits do you like to fish? What's the cover situation? Will you target other species? These are all questions you should ask yourself. Obviously you are going to have a finesse type setup. So why not make this one a setup for heavier/larger presentations. Short answer 6'6-7 med heavy fast. Start with heavier line its easier to get the hang of with a baitcaster say 15lb trilene big game and work your way down as you get better with casting and if the fishing situation permits.

Funny Shimano
So I was going to flush my bearings the other day and as I went to remove the bearing from the side plate the clip popped out and landed on the carpet. After searching for a half hour with magnets on each hand I gave up. I then called shimano and they offered to send me one for free. Knowing this probably won't be the last time, I decided to order 10. The customer service agent told me with would be 3.80 with 3 in shipping. Ok so I bought them and look what came in the mail today. It's like some sort of sick Christmas joke.

Cutting Braided Line?
I got a pair of rapala braid sccissors from Wally's that do a great job just be sure you don't cut mono or or things with them as it will mess up the teeth.

Leader Material For Top Water Pike.
I've had pike cut 10lb braid like a hot knife threw butter but have had good luck with 12 lb yo-zuri. I landed one that probably weight close to 8lbs and had to putz around with it in the water while I got my pliers. I was also using a 4/0 hook which may have helped keeping the line away from its teeth.

Is It Just Me Or......
Ill be the first one to admit when I got my first nice shimano I was in love and bragged about it here That said I've realized yes it's nice to have "nice and/or expensive" gear. Since then I've realized. 1. I have a lot to learn as far as catching and understanding bass fishing is concerned. 2. Fish what feels good in your hand and just enjoy being outdoors, fish what feels good in your hand, and try to spread the enjoyment to friends and family. That's more like four but you get the point.

Price For Spinning Reels

Baitcaster For Everything
I'm not the most experienced fisherman; however I think you would be hard pressed to find a baitcaster that can do everything well unless you spent bucco bucks on both a rod and reel and even then it will have limitations. Think about the techniques you like to fish and buy equipment that can excel at them but still cover a nice spectrum.

Shimano Curado E's
I browse a few forums in the buy/sell/trade sections and have not seen this. I recently purchased 2 curado 50e's; 1 for 75 less and 1for 50 less then a chronarch price. If anyone is trying to sell you a greenie for more than a chronarch there trying to rip you.
