  1. Sure did! I'd have a heart attack landing something like that
  2. If you need to get it that far I suggest some bottle rockets!
  3. Congrats! If I can break my personal best this year, it's getting mounted!
  4. I downloaded WAZE for my iPhone. It's free and it's a complete turn by turn nav app. Has online users that post traffic accidents, stopped cars, construction etc. one of the best I have ever used. Oklahoma City is changing like crazy and this app and gps is the only one I have ever used. I assume it's on the Droid market too. Best of all it's free
  5. Great job man. Now you can change your profile to say your personal best is 7-8 pounds.
  6. And the 6th of August will be my birthday
  7. I used to until last week. I had been fishing this area all day not a single bite. Used just about everything. OK Bass Hunter walks up, casts a trick worm and bam!!! 21 sogeye.
  8. True he works really hard and is not a cocking ball hog, but I think his shooting was sub par compared to others. Last year Perry Jones was alot tuffer than this year. I watched him twice this year play at Kansas and OU. I have an interesting story involving a crash play that got me on ESPN lol
  9. I read an interview with Brad Paisley once where several county singers had tried to get Andy to do a cameo in a music video. He had declined several due to some of the content of the video and how the women were portrayed. When asked by Paisley officials he jumped at the chance. "Waiting on a women" one of the all time greats.
  10. I've had the best luck flipping a jig into deep water, letting it hit the bottom and slowly working it to the surface. Chartreuse is my go to color for Walleye.
  11. I always thought stories like that were horse poo until I had a sparrow hawk nail a frog I was using. Barely hit the water and he was gone with it. Thank God it was weedless! To the OP, I have been throwing wacky rigged senkos in 4" with my 7' MHF rod with ease. Lighter line and a good reel will make it work.
  12. I have one not attached to a rod that is 5:3.1. I was going to make it a dedicated crank set up but I snagged a Bass Pro PQ in 4:7 so I will use it instead. Around here and being shore bound, I don't have much cover to fish and until either changes, I hate to purchase another reel. Thanks for the help guys. I may just run my 531 for now and save up
  13. I used to fish there as a kid. Its a good lake. One of the biggest things I hated about leaving Kansas was the great bash fishing. And of course monster bucks!
  14. Another fish from Walmart! Beautiful lake
  15. Sounds like you got a hunny hole! I would try some plastics maybe a lizzard or Senko? If there was some decent cover I'd try a jig with trailer too. All the big bass Ive seen caught are usually caught on something listed above or what's been posted. My biggest weighed almost 5 pounds and was caught while crappie fishing with a chartreuse bettle spin
  16. I'd like to get something together for the guys around here, but the bass fishing isnt all that great around central OK
  17. I'd like to make a dive out to Stillwater and see what there LM population is like. Anyone ever do any fishing up there? Thanks
  18. Whats your favorite gear ratio for fishing jigs? Should I stay with a high for them?
  19. I bought the PQ here off the forums. I have yet to use it as its still in transit, but there were over 600 reviews on bass pro's website. 99% 5 stars. I have messed it with alot at Bass Pro and it feels super smooth.
  20. Never met him of course, but have heard about him in several books. When I was a kid, my dad used to say that thunder was football greats playing ball!
  21. My number is 1-316-XXX-XXXX. Nice Fish!
  22. Lake Guthrie in Guthrie OK, is not known for the LM population, but I have caught them there in the past. Nothing over 4 pounds though. Just a run down on the lake. Its about 275 surface acres of water. The far north end of the lake, the dam, is all rock. I have run deep cranks all over and never been snagged so I'm assuming there isn't much cover. The entire east side of the lake is all peoples back yards, so its a no go unless you have a boat. I'm stuck shore bound. The west side doesn't show much for cover, but the banks are all covered with grass etc Hince why the north end seems the best. Its fairly deep water. How would I go about fishing this? The way the lake sits, it almost has to have zero wind or you spend the entire day throwing into the wind. I have caught a few in the past using a medium crank bait, but I would like to try something different, but without any cover I'm lost. I know there are LM there as well as some SM. I have talked with the Lake Officer numerous times and he said that he himself has pulled 2-3 pound Smallies and even Walleye out of the lake. Hell I cant even get the hybrid bass to hit. Thanks
  23. Walmart Girl. Love it!!!
