The jigs with the rattle bands that are not wire tied....How durable are the skirts and rattles not being wire tied?

I have been watching a lot of flukmasters vidoes and really liking the look of his rods. He says hes using a Ducket and Dobyns for example. I really don't have the money to spend on them so I was looking for some cheaper alternatives. The thick backbone is what I'm after. Those things look like baseball bats compared to my rods.

Lube it back up and just wipe it down afterwards with a damp cloth. Have you taken the side plates and spool off to lube it? I have no experience with Abu reels but I do have a 35 dollar loaner Shakespeare sigma bait caster that after living works like a champ. No Grinding at all. Just a pain to set up.

Try just a smooth follow through without a fast whipping action. Start off slow and speed up on the follow through but don't go past your point of aim.

Gene's video is as close to in person as you can get but if you have a person who can show you that's even better. One last question and I didn't see this covered but how is your cast? Whipping it or slow to fast follow through?

I caught a dodge neon once. Purple too! I was fishing off the boat dock back home and got snagged 3 times on something 10 feet off the ramp. There shouldn't have been anything there. Contacted KDWP and they did some trolling with their fish finder later that day. Got a call about 6 hours later telling me they found a purple neon that was stolen about 3 days ago. How in gods earth did some poor sap not tag the end of his boat with the car but no reports. They found a butt load of stolen property with the car too.

I have switched to Seaguar15# for my set ups and love it. First fluoro line I have ever used. I am not sure about the complaints on break off using the palomar knot though. Ive never had that issue. I only switched to the improved clinch knot as it waists less line when re-tying all the time. I haven't been able to try the line conditioner yet but I have noticed a ton better distance and less backlashes with fluro over mono.

Unless this is your first baitcaster and its a walmart 20 dollar reel, setting your break to 10 is over kill.

I think spending time worrying what to wear or what not to wear takes away from the fun of fishing. Kinda like sents and clothing for deer hunting. I wore a bright orange shirt, smoked and drank coffee while in my stand. I still killed just as many bucks as without. Unless your on a date or wearing a suit, fashion is a great way to get your man card revoked

I bought the Bass Pro, Pro Qualifer in 471 ratio for cranks. Super smooth and no issues here. Its a bit on the heavier side compare to my other reels. I got mine in the classifieds for 50 shiiped. New they run 100.

Think of it as practice for the big league. For every LM I catch at my main lake on top water, I catch 20-25 dinky hybrid bass. Still fun as all get out though!

The longer the rod the longer you can cast in most cases. If your fishing on peers docks or around trees the shorter rod might help
