  1. Hey guys, Been looking at a couple of reels on ebay the last few days and noticed that a seller has a Tatula Type R Limited Edition reel for sale. What is the deal with this reel? The reel is all red with the Tatula spider on the frame.... The listing says only 15 of these were ever made, and it also shows the bid is only at $200. Are these reels considered that rare and valuable? http://www.ebay.com/itm/221917389644?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Also, the same seller has a Revo Elite Aurora Generation 2 reel. Aside from the TT review on this reel, I don't see much info on this reel out there. Once again, how rare is this reel in the US market? Also, what is the going price for these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Abu-Garcia-Revo-Elite-Aurora-Reel-RARE-/221918264539?hash=item33ab5bfcdb:g:PRcAAOSw14xWJaUZ I may try to snag these reels, if bidding doesn't go crazy on them... Thanks for any info guys!!
  2. Take a look at Jann’s Netcraft for the shaker blades. You can attach them to a flat eye jig with a #2 split ring or use their new open eye shaker heads. The shaker heads are a really nice product as they allow the blade to slip right onto the head without attaching the split ring. You will also need a #2 duo lock snap to attach to the blade. 3. I have made dozens of quality spinnerbaits out of the components I have ordered from Netcraft. They are good quality components and hold up great. The paint always seems to stay on the spinnerbait heads and the hooks are always nice and sharp out of the package. The ball bearing swivels that they sell are also very nice quality for the money. #2 Ball Bearing Swivels
  4. Take a look at some of the information on the Jann’s Netcraft website. They have a whole “Ask the Experts” section on making different lure styles. There are also some great videos on making your own skirts, and several others. Their “Ask the Experts” section is on the left side of the page about half way down, just click on any of the titles in the box and it will give you a great source of information. 5. Take a look at the skirt making tool from Jann’s Netcraft. It is simple and easy to use. Simply roll a collar on the tube, put the skirt pads over the hook, pull the pads through and push the collar onto the skirt pads. All you need to do from there is cut the ends off and you have great looking skirt. Here is a video on how to use the tool: Jann’s also has a great selection of skirt material and all the accessories needed to make skirts. For cutting the ends of off the skirts, try using a pair of fine tip scissors for a close, precise cut. Silicone Skirt Making Supplies Scissors
  6. Take a look at crankbait bills made from circuit board material. The material is very durable and will hold up to banging into rocks and cover. I use the circuit board bills from Jann’s Netcraft . Their #005 works awesome for a square bill crankbait. It is the perfect shape and size for a fat bodied crankbait. Circuit Board Bills
  7. Before you bake the powder paint, use an eyebuster to clean the paint out of the hook eye. All you need to do is put the eye of the hook under the pin and push down. Quick and simple. Eyebuster
  8. I like to use a bluegill pattern a lot in the clear water of our area. Take a look at the Bluegill color of the Netcraft Turbo Flare Skirts. Another nice bluegill option is the Z Man Skirts in the bluegill color. The Turbo Flare is generally a dull bluegill color, while the Z Man skirt is a little brighter. Both colors work well, it just comes down to personal preference.
  9. Take a look at Jann’s Netcraft for round rubber. They have a good color selection, and the material is great quality. The price is also a great deal, and they offer bulk pricing as well. They also have a good selection of silicone skirt material in the tab form, if that is what you are looking for. Netcraft also has a great selection of pre poured jig heads that are painted and ready for skirts to be put on them. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/skirt-making-material/366200.aspx http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/skirt-making-material/ http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/flipping-jig-heads/
  10. The Mustad 91768 hook will fit in the mold, and is a lighter wire hook. However, it is a wide gap hook. I have been using the 91768 wide gap hook in the same mold, and it is working great. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/flipping-jig-hooks/810115.aspx
  11. A few drops of worm oil can be added to bags of soft plastics to freshen up dried out plastics. The oil will also keep them from sticking together, and keep them lasting longer without drying out. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/soft-plastic-lure-molds/044050100006.aspx
  12. Food coloring should not be used to color soft plastic material. There are soft plastic lure colorings that should be used after the soft plastic material has been heated to about 325 degrees. Start by adding a few drops of the soft plastic coloring, and continue adding coloring until you get the desired color you are looking for. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/soft-plastic-lure-molds/440203.aspx http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/soft-plastic-lure-molds/440510.aspx http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/Content/make_plastic_worms.htm
