  1. You got me! I should have known better.
  2. We locals know better! What about them hybrid stripe bass ? or aren't we going to call them bass today. I'll go along with the post facts if your just fishing the same spots as the last 1000 fishermen. Sometimes you have to fish off the old trail that everyone else is fishing. Ever see the PFC netting fish in the lake ? you would change your mind. No one see's anyone catching walleye but tests prove they are in the lake and stocked every year on top of that. Hawghead bait shop? I'd like to see new owners!
  3. Don't forget www.dcnr.state.pa.us ( find a park ) they have alot of electr.pwr . lakes and good fishing. If you have a county or counties in mind . I could send you mail of the elec. pwr. only lakes for them counties. What makes them electric motor only lakes is a few subjects of design such as the rate of inflow and rate of outflow, erosion control , size vs depth, ect.ect. I will PM you tonight TIM1980
  4. Aluminum ? buy quality. I have a 1959 aluminum 12' semi v and never had a loose or leaky rivit. The boat still runs the lakes today but I did replace the wood plate for the motor mount. Last year it rotted after 50 years of salt and fresh water fishing. Durotech no longer is around as a boat builder but I will say this >"less drag w/ semi V vs flat bottom. This 12' only rated for 600lbs and 10 hp but that was figured back in the 50's.I use it 20 wks a year as the boat was in our family since it was new. I'd look into a welded today.
  5. All them viewers and no responses! You can tell your in S.C. PA.area. Its all secrets. I know not a thing about this lake but some of the others I do. Someone always getting nice Pike from Marburg. Long arm dam in Hanover has pike and walleye action also. Isen't B&B tackle shop near Marburg that could answer your question.
  6. Also have Long arm dam in Hanover for walleye and pike I hear.
  7. As for crime > I can say that here in Harrisburg its alot smoother than Lancaster or York. Its a small city and no red zones. Everyone that I meet that is moving into the area agrees. As for fishing > don't believe it till you try it. I hear smallies are really active now in the tri county area you mentioned.
  8. speaking of that "si" on the depthfinder > I'm still waiting for the Lowrance " si " to show up so I can compare the two before I buy this year. Any word from anyone of a date. I want the best of the two compaines,
  9. Spring thaw is here and this weekend ( 14th - 15th ) a fishing show at the Wellsville firehouse just down the road from Pinchot lake.
  10. Wow ! 4 days. Thats more than 30 miles since Harrisburgs section is 2 ft. deep 8/10 th's of the way accross. I'm thinking of maybe from Halifax to Gouldsboro or T.M.I. area. You say "NO RAPIDS " ? the Dauphun narrows section will be rapids but you can get around them on the West side. If your looking for someone to drop you off > I think River front camp grounds still does that. They ran that type of service above Dunncanon area of Juniata and Susq. Ri.'s
  11. Always hearing about this place being over priced but I'm still going to checkout the cost of a side image finder. I haven't gone to B.P. in over 8 months. Someone said they dropped most of the ice fishing line-up and I quess they are trying to sniff out whay really sells.
  12. 1 pm you say ? Gues I can make that. Notice how the one who lives closest has the worst answer.
  13. What are the MD. State rules ? cause on the PA. side of the Susquehana > you can't knowingly target shad at anytime of the year.
  14. The river would be # 1 in my book but for lakes > I don't know of that many unless your fishing Raystown lake. Not that Redman, Pinchot and Williams don't have any , just not at that catch rate and lacking in moving water.
  15. WELCOME jmh285! we have a few from the Maryland line that fish lake Redman and its sister lake Williams. It has agood supply of Walleye, Stripers, Hybrid stripers and the list goes on. I believe I'm the only one who produces structure maps of these lakes. You can contact me also > goto my profile and e-mail if you like. Or PM me for questions or my site info.

Short note on broom sticks > Very poor quality wood. Most is "YELLOW" pine. Yellow pine is hi in sap and not in strenth. Its the air voids and sap that make this poor. To just practice on > Yes! but not for your fishing lure that you will use. Each type of wood as its number of air voids, sap content and density. You need all but in a ballanced form.

Dowell rods are good for zarra spooks also. A mini lathe is really the best way on the rod. Don't be stuck on what the local lumber gets you and its a norm to see pine and red oak. Online if you buy bulk you can choose from about 6 diffrent woods like maple, white pine, oak and so on. I like white pine the best but its whatever works best for you. I found a used lathe in the paper after 6 months of looking. Ended up spending $40 and then $30 on parts need (abused ).
  18. GANDER Mtn just a few mile North of it with Dicks so price wars are always around. Iknow BPS lost business over the year. At first it was loaded with boats and handouts ect. Now they want you to pay for the catalog yet I can get it free online. BPS is still just as big inside but traffic has dropped off big time. They still are under a special lease agreement to keep them as a anchor store I believe. Man's dream if your forced to take her shopping all day.
  19. I think even I could make this since its only 4 miles from home.
  20. Any talk about the air pressure. Low air vol. will spit paint. I for one keep it at a constant 30 psi . Never relate to the pressureized can type that they sell cause its not a constant messure and can cause spitting . I believe its better to be constant then going from 90 psi down to 15 psi on the same lure.
  21. I suggest www.smithpaints.com They make airbrush paints at a good price and better price by the vol. No mixing paints. They also customize colors. They are out of Harrisburg, Pa. I think they are far better than Createx and much like Wildlife. This might be the same maker for Wildlife paints. Specializing in taxidermy airbrush paints.
  22. I was asked to map that lake this year by a unknown person at a fishing show and knowing that its private > I said get me permission and I'll do that lake and to this day ( 10 months later ) I recieved NO calls. Its not easy getting permission and this person failed also.
  23. 4' 8" and thats all. For weed controll reasons per DCNR.
  24. Unlike last year we now have ice as far south as Pinchot lake in York County and maybe more. The lake was iced over and maybe because of a small draw down but its not safe yet. The creek channel was still open water today.
