  1. BASS The birth of 10-foot bass rods what are your opinions for or against and why? They unanimously decided to increase the length to 10 feet. I didn’t suggest a length but asked the question. After the discussions, they all voted unanimously to adopt longer rods, and they settled on 10 foot as the length. Here’s why I’ve thought about this for so many years. http://www.bassmaster.com/skeet-reese/birth-10-foot-bass
  2. I would think that even the "Wackey Rig" would work very good.
  3. I fish the Z Man Original Chatterbait Elite in a 3/8 and 1/2 ounce weights, the colors that I use are Black Blue, Bluegill, Smokey Shad and White. I use Crayfish Colors, Bluegill Colors and Shad Colors as trailers. The 7" Castaic Baits Jerky J's in Albino, Baby Bass, Bluegill and Green Shad work great in super clear water. By changing the bait’s profile, action and color or by using just about any type of trailer that you can imagine makes this lure have great versatility.
  4. I typically won't use a football jig under 1/2 0z. because I want it to sit on the bottom and drag not jump up and down. I'll normally opt for 1/2 0z. on heavy cover flipping jigs, and anywhere from 1/8 or 1/4 0z. for finesse jigs depending on how deep I want to fish them, and how fast I want them to fall. All my swim jigs are in 1/2 0z. As far as color, my favorites are either Peanut/Butter Jelly, Black/Blue, or some variation or blend that includes Green/Pumpkin. So when you pick your weight, just ask how deep are the places you fish, and how fast of a fall do you want? I'd say start somewhere around 1/2 0z. and go from there.
  5. Here is a video on how its supose to look if not out of tune. https://www.youtube.com/embed/8qx4sUh8xMk
  6. I use the Dirty Jigs Tackle Crappie Swim Jig with the 3X strong jig hook in 3/8 oz. 5/0 hook and 1/2 oz. 5/0 hook. The trailer that I use is the Zoom Swimmin Super Fluke Standard in the White Pearl Color..
  7. Have you ever fished the Gary Yamamoto 2" Senko in Green/Pumpkin and Watermelon/Red on the Ned Rig?
  8. I personally haven't fished on their weakness.
  9. I assume you are talking about seasonal patterns.
  10. For me it's a no brainer, I fish my spots first ( 20 to 30 minutes each) to see if I can developed a pattern. The locations are always in close proximity. The pattern may be the lure choice, depth, speed, size or color. My rule of thumb is "FOUR" fish is a pattern, either at one location or six locations. I also use my electronics while fishing a location and while I am relocating to other areas. I start out with ten rod and reel combinations on deck and finally eliminate it to four combinations. Depending if its dawn or mid day my choice will change back of fourth. I also fish for "big Fish " first and later what ever I can catch.
  11. Lacrosse Aerotuff 1500G Insulated Wader - Men's Realtree Max-5 12 Wader Care & Repair: Care and Cleaning The outer surface of most laminated waterproof-breathable fabrics is treated with a durable water-repellent coating (DWR). This chemical treatment forces water to bead up and roll off the surface of the fabric improving the overall performance and comfort of the garment. DWR coatings will begin to degrade after extended use and as the garment becomes soiled. The degradation will inhibit the DWR coating’s ability to bead water and cause the garment to “wet out” as the face fabric material absorbs water. Although the garment is still waterproof, the water saturated face fabric will hinder the garments ability to breathe, increase interior condensation and produce a cold, clammy feeling for the wearer. It is important to clean your garments regularly to help avoid this situation. http://www.orvis.com/s/fly-fishing-waders-care-repair/744 http://www.guideline.no/Washing+your+waders.9UFRnGYy.ips
  12. My two choices are, #1 GP Pro Green-JP Color and #2 is HT Ito-Wakasagi Color. I have confidence in both of these lures.
  13. I assume that you are talking about the Keitech - Fat Swing Impact 3.3 bait. Rig them on a 1/16 0z. weighted twistlock hook, swim them slow, fast or on the bottom.
  14. Tom scored a very big winner. Nitro Z21 w/Mercury 225 L OptiMax Pro XS & Custom Trailer. Please check your message box.

  16. The Strike King KVD Spinnerbaits - Tandem Willow Model: KVD38CW-234SG is aBluegill Spinnerbait. Dirty Jigs Tackle Bluegill 2 Swim Jig Features a "3X Strong Jig Hook". Available in the weights of 1/4 oz. with a 4/0 Hook,... 5/16 oz, 3/8 oz, and 1/2 oz. with a 5/0 Hook.
  17. The 4.5" and 6" Straight Tail Worms. On a #1. Dropshot, #2. Split Shot, #3. Mini Carolina Rig...
  18. I have narrowed my choices down to a Yamamoto Light Wire Spinnerbait in 3/8oz and 1/2oz, color is White Shad. I use as a trailer a Zoom Swimmin Super Fluke Standard in the White Pearl color. Add some Edge Hot Sauce Fish Attractant or Megastrike Fish Attractant all over the Spinnerbait, Fluke and on the fishing line for 12" above the Spinnerbait. In most Shad based lakes this set up will work very well, I always use a trailer bait but never with a trailer hook.
  19. I alternate by using Edge Hot Sauce Fish Attractant and Megastrike Fish Attractant in the Crawfish scent. Both seem to work really well for my types of fishing.
  20. What about if the ranger of line for mono and braid was different and was price over $300.00?
  21. Great colors, they will work all year long for Smallmouth Bass in many fishing locations..
  22. Question, if you were going to buy a baitcasting rod that is 7'4” in length, has a lure weight of 1/4-3/4 ounces, fast action, one piece rod, 9 guides+ tip, Rear grip length of 10 inches, Rod Weight of 4.7 ounces, spooled with a range of lines from 14 lb mono to 30 lb braid and was priced under $300 what would your top three baitcasting reels choices be? #1. Shimano #2. Daiwa #3. Abu Garcia
  23. November 10, 2016 by Tom Redington Soft-plastic baits come in all shapes and sizes these days. It seems every conceivable type of tail and appendage has been invented, so there is a bait that will work in nearly every situation. However, all soft-plastic baits have one inherent flaw, namely the “soft” part. The softness gives baits great action, but when a fish eats the bait and you set the hook, the top of the lure often splits as the hook tears through it. For a 10-inch worm it’s no biggie. Just cut off 1/2 inch and you’re back in business. For a lot of lures, especially creature and beaver-style baits, a torn head instantly renders them worthless. Thankfully, there’s an easy fix. My friend’s dad showed me a solution using an O-ring that’s so simple I can’t believe I didn’t think of it before. Yet, as simple as it is, I haven’t seen anyone else do it. Here’s how it works: https://www.flwfishing.com/tips/2016-11-10-extend-the-life-of-soft-plastics
