  1. I fish a Double Fluke (Soft Jerkbait) Rig, a double rig works even better than a single one....The result may look like two baitfish swimming together, or like one fish chasing after or following another one. Please check the link.. https://www.thoughtco.com/tying-double-fluke-soft-jerkbait-rig-1311196
  2. Pure Black soft plastic baits are best in Muddy Water... The larger size baits give off more vibrations, plus insert rattles inside of them...
  3. Please click on this link: I used some of the information before I bought a flasher... Success through Fishing Maps: In the last 30 years hydrographic maps (with contours) have come into their own as fishing equipment has moved through a sea change of technology – quality depthfinders, GPS, underwater cameras, along with huge changes in rods, reels and terminal tackle. http://learninghowtofish.com/fishing-success-through-maps/
  4. LOL, No truer words have been spoken... With lures that twist the fishing line, unless you use a split ring and a swivel you can waste a lot of time and aggravation trying to untwist the line... Very few lures come equipped with a "Snap Swivel"...
  5. I have observed the Strike King Rage Tail Lobster in my swimming pool and their claws move violently even in slow motion... The slightest movement will make the claws go crazy.... Bass are primarily sight feeders they rely heavily on their lateral line to find food...
  6. The advantages of using "Snap Swivels" are they prevent line twist... Easy and Quicker to change your fishing lures.. Disadvantage is your lures don't get retied often like they should creating a frayed fishing line and weakened knots... If a lure gives "Line Twist" then I use a "Swivel" attached to that particular lure... The swivel always stays connected to that fishing lure...
  7. Yes I agree with your statement... I use 1 Oz. jigs in extreamly deep waters also...I also use a Zoom Super Chunck Jr. Green/Pumpkin on a 1/4 OZ. Football Bass Patrol Jig in Brown color.
  8. I haven't ever used Zoom Z Craws... I am sure that they work great tipped onto a jig... What is your best color?
  9. I use Strike King Rage Tail Lobster for catching bass in muddy water with colors of Black/Blue Flake, Summer Craw and Bama Craw... It's very important to have rattles inside of them... There’s no such thing as too many, and they never can be too loud... I use All Terrain Tackle Jim Moynagh's Football Jig for most of my jig fishing... This Jig literally Rolls Through Rocks, Gravel, and over Ledges without hang-ups... My primary sizes are 3/8 Oz. and 1/2 Oz. in colors of Moynagh's Magic, Natural Craw, PB&J, and Watermelon/Red Flake...
  10. I use All Terrain Tackle Jim Moynagh's Football Jig for most of my jig fishing... This Jig literally Rolls Through Rocks, Gravel, and over Ledges without hang-ups... I tip them with a Berkley Powerbait Chigger Craw in colors of Pumpkin Green Flake, Black Blue Fleck, Green Pumpkin, and Watermelon Candy... Sometimes I will also use a 3/4 Oz. jig when fishing extremely deep "Clear Waters"..

  14. When I was a young boy growing up in South Easter Kansas I lived with my Grandparents on their large farm... The farm consisted of a large pasture for the dairy heard to graze in... The farm had a Creek running thru the property from surrounding areas... The pasture had three Tank/Ponds that had Cat Fish, Bull Heads, and Bluegills in them... My creek fishing consisted of live bait fishing with Night Crawlers, Grub Worms, and Crickets, that I would dig out of the ground from the barn yard areas, plus the Cray Daddies that I would trap in the Creek... The Grasshoppers would come in season during late Summer and were very easy to catch with a Butterfly Net... I used these baits in the three Tank/Ponds also.... I can't remember the exact month but my Grandfather had to go to town on his once a monthly business visit and I went with his to the General Feed Store in Arma Kansas... The owner had started selling fishing supplies... I saw this rod and reel combination which I pick up and played with it and kept asking the owner Mr. Norman a bunch of questions about it, most of which he tried his best to answer... Well my Grandfather saw that I have fallen in "LOVE" with the fishing rod and reel and ask Mr. Normand how much it was... Apparently he was told what the price was and my Grandfather told him that I had taken a very big likening to it that he would buy it for me... Mr. Norman told my Grandfather that he would give it to me if that was ok with him and this is how I acquired my first rod and reel... Prior to this all that I had been fishing with were two 8' Cane poles with some kind of braided line, Red/White Bobber, a clamp on lead sinker and a "Eagle Claw Live Bait Hook"... Next month we had a out of town trip and were going to Pittsburg Kansas because my Grandmother needed some sewing supplies to make a Winter Quilts... There was 5-10 BEN-FRANKLIN store in town, I ask if I could go and see what else they had in the store... Much to my delight they had a small area that sold fishing items... I bought some "Three Beetle Spins" in assorted colors and some "Small Pinky Jigs" for Bluegills... Now I was really something, at least I thought so at the time... Now 60+ years later I can remember it like it was yesterday. WOW! time sure does fly by very fast when you grow up and get a job, go into the Army, get married, have children, spend time fishing with your Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children and are active in your community's... Some where along my path in life I lost my First Rod and Reel...

  19. If you are fishing "CLEAR WATER" the Stanley Vibra-Wedge Spinnerbaits in 1/2 Oz. Ghost Shad Flash, Double Willow Silver/Silver is the ticket for success... For "STAINED WATER" try a Booyah Blade Single Colorado Spinnerbait in 1/2 Oz. or a 3/4 Oz. with White/Chartreuse Colors... Use a Yum Pulse Swimbait as a trailer 4 1/2" in Pearl White or White... You may need to increase the size of the Colorado Blade to size 5 or 6...
  20. I have replaced all of my Poe's Crankbaits ( WOODEN CRANKBAITS ) with Mustad KVD 1x Strong 2x Short Triple Grip Treble Hooks... 23. Please check your "PM Mail Box" I have sent you some information on a club that I use to be in... It's a great "Multi-Species Club". You can really learn allot of fishing information form these guys. Go to one of their meetings and bring a fishing friend with and I bet that both of you will join the club... Good Luck http://walleyesunlimitedusa.org/
  24. I replace my treble hooks with Owner Stinger STX-58 Treble Hooks... This new ZO-WIRE helps create hooks that are smaller in diameter, yet stronger and harder than ever before. The single most important characteristic for hook penetration is the wire diameter... ZO-WIRE hooks are stronger per wire diameter than any hook on the market... The hardness of ZO-WIRE also makes the point almost indestructible... Available in a range of sizes from 6 thru 3/0... The Owner Stinger STX-58 Treble Hooks feature a standard length with straight slightly curved-in super needle points, and a corrosion-resistant vacuum tin finish... Try to match the length as close as possible to the stock hooks... I also use Owner - Pro Parts Oval Split Rings in size 3, just have to make sure that the treble hooks don't become tangled up... I upgrade the snap to a Spro - Twist Lock Snap in size 3... When I fish at night in the "Late Fall" below the dam at Lake Shelbyville Illinois I use two Golden Roaches ( ON THE SAME TREBLE HOOK ) on the treble hook that's on the belly of the lure... I fish vertical straight down along side of my boat just jigging the lure about 12' to 18" up and down making contact with the bottom... Depending what the water temperatures in the "Late Fall" of the year it's light out when the conditions are correct...This pattern starts some time in late November all the way to late February. I start fishing around 8:00 PM each night until I have had enough fishing or catching which comes first...
  25. Try fishing Senkos in Colors of 323 (Watermelon w/Black & Gold Flake), Color 231 (Plum w/Emerald Flake), and a Color 222 (Watermelon w/Green & Red Flake) using 5", 6" and 7" on a Neko Rig with a Reins - TG Nail Sinker 5/32 Oz. Use a "O Ring" 2/3 of the way up from the nose weight... Slowly dragging a Neko Rig on the secondary points is often productive during pre-spawn conditions... Those same Neko Rig is also productive on the shallow banks if the bass have moved into the shallows to prepare beds... Mark Twain Lake can be very good fishing in the Spring using this set up...
