Going Barbless?
I went all barbless one time and now I am barbless for only single hooks. Basically the ones I need to set the hook, I'm barbless. Only fish I loose are usually smaller fish. They tend to flop around by the boat and come off, but I don't care. The bigger ones are fine as easier to maintain the pressure on the line.

Jon Boat To Bass Boat?
You look young and I trust you are fit (?) Do you see many kayak fishermen in your area? I recently moved to Austin Texas, boy there are so many kayak fishermen. It is kayak friendly area. Maybe you think about jon boat for next few years and in the mean time get a used kayak to be on the water? Just an idea. For jon boat, I think there's a big difference between welded and riveted. I met a guy with simple but nice jon boat set up. I praised for his set up, he said only if it didn't leak. When I look at the floor, he had about two inches of water! He said he use bilge pump to get the water out.

Can It Tow It? Well
I have 3.8L V6 front wheel drive sedan. I have a modified inflatable boat which probably weight somewhere around 250 lbs. I bought a utility trailer from Harbor Freight which weighted around 250 lbs + 50 lbs so for the deck. I put my gear bag and everything probably around 550 lbs total. With this set up, I am okay, but I do feel the weight when I am going up hill in slower speed. Now you are talking almost three times more than that. I'm no towing pro by no means, but if I were you I would not even try this. It is just too much of load for the car. It is too dangerous. In addition to transmission, I would also worry about the breaks. If you already have a hitch, you can just try out and find out, but if you have to get one, it'll cost you $120 for the hitch if you can install yourself. (I paid $200 for hitch installed and $50 for wiring which I installed to save a little.) One thing thou, maybe your trailer weight's a lot less. If you put a pictures up, folks here can guesstimate the weight better...just a thought.

Striking S11... Get the Amber if you have to choose one as I believe has the widest range of use out of other color choices.

Do Bass Feed Every Day?
I know you were asking about feeing, but from fisherman's point of view, you have to remember they bite for more than one reason...hanger is one, but they also bite out of reaction just because something passed by and bite because they are mad etc.

How Can I Become A Better Overall Bass Angler?
Do you have a local pop-mom type of fishing shop? Sometimes they know a lot about local ponds because they talk to many locals and willing to give tips to customers.

Went Back To Bank Beating - What Did I Do Wrong?
So deepest you could reach was 6 ft out of 50 ft deep clear water lake. Not sure the time of the day of if it was sunny day. If you meant fishing from a boat when you said "old way of fishing", I would definately exercise that option mext to,e so that I can target different depth, if I were you.

Can't Decide Between A Kayak Or A Jon Boat
I went with an inflatable raft. Kayak was not a good option for me because of prolonged sitting, high rate of wakeboarder traffic and getting wet asspect. Jon boat wouldn't have worked because I had no place for trailer back then. About occasional company that you mentioned...I was thinking about the same thing when I bought my boat. Turned out I wasn't fishing with someone as much as I thougth. Looking back, I would have been better off with going with something like Sea Eagle 285, easier to launch, no problem standing. And when I want to take someone with me, just go to some place with rental boats. Sleep on it for a while before you jump.

Kayak Trailer
I've been using Thule roof rack for many many years for camping, skiing, windsurfing etc. Depending on the car and type of roof rack foot, the max weight limit is different, but I see people with two kayak all the time. I just bought a harber freight trailer for my inflatable boat. It's taking long time to assemble and modify. If you are like me not knowing anything about trailer, allow yourself lots of time to figure things out as you build. The instruction doesn't tell you much about things like proper way to tighten or pack bearings. The grease fitting broken on me. The coupler malfunctioned. Took me for awhile to figure this one out. I almost brought the couple back to harbor freight tool. I'm now working on decking part and I am almost there. I agree with others, if you can get away with roof rack, go with the roof rack. Simpler, easier and cheaper.

Bass
Thanks for the nice read flyingmonkie. What I don't get is despite this kind of study there are places that they allow having some heavy tournaments weekly at same locations.

Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth First Test Today!
I don't know how you guys hold your rod, but I put my ring finger (w/o ring) in front of the trigger. I feel my middle finger is a bit restless in the darker part of the cork. I'm thinking about shave a bit of matterial off there to make a bit of groove for better gripping and smaller profile around that area.

Only thing I didn't like about ordering to them was because they are in California they have to charge sales tax to the customers in California. Now I am moving out of the state, it will be tax free. Sweet!

Removing Stripped Screws From A Reel
Oh no! I was about to buy dremel and take the head off. Have you tried that route? For the screw, I called Shimano and they sent one free of charge. (Still waiting). I did a quick search, nothting came up on amazon or ebay.com. It came up on ebay uk site. I'm guessing this is not sold in US? If you have one, where did you buy it?

Daiwa Tatula And Curado 300E
Many times people mean 'feel heavy' when they say 'heavy'. I for one not super impressed with Tatula (reel). Don't get me wron, It's a good reel, especially you can get it for around $100, but I think it was a bit of too much hype. This is just my opinion, if its worth anything... And yeah, that 7'8" setup 'should' outcast the other, no suprise there.

Convince Me To Use Flouro?
Ok makes sense. So we are basically talking about float vs sink, bow vs not bow. I agree. Less effect in shallows and more effect in deep.

Convince Me To Use Flouro?
I went from mono to fluoro for a couple of years and now almost all braid. I didn't notice about flouro's more slack line sensitivity than braid. But why is that flouro is more sensitive in slack line? I mean flouro is dense, but it stretches. So lets say a fish pulls the end of line a bit, the amount is reduced more with flouro due to more stretch in the line, isn't it? I watch line when I do slack line. I seem to be able to see the line move just fine with braid. And possibly the fact I line watch might be the reason I didn't notice about said slack line sensitivey of flouro, because I am seeing it before sensing it. BTW, to op, one thing I miss about flouro is because it sinks, it produces less slack with bottom contact baits than braid which floats.
