  1. Haha I like the pic of the bass thumb! Gotta love some bass thumb!
  2. You probably need to adjust the tension knob.
  3. I have had great success with them this year in large ponds with no shad population. I use green pumpkin and watermelon variations. They bit the fluke pretty good while on beds, but the action has gotten ridiculous this past week since the bluegill spawn started.
  4. I think he meant there is someone in those concrete boots!
  5. If I had to guess, around 70-100 with the biggest going 6.2
  6. Like Dwight mentioned, hold your rod tip to the side at around 2 o'clock and twitch it back to 3 o' clock.
  7. If standing is not a priority, I'd recommend the perception sport pescador. Great starter platform
  8. I agree with ww2. The S11's are a good bang for the buck. I got those in a dark shade because I will use them more during the day. For low light hours, I got a $10 pair of amber lens Berkeleys that get the job done.
  9. As has already been suggested, use the xl on spinning gear and for more finesse techniques. The xl has better memory and a waaay smaller diameter.
  10. I listen to music when I'm fishing for cats. Bass fishing, I'm too concentrated for music.
  11. A huge reason that kayaks are so popular now, at least down south, is our extreme lack of rain these past few years. Some lakes around me are only accessible by kayaks now that the boat ramps are far from usable.
  12. I'd probably have to say weeds. Although,my most productive spot to date is a man made rock wall in an almost featureless pond.
  13. A medium light to will handle them just fine, provided you aren't in heavy cover. Just don't try to swing one into the boat or on to the bank like you might with a heavier rod.
  14. I fish in a lot of lakes and ponds like this. Some of them I know a resident, and some I don't. While I don't condone anything illegal, I've never had any issues that ended with the police. I have, however, talked to 3 HOA presidents, and as long as I agreed to release all fish and keep the place clean, they had zero problems with me continuing to fish there.
  15. It's because guys (myself included) get bitten by the tackle monkey and buy waaaaay too many baits/lures. When I find a good deal, I can't resist sometimes. This equates to tons of tackle, some still left unopened,
  16. X3 on the pescador. This is the kayak that I am currently paddling, and I have nothing but good things to say about it.
  17. I think the heavy gauge flipping hooks connected to the 50 lb braid that you just winched them out of a bush with will do more damage than a belly flop in the water.
  18. The uni to uni knot is very easy to tie and what I use for tying leaders to braid.
  19. That was awesome seeing that bass just barely nibble that jig. I doubt your son felt it, right?
  20. Let people spend their money however they see fit. There are many worse things one could spend $150 on.
  21. Get you some powerworms.
  22. Very nice stripers but 30 # strippers seem a little light lol!
