  1. Cl8 clacker swimbait or a hudd 68 weedless or two or the bbz are a few good starter lures or a 7-9" ms slammer will get your feet wet in the swimbait game
  2. yea i got a few glides I'm ready to try. probably have another month before it warms up enough for them to be effective
  3. have you caught any on the deps yet?
  4. Love a 4" berkley split belly or a keightech on mine
  5. I have paid more for baits than the two listed most of those purchases have paid dividends in bigger bass plus i like to collect them.
  6. So whheather you like jerkbaits or cranks or swimbaits or frogs post up your collection. my addiction is swimbaits here is some of my collection my rat box glides and hudds are in the boat ill try an get pics of them later
  7. I've seen that it does look like it'd be killer on summer bass around docks
  8. Id say a solid 8 is a believable weight
  9. a bottle of mend it will help prolong your keitechs
  10. youre gonna love that wake jr. My wake jr is one of my best producing swimbait. I want a 316 fs myself but i never have the coin when i see one available. i have a killer instinct gill and a killa 9 glide I'm anxious to try and a roman made negotiator i aquirred in a trade i wanna try too. also got a trap rat and house mouse for some summer night fishing.
  11. Berkley has the beat shad and a ppwerbait swimbait very similar to the keitech on tw also lunker city has the swimming ribster which is worth a try.
  12. Hey guys i got out on mlk day to fish a bit and it was a tough bite out there. no one was catching much. i hung a few small fish and a decent stripe but the bite was really inconsistent and i believe west point is expereincing a turnover from the below average cold temps. Hoping by February everything straightens out and we get a warming trend to get those fish moving towards the spawn
  13. Got out today for a little bass fishing. it was tough with a little over 1' of visibility and water temps in the high 40's i started the day off at the local marina and a few spots showed my black foot ball jig some love but after leaving there it was a real struggle. Right before i left i stumbled across a school of hungry stripers and hooked up with a pretty one in the dd range. she ingulfed my glide swimmer so when i got her in the boat she was bleeding pretty bad so i released her quickly so no pic of her. but all in all just thankful the lake isn't froze and had a chance to get out and wet a line
  14. That was a mouthful
  15. At times it can be an effective jig trailer but i prefer beavers to be t rigged and i pitch it or flip it cast it drag it shake it or dead stick it it all depends on what the fish want
  16. Yea love it when they almost rip the rod out of your hands
  17. I'm a swimbait junkie dude when the bite is on ill skip work just to catch em. i always just throw them back in. i love catching those big stripers in the river. I've heard of people keeping them and selling them.
  18. Yea i know how that is. i sometimes fish the banks and leave the boat at home. never fished goat rock a buddy of mine says there's a lot of gar down there. One weekend if you get a free day you should head up to lagrange. and we can go out in the boat.
  19. Headed to the lake tomorrow its a little muddy but hoping the muddy water and warmer weather will get the bass active.
  20. Caylub, fished the river a little bit today caught 7 short fish and one hybrid. all caught on a black jig with a saphirre paca craw trailer. in the main river channel all positioned below a log jam. the river is still muddy but not as bad as it was a few days ago.
  21. Welcome chuck. I'm from lagrange. fish the hooch quite a bit below west point and harding. great group of guys here with a lot of knowledge on everything.
  22. I'm from lagrange fish west point and lake harding and the river in between. I'm familiar with lake oliver and the river by the riverwalk in columbus never much luck on big bass there but I've caught plenty stringers of catfish.
  23. Looks to be the rapala x walk in rusty craw color if it has to little flanges on the tail its an sub walk never caught anything on one
  24. Omg those gummi bear reviews i lol'd like 15 minutes straight.
  25. It is heavier both weight and sink rate on thr rof system i would probably rate it at rof 7-9. Its just too much free movement in the tail for me jerk a little too hard and it spins 360 and fouls and its not as easy to keep in a desired depth range through out the cast. it may just be that I'm not quite adjusted to how it fishes yet though
