  2. Sorry wrong words, In the BPS mag. they labeled it the "Anaconda snake" but here's a link to this crazy 16" worm..
  3. Here where i'm at in northern Wisconsin we're covered in ice on the lakes and i'm an avid ice fisherman.. But I do trap large quanities of minnows (shiners, mudds, slippery jacks) so I am kind of curious to see how they react in my own test to coffee grounds. As for seeing how they work being fused into plastics, can someone give me some guide how they think I should go about it? Just take some different styles and types of plastics and put them in a bag with coffee grounds?
  4. When you say coffee scent, could you just use straight coffee grounds on your hands?
  5. This is kind of irrelevant, but have you seen the 16" Anaconda baits? That just sounds way to big for any bass to be wanting in my book.. 10" is about the biggest worm i'd ever throw..
  6. So I just got my SK rage craws and they have a sticker that says "Now exclusively with coffee scent" and I've seen SK coffee tubes too.. So does this scent attract fish? And if so... Is there anyway to replicate it? Like can I throw some non scented plastics in a coffee grounds and it'll help? Anyone ever try some homemade coffee scent idea?
  7. 1 oz rooster tail?! How long is that? I've thrown Mepps #5 's ad caught bluegill to my friend getting an 40inch musky on it.
  8. I guess everyone's 4 lures are more based on their confidence with them. I personally bring 60 baits on every trip, and probably only throw 4. Not because I don't think my others can catch fish, I just gave more confidence in these.. Swithmick Rattling rouge 5" in blue/chrome Rapala rip n rap in hot mustard Mepps #3 spinner with yellow bucktail and red/gold blade Yum F2 5 inch straight tail worms in green/red flake You'll probably notice I don't list spinnerbaits or jigs.. Probably due to my lack of time using them and not as many hours logged and fish boated with my other 4 lures,
  9. Clack n rap isn't my style personally, I'd rather go with the rip n rap.
  10. I see most people have either flukes or an jig.. Both are pretty versatile baits.. Both of which I haven't used much in my time of fishing.. I'm surprised no one said any buzzbaits, or an go to spinnerbait
  11. I love power fishing, red eye shads are a killer bait. They come in so many colors too.. I usually fish them with either the yo yo retrieve or just rip them over the top of weeds and its one heck of an reaction bite.. My go to lure though is Rapala Rip n' Rap in hot mustard.
  12. Yo-yo retrieve. lift rod up, then let bait flutter back down... I love rapala rip n' raps and SK red eye shads.
  13. So your buddy and you have to take just a basic 3700 tackle box each to an lake of another buddies choice. You can ony take 4 lures and two poles/reels. What would you take exactly?
  14. I've always heard people talking about how much fun it is to tie their own jigs and catch fish on their own product. Here in WI these long winters also mean lots of time on my hands to start to learn and get to make a few handfuls of these.. Anyone have any advice on how to start tying these or an video? After Christmas ill order the necessary tools to do these... Any help is appreciated!
  15. I love seeing WI bass fishermen.. I sometimes think its like a lonely world up here compared to down south where every one is after the monster bass in ponds or just about anywhere.. I'm about 2 hours east of lacrosse right on the Wisconsin river. I haven't thrown jigs ever, just planning on starting this spring but I really like the orange skirt one, looks like a nice pumpkinseed/bluegill. I wish I knew how to tie jigs!
  16. How long of an fluro leader is everyone using?
  17. What's the best jig fishing line? For medium thick cover i'd say.. I've heard people swear by yo-zuri hybrid to 50 # suffix 832 then some say fluro? What are everyone's preferences for about 3/8th's - 1/2 oz jigs.. Thanks for any advice!
  18. What makes megabass pop max so expensive? I know i'm not catching an incredible amount of bass on my hula poppers but they work.. Do the pop max have something added to them??
  19. I know fluro is the 'Sinking' line and people always say it makes cranks run deeper than braid, but how much deeper? And how much does the # test matter on how deep it was to run? Anyone have any numbers or charts or theories on this?
  20. I'm in northern wisconsin and its not clear water, will the float and fly even work? I have a crick by my place that is loaded with 4lbers -6. I've only caught them on wacky senkos but this rig intrigues me.
  21. I'm hearing all this hype about this as being a killer smallie rig, but is it really? I can't come to grow enough confidence that it'll catch the huge river smallies I want on those little jigs? And how do you work the rig? slowly reel in while its out under a slip bober? Anyone have any advice or comments?
  22. Its a stained/murky water, will those light jigs even have a big enough profile to be noticed really? I just paid the 3$ for a bitsy bug strike king but it looks really small compared to all these jigs I see all the pros using. I'm lost when it comes to all the variations and colors and jig heads I can use and aplications of each.
  23. I'm on a tight budget (Aren't we all), but I'm looking to buy some bass jigs but not wanting to pay the 4-5$ for 1 jig off basspro.com.. Anyone know any good websites to buy from that have quaility? Or anyone have any jigs willing to part with for a trade? Cole
  24. You don't have to be super specific, but just wondering if im close to you!
