  1. Love me a 1/2oz spinnerbait
  2. Lmao the commercial for that product drives me crazy! But it looks like a decent product
  3. Thanks for the Info! Sounds a lot betterthan the berkley vanish I've used haha
  4. Started to frog fish two days ago, was out from 6am-10am. Went 3fish for 24 blow ups. One of the fish was a 12" small mouth haha. I know I have to wait till I feel the weight before I set the hook. But I swear I saw bass just hitting the thing and not even opening their mouths. Anyone else ever had that happen? Despite not landing a lot of fish, I think frog fishing is super fun!
  5. Took it to a local reel guru and we eliminated spool play by tightening spool tension but he said he's had other reels with a little play and he said mine will do fine just now but if it does get worse he's put a spacer to stop it to others people's reels. Thanks for the help guys!
  6. Got the reel out for the first time today, the handle and spool have probably a 8th or more inch of play and they shake if I jiggle the reel? Any idea what this will be? I plan on callin lews if I can't figure it out because its a obvious problem and I looked at the ones in stores and they don't have any play.. Any ideas?
  7. I have seen "Arkie" brand at my local Walmart. Don't remember the price though.
  8. 10 minutes later, it works like a charm! Thanks everyone!
  9. Gosh you guys are good, it's spooled straight braid.. Thanks for the help!
  10. Hey everyone, just got this reel a day and a half ago off eBay brand new in box and since I couldn't get out on the lake I decide to pitch to cups in my yard. I read online this reel has 14lbs of drag and I plan on using it for flipping/pitching. I go lock the drag to see how hard it is to pull line out and locked down I can pull line out with ease. I compared it to my abu black max 2 and the b max I can't move an inch. What's goin on? Should I return the reel and call lews? I'm not impressed... Please any help would be appreciated. TYG
  11. I want a 8' avid!!! I'm jealous
  12. Have the same problem! No confidence in my pit bosses by docks or anything but if I throw a 1/2oz spinerbait, I have been just catching them like crazy..
  13. Sweet video!
  14. A.) Reel faster and keep above the weeds (love doing that and so far this late summer it's great for me) B.) I don't think you can make them more weedless than already are, the arm an blades will pick up lose weeds like any bait...
  15. I've had good luck With spinnerbaits lately.. As long as I have my trailer hook
  16. Was down at the hydro dam today doing my morning musky and small mouth fishing and I just got done throwing some 9oz rubber baits for musky and then threw a twister and jig head and hooked something crazy big. Thought it was my musky so my friend got the release gear ready and the net and after about a 15 minute fight on 8lb trilene XL on a 6' ML rod. We netted this beast. It was a 28" sucker! No clue to the weight but it was huge! Released it and swam off right away.. I love the unexpected catches like this. The net doesn't do much justice to the size because most people haven't held musky nets in their hand..
  17. What kind of line are you using? Try unpegging the weight if its pegged
  18. Don't get me wrong, as a musky fisherman in northern Wisconsin I've caught small and large mouth bass with a .029 diameter wire leader that's 174lb breaking strength and 12 inches long.. But look up fluorocarbon leaders. You can get just any size you want length wise and poundage. Stealth Tackle makes very quality fluorocarbon leaders for toothy critters.
  19. Is the tournament mg the big 95mm handle really awkward since its bigger?
  20. What's the difference from the MG speed spool for 80$ compared to the normal 100$ speed spool?
  21. Yes, nothing against TW (there products are just as good) but I love helping out a local mom and pop shops.
  22. The 100$ one on tackle warehouse, how does everyone like it? Might snag one up at the Labor Day sale...
  23. I just can't get them to catch fish like I see EVERYONE else do. I've bought coustom jigs to stock ones, rages to paca craws and I just can't consistently get bit.. All the jig fish I catch are honestly when I'm throwing them off my friends dock for fun and all little bass... I mainly only fish a 170 acre lake loaded with bass. I throw on a jig and pitch docks for hours and nothing, then I try grass and weeds and catch a pike or two or maybe 1 tiny random bass but never anything.. In a month I plan on ordering from siebert to get just my last ditch effort to catch bass on jigs. I'm looking for some advice on all around jigs or just what you'd use. There's so many options and I've read the pinned section on jigs an everything but still feel like I'm not catching like I should be.. I'm fishing all less than 6ft of water, most of the bottom is Eurasian milfoil covered, around and under most docks is rock/sand. Few scattered laydowns. Clarity wise, I can see the bottom in 3-4ft of water with my s11 glasses on. Bluegill/pumpkinseed is dominate forage forsure. Can someone just help me and tell me what I'm missing? Or point me out to a few jig colors and head types you'd use in my situation that you can buy from siebert? Thanks a ton guys..
