  1. How does the fish know if I'm using a loomis or ugly stick... I think it's more about timing, place, and presentation than rod and reel. I get outfished by Walmart stuff a lot. I'm no master angler though...
  2. I have a few clear water war eagle spinnerbaits and I just love them. Otherwise I use lots of SK bleeding bait chart ones
  3. Looks clean and like it'll work, looks like a lot of work, but like any plastic worm it'll catch fish... Hope it works for you!! Goodluck!
  4. I bought it this spring by the advice of fellow BR members, I love it. Super versatile rod, I love it for spinnerbaits, jigs, lipless, worms, everything. Super good rod in my opinions
  5. In the musky world all those reels I see are popular... I bought the toro winch 60.. I see a lot of guys love the Abu Garcia NaCl in 5.4 hear ratio...
  6. IfI there weren't people like you, there would not be fish in the lake. I'm glad you did what you did, it was the right thing.
  7. I have mepps #5 Agila in fire tiger blade and yellow bucktail in every bass and musky box I own. They are fun to fish and flat out catch em. Mepps rule!
  8. Part of it is, when people fish for money or just don't wanna lose a fish, they like the assurance of heavy line and know it won't fail.
  9. How I got into fishing: 4 years ago I used to hear all my friends talk about walleye fishing so I thought I'd go with them. We went under a bridge in town, being 12-13 years old shore fishing was all we could do. My friend let me use his 20$ rod ad reel combo and a mister twister and jig and somehow I caught a 16" keeper walleye and I was surprised as all heck and stuck my fingers in his mouth to find teeth. A week later I found my dads old 6'6" Shakespeare ML rod in the garage with 20year old mono and took it to the river around my house and sat under the bridge and casted my mister twister and jig combo for 10 minutes then I thought I got a snag because my rod was bent in half and I wasn't moving it. I started to reel in and I knew then after my rod pumping up and down it was a fish, turned out to be a 3lb smallie. I spent the next 3 months reading every fishing book in the library and watching bass fishing videos on YouTube from after dinner till midnight... I will never forget the feeling of that ML rod bending in half.. That's why I bass fish.
  10. I love braid with FC leader because I can snap the leader if Im snagged terribly.. And a 6' FC leader I can put on in a little more than a minute I think.. I'd rather lose 6' of expensive line than loosing 60' of straight expensive FC line... Just my .02
  11. The mega bug looks like the small creature bait I'm looking for !!
  12. Musky fishing?!!!?! Take a Mepps #5 and go slay bass and muskies galore... I've fished the back of a boat with a guy over a dozen times and I've seen him catch 4+# smallies 4+#largemouth and last week he boated 3 muskies on this lure.. Given we are fishing bass with 140lb fluro leaders and 80# 832 braid with musky rods and reels...
  13. I'm no pro who can cast lipless cranks 60yards, but the action and power of your rod helps cast certain baits better. Glenn says he pitches and flips to cups in his back yard to practice, I practice casting all the time across my yard. Distance comes in time. Accuracy is key
  14. Musky fishing is the reason my wallet is always empty. Everything's so expensive.... A 9' 1-4oz rod sounds like a heck of a good musky bucktail rod... I use a 8' fenwick ET For mine..
  15. And if you were to go casting, I bought a powell diesel rod off fish ranger for 50$ and it's an amazing rod..
  16. Instead of using the double take hooks, can I improvise with one single 5/0 EWG hook? Would it be dumb to throw these to docks??
  17. Thanks for the opportunity !!! Congrats zach!
  18. Whenever they pop up here on the flea market.... That's usually the best deal I've found
  19. Well said CP, just be thankful for the opportunity to even have a chance to win.
  20. Mepps #5 and tubes always do me good here in Wisconsin ... I'm in the northern part
  21. I'll be 16 on sept 12th! Haha... Ill go 54
  22. Girls underwear on a casting spoon by a old diving platform in the lake..
  23. Mepps catch every fish that swims... Love spinners
  24. They're one of my favorite baits to fish. Always catch fish on spoons.
  25. I hate spending 4+$ on imported jigs that I don't care for, siebert outdoors has sales often and I bought a bunch of Big O jigs for 3$ each and the brush head is my favorite head ever.
