Raul, good idea. I should work on that before my next long roadtrip. Bluebasser, nope, no sliding glass. Gulfcaptain, none of the rods I took were over 7 foot, which is about the longest that the bed of my truck can fit. But I basically did the same thing you described. The bed of my truck was full of snow when I left, so I wrapped all my rods together with a trash bag covering the reels and kept them all together with some rubber bands. It probably wasn't necessary, but I'm kind of paranoid about my expensive (to me) gear. I only had to make one pit stop, and I made sure it was in a nice area in a suburb that my brother used to live in. I just left my gear in the bed of my truck while I hit the bathroom quickly. It made me nervous, but I doubted anyone was going to be looking to steal gear out of a truck in the snow, in a nice neighborhood. On the way back yesterday, I randomly decided to stop at hooters and watch a little football. So I put them in the cab, with just about 4-6 inches of the rods sticking out the passenger side window. Everything worked out, and I had a really nice trip. We fished a power plant lake Friday, and the bass just weren't biting. My buddy hooked a really nice one on a jig, but it somehow got off. But 3 of us caught almost 100 crappie on Saturday, and we kept enough of them to have a great meal that night. To summarize, the rods and reels were fine in the back of my truck, and the one time I knew I was going to be inside for a long time I put them in the cab with the tips sticking out the cracked window. I am going to consider using Raul's idea though.

Good call man. I think that's what I'll do. I could even crack the window a little and let the tips stick out while I run inside, as long as I don't accidentally hit the power window button before I get them out.

I did a quick search, and am not sure if this has been answered.. I drive a small pickup truck. The cab is tiny. I've always just throw my rods in the back, but that was for pretty short distances. I'm going to be driving over 2 and a half hours with them this evening, so there is a good chance I might have to make a pit stop. Obviously I don't want to leave my stuff in the bed of my truck while I'm in a gas station bathroom, travelling alone. I think they would have to be bent to fit in the cab. Is that ok? Thanks. And sorry if this was a dumb question.

All I have to say is this: Jeremy Maclin is on my fantasy team... and his last catch just bought me a new fishin rod.

I use mine for just about anything with treble hooks. I've never tried it with spinnerbaits, but the idea isn't too appealing to me.

1.5 size squarebill is my #1 bait from the bank.

I haven't read through the entire thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned. But did anyone see the refs STEAL a victory from the Chiefs? That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen in my life on the review.

Since we're talking about who's beaten who, let's not forget that the Seahawks lost to the Chiefs (as did New England) who are also the only team to lose to Oakland this year. That being said, I don't know who's going to win this game.

Do they even have largemouth bass in North Korea? I mean, they're native to the U.S. and we don't trade with North Korea. I imagine a largemouth bass over there would be the equivalent of Cuban cigars in the U.S.... If anyone is even allowed to fish there.

I shop online. I like to go in Bass Pro on a normal day and just wander around. But dealing with crowds on black Friday, nah. I actually didn't get any gear on black Friday this year. I got a deal on a Lews reel a couple weeks ago that was just as good as a black Friday deal. So my remaining money is going to a tv.

That's my approach when I'm fishing small lures like a roadrunner or beetle spin. I just go for whatever bites. Catch plenty of crappie, bluegill and even nice bass on them.

When I'm a fishing for bass with cranks, I like to change up my retrieve a lot until I figure out what they're interested in that day. And I've caught a lot of crappie accidentally while doing this. So that would also be my approach if I was targeting crappie with them.

My local conservation guys don't even ask me for my license anymore. They know I fish legally. I've seen them hand out some hefty fines though.

I've been a little bit curious about this myself, because that deal on the Tourney MG is tempting me.

If you're keeping them for yourself anyway, it might be worth a try to sell some for a few extra bucks. As other commenters have said, just follow the local regulations.

I have no idea what you mean by "your source". So that kind of confuses me. But if you're asking about doing anything dishonest, I doubt anyone around here is going to encourage it.

Their first game against Oakland was the closest the Raiders have come to winning a game. Not a good sign.
