  1. I have powell diesels, powell endurance, falcon bucoos, falcon caras, all-star asr, dobyns champions, and loomis glx rods of all the ones I have the falcon caras are my favorite of the rods I have but there is alot of different rods I have yet to try.
  2. Do you have a link Im curious what it says about other regions.
  3. This is how I tie except I run through the eye of the hook twice.
  4. The palomar is the easiest knot to tie in my opinion thats why I love it.
  5. I dont really set the hooks with a treble its more of sweeping motion to load the rod. I also run my drags really lose win fishing baits with treble hooks to the point when I set the hook the drag slips most of the time. 8# line will be no problem on a citica e I use 20# braid on one of mine thats equivelent to 6# in diameter with no problems.
  6. What kind of troubles are you having with the polamar its all I use.
  7. The Scott Martin challenge is probably my favorite show because most of the shows are on the lake I fish.
  8. I bet it was a baitfish devouring pig with a massive appetite.
  9. Congrats on the sweet little set up. That thing will take you everywhere a big boat will and more.
  10. I dont think it matters much. I do cut one point of the front treble hooks on my topwaters especially on zara spooks or any walking type bait.
  11. This thread My stomach is burning Im lauging so hard.
  12. Yep most of my rods are over 7' except one and its about to be replaced. I like the extra leverage Im also 6'1 so a 7' topwater rod even works for me.
  13. I think micro guides are better but not everyone agrees it definitly debatable. I like fast with braid I feel there extra fast isn't needed.
  14. Im looking forward to all the northerners going home and the lake being less crowded as it gets hotter.
  15. My go to bait consistenly produces and has since I started using it. So its hard to switch baits. What is odd that my dad and I like the same bait but different colors we both fish the same water and both catch fish on our colors but he wont use the color I use because he has no confidence in it even though I catch just as many fish if not more then he does with my color. He even tried to use the color I use and after like 20 mins he was switching back to his.
  16. The only flippin rod you listed that I have tried is the mojo and I can say it was horrible heavy in general and extra heavy in the tip. My neighbor got one and hated he gave it to me to try for a weekend I also hated. He sold it like a week later.
  17. No I go fishing whenever I get a chance. Like yesterday I fished in 20-30 mph winds in the rain and still had a good time.
  18. I have never seen a skiier or wake boarder on the lake. My favorite time to fish is April-June. I have caught spawning females as late as June this fish was caught on 6-11 last year and look at the belly its also the size of the head for how short the fish is It looks like it has some killer genetics It will probaby be a huge fish in a few years.
  19. Great post! Thats one of the things that I find really interesting on forums is the diverstity in bass fishing across the nation.
  20. I dont use trailer hook hardly at all I feel they kill the action of the spinnerbait. I rarely fish a spinnerbait fast Im usually just slow rolling it in. The few times I have used a trailer hook is when fishing a spinnerbait fast and Im getting short strikes.
  21. A curado e and chronarch e weigh the same. I do agree though the the only shimanos that stand apart from the rest are the cores and chronarch d's
  22. I also use the BPS extreme bag for most of my soft platics. I use tupperware containers for the two baits I buy in bulk and I just leave the container on the deck when Im fishing its alot easier to dig them out of the tupperware container then go through three zippers to dig them out of the BPS bag.
  23. +1 with no leader if Im using the spinnerbait in open water I will use 20# braid. My rod of choice is a 7' MH-fast
  24. Just got back from Lake O about an hour ago it was blowing 20-30 still had a decent day. If your going to bring any of you own tackle leave the finesse stuff at home.
