Transporting Rods
I always carried mine in the cab but my ranger had a sliding rear window. I would just lay the passenger seat all the way back and put the reel end torwards the floorboard and rod tips out the rear window.

How Valuable Is A 'nice' Rod?
Maybe because I live in Florida but my Costa are the most important thing to me I can hardly go outdoors without them. The rod your only going to use while fishing the sunglasses you will wear everyday.

Two Questions
I never hold my line We fish 2 out of the front of the boat (18' alum) when flipping/pitching because the way the boat sits low in the rear it makes flipping/pitching a pain especially when your way in back in the reeds. Or when we are fishing a narrow cut or canal and each person takes one side of the canal/cut.

Bank Fishing - Chunk Rock
A double weed guard jig is nothing really new. They have been using them in S.Florida for a several years. One of the local tournement anglers dad actually was the first to make one. They work really good in the slop and heavy hydrilla.

Weighs Too Much?
Ever since they banned gill nets the snook fishing here in Stuart has improve drastically. I lived on the south fork of the st. lucie for my first 20yrs of my life.

Regular Vs Micro Guides
On a spinning rod I would get regular guides I dont see how micro guide would benefit a spinning rod. I like micro guide the guides get hung up on stuff less. I find that pitching/flipping is where micro guides really shine IMO they are more accurate and will pitch further. In a normal overhand cast I dont think there is much of difference. I have two exact rods the only difference is the guides they even have the same line and bait. If I close my eyes I can tell them apart and pick the micro guide everytime.

Are There Some Baits You Just Won't Use?
Alabama rig to much work and not very effective in this part of the country. C-rig just boring in slow I like to fish for fun and C-rig is not fun. I dont even own a senko not sure but they dont do anything for me I stick with regular worms when I rarely do worm fish. My favorite bait is a soft swimbait rigged weedless.

Do You Prefer Light Tackle Or Heavy Duty Gear For Bass Fishing?
+1 I fish lake okeechobee 95% of the time an finesse fishing isnt really a viable option. My friends laugh at me when they see my bass tackle is heavier then my inshore snook tackle. I think pulling a 5-8# bass out of the slop in Okeechobee is harder then finesse fishing you cant give the fish a inch or he is so buried in the grass you will never get him.

Bent Or Curved Handles On Baitcasters
Read my post above post #33 I have actually measured the distance of the knob to the centerline of the rod there is no difference. Of course if you put a straight handle on a reel that is intended for a bent handle its going to stick out a 1/2" further because the mounting surface is further away from the center of the rod then a reel designed for a straight handle. Now if you put a bent handle on a reel designed for a straight handle you might see a difference. Every reel I own with a bent handle the handle mounting surface is further away from the rod then my reels with straight handles. I have lews, abus, shimanos, quantums, and diawas I measured them all. And the difference is no where near a 1/2" maybe a 1/8" difference at most. What manufactures do I feel is move the center out for whatever reason and put a bent handle so it looks cooler and sells.

Braid Spools?
I fill about half tha spool with mono backing that is about the same size as the braid Im using then fill the 2nd half of the spool with braid. Doing this I usually get 2 reels filled with a 150yrd spool.

Bent Or Curved Handles On Baitcasters
I honestly think its just a marketing gimmick. Just like the amount of bearings in a reel is a marketing gimmick. Its all to catch the fisherman not the fish.

Braided Line
I have been using straight braid for 5yrs atleast and have never snapped a rod but I dont swing for the fences on a hookset its not needed with braid. I also only own one extra fast rod I dont like the way they cast and when using braid there is no need for an extra fast rod. Your also not going to get any shock absorbtion from a 2' piece of flourocarbon the mono might give enough stretch to make difference. Its all about what works for you. There is alot of people out there that use straight braid with zero problems.

Which Reel To Buy?
I would step up to the revo sx just because how much lighter they are then the revo s,citca,or lexa. If you shop around you can get a sx for almost what a revo s msrp price is.

Bank Fishing - Chunk Rock
Texas rig worm with the lightest weight you can get away with is my favorite when fishing in rip-rap.

How Often Do You Change Line?
I get around 2 yrs out of braid before it gets low on the spool from retying. I have never had an issue with braid breaking down yet. Every rod I use has braid.

Rod Shipped = Broken Tip.
I made the mistake of ordering a rod from amazon also it was the only place that had the rod I wanted because it was discontinued. The first rod was lost in shipping after like day 2 so I called them and they sent a 2nd one. Well both were delivered the same day one was complete the other was in 3 pieces. Im still in disbelief how the 2nd made in one piece. They ship their rods in 2 regular rectangler cardboard boxes taped together so they where long enough for the rod.

Braided Line
I use either the dark green power pro or the timber brown slick 8. It really doesnt matter what color you get because it all fades to a light color anyways. I have never used a leader with braid. I think people give bass to much credit sure the might see the line but they dont say to themselves oh look a line lets not eat that bait. If treble hooks and split rings dont scare them away I dont think a little line will. I have always believed this but after seeing the success they have had with and umbrella rig further proves it. A-rigs have 5 big wires coming of them and the fish still nail them.

Bent Or Curved Handles On Baitcasters
If you measure a reel with a bent handle front the back of the knob to the centerline of the rod and you do the same with a reel with a straight handle. I willing to bet you will be suprised there isnt any difference or a very minor difference. I know on my shimano curados/citica 200e's its the same distance as a lews tp with a bent handle. I measured myself the lews has a bent handle but the mounting surface is further from the center of the rod which negates the benefit of a bent handle. You can only get so close most reels are limited by the spool tension cap getting in the way of the drag star and handle.
