  1. I have found braid cast easier and definitly is easier to get back lashes out of. I use 30# braid minimum on baitcaster any lighter the diameter is to small and I have problems with the line digging into the spool to easy.
  2. I tried the bass pro shop type they worked but not the best. The type ky warmouth posted work alot better.
  3. I have mostly shimanos and lews about a 50/50 split. I love the shimano citica/curado e's but since they discontinued them I have been switching over to the lews tourny pros and abu stx' reels.

My sister works at a dermatologist and after hearing about all the horror stories of people having cancer carved off their face you bet I wear one. I also wear long sleeve shirts. I have been thinking about some gloves does anyone recommend a nice glove that isnt to hot or bulky.
  5. Im just the opposite I use 6.4 reels because they help me slow down. I have hard time reeling slow I have one speed when reeling and its fast and with 7.0 gear ratio reels I feel like Im fishing way to fast alot.
  6. I wish you could vote for more then one.
  7. Ive used yellow rocket fuel and hot sauce. The hot sauce is a little thinner and faster then the rocket stuff. I use hot sauce on my light weight rigs and rocket fuel on anything over 1/2oz. Cals drag grease is all I have ever tried and it works so I stuck with it.
  8. I use straight braid but 95% of the water I fish is stained and I fish alot of heavy cover.
  9. I have used both the slick 8 and the 832 there is very little difference between the two.
  10. How long did it take for yours to be delivered? I have been waiting on mine for a month and a half.
  11. I like the PP slick 8 its a lot quieter going through the guides. I have checked out the samurai and it will probably be the next braid I try Ive tried about every one of them. So far 832 and slick 8 are my favorites.
  12. I have the diesel cranking rod and love it. What kind of cranks are you looking at using?
  13. Nice fish I catch alot of big bass in really small ponds. Look at the on in my avatar it went over 9# in a pond I could cast across in one direction and half way across in the other direction. I can cast to every every inch of the pond from shore.
  14. I have ordered close to a dozen rods from them and have never had a problem. What I noticed they do on the rods is attach the handle end of the rod to the outside of the tube with a piece of tape so the rod cant slide forward in the tube and break the tip.
  15. No brand loyalty here I have shimanos, abus, lews, and quantums reels a diawa of some sort is next. I also have several brands of rods powells, falcons, dobyns, all stars and gloomis. They are all good just some are better then others in certain areas and worse in others.
  16. I researched it a couple of months ago and found the info on a different forum. I got mine from the tackletrap.
  17. Thats one downside to the powell diesel there is no warranty. I have been using powells for several years including the max and endurance rods never have had a need for a warranty.
  18. I ordered a rod during their 20% off new years day sale and it took 2 weeks to be delivered.
  19. TW has some of the best shipping there is. I always pay for the $5 2nd day shipping. I buy most of my tackle from the tackletrap if they dont have what I need I go to TW.
  20. Another vote for the power diesels great rod for the money. The lightning shock would be my second choice.
  21. I have it and love it alot smoother then regular power pro. It does fade but no more or less the regular power pro.
  22. I use a falcon bucoo amistad its a 7-3 heavy fast
  23. Before I even put line on a new reel I clean it and relube it.
  24. I have the champion 766 paired with a lews tourney pro and its probably the best balanced flippin set up I have ever had. I was really suprised how well balanced it is for a flipping stick
