  1. Enlighten me
  2. In a place like that, would you guys use Fluoro or braid? Not to hijack the thread, just wondering.
  3. My setup is a shimano curado 301 spooled with 30lb p-line sitting on a LDC XH rod. I can easily throw baits 3.5-7.5oz
  4. Inline spinners will catch bass and trout. I would start there.
  5. Thanks for all the responses!
  6. So bottoms covered with sand and logs would be good places when they meet the weeds? Right? The hard bottom in this lake consists of small pebbles around the shoreline and stumps/sand in the open water
  7. What about when the weeds meet a stump/timber field?
  8. More and more, i am seeing tournament anglers in grassy lakes pitch jigs in shallow water only like 5 feet from their boat and catching toads. In the lakes around here, the water is clear and absolutely filled with huge submerged weed beds that are incredibly healthy and I know hold very big bass. However, these weed beds are very large and i am not sure what exactly i should be looking for to attempt this fishing method. In other words, what is the distinguishing factor that should limit the areas i fish rather than spending hours to dissect 1/16th of a large weed bed? Is it bottom contour? What makes this method effective? I really want to give it a try because i can directly apply it to my lakes but I'm just not exactly sure how to do it... Thanks!
  9. My swim bait rod was here in michigan and it was 70 dollars round trip to ship it down to FLA and back up. Do i regret not brining it? Yes but i think it will me more productive and i will enjoy using it more in MI. Sometime in the future i will ship it down.
  10. Wow! What swim bait this time?
  11. I'm a big fan of that show. Can't stand that Tyler kid on the Pin Wheel...
  12. I have met Mike Iaconelli and Roland Martin. Roland signed a hat and picture for me, and Ike gave me some baits for free!

    Isn't magabass an expensive popper…?

For me, I have seen places where a zell pop will catch 20 fish and the pop-r simply won't get touched. Expensive poppers outproduce the cheaper ones IMO.

    Xcalibur zell pop
  18. Nice video. Over the years I have become more patient with frogs and my hookup ratio now a days is d**n close to 90-95 percent
  19. It has to have that pronounced wiggle on the fall. Other than that, no.
  20. I see where you're coming from, but some swim baits are definitely reaction baits. Burning a TT through grass is just one example
  21. Oh yes, in fact there are days I'm targeting largemouth with frogs and end up catching a majority of smallmouth. Some BIG smallies can be caught on them.
