Some people are in a hurry for an answer and don't take the time to post in the right forum. It happens.

For Those Who Didn't Know
Booyah makes some good ones for cheap. That head slides through the rough stuff with ease. Pretty good hook too.

I believe the 50 is a smaller reel with smaller line capacity.

Chronarch Ci4
It's a great reel, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed fishing with it, but there was always some issue popping up with it. My first STX felt like it was bound up, so I swapped it and it's flawless. My first SX had an issue with the spool not engaging after a cast, a swap later it's flawless. Had I swapped my S, it would've been 3 times and that's absurd. Got a Chrony instead. I kinda miss my S though.

Gen 3 Winch Brakes Makin Noise
It's that gold ring in the side plate. Get a q tip and some alcohol and rub it around there. After, I always take a dot of oil and stick it on my finger and rub it around there. Not too much though, just a VERY thin coat. You don't wanna tighten those screws too much. See if the part that's screwed into the side plate has any wiggle to it. If not, it should be ok. If you tighten it down too much, it makes putting the side plate back on the reel a little tougher. Any burrs or anything on the ends of those brake tabs?

Rod/reel Combo
Whatever you do, make sure you get a reel with centrifugal brakes, or mag AND centrifugal brakes. Casting is fool proof with either set up.

Gen 3 Winch Brakes Makin Noise
That has the Infini brake system right? Like the STX? I'd say it's either the brake race is dirty, or the screws that hold the bearings/brake race to the side plate may be loose. Did you try to click on 2 different tabs to see if it still made the noise?

Good to know. I'm so used to MH-Fast rods, that anything else feels like a noodle.

Which Shimano Crucial For All Around Use? Help Me!
I saved almost $20 between that coupon and sales tax lol. With the medium/fast tip, is it gonna look like I have a 5lber on when I'm reeling in that 6XD or will it be ok??

1St Post And Your Advice On Which Rod
The Veritas is a nice rod, BUT you have to watch and make sure that the guides are lined up properly before you buy one. Especially if you opt for one with the micro guides. I always refer to the Veritas as "the most awesome piece of junk ever", because it's so hard to find one that has good guides, or to keep the clear coat from peeling off the blank. I've jumped through hoops to get a good one, and I really enjoy fishing with it. Just make sure you visually inspect it before you lay down the cash. Definitely go with a Veritas over a Sellus IMO.

Me too lol. Every REVO I owned has been swapped out at least once. I will say that the Chronarch feels much better made than the Revos, but it could be because it's heavier lol.

Figures. I just bought a chronarch e6.

Rod/reel Combo
I have my *** paired up with an Abu Gen 3 STX and it's a great, lightweight combo. The STX will run you $199, but if you shop around it can be had for around $160 and it's a STEAL at that price. It's light, user friendly, and has a dual braking system that let's you fine tune it for any lure weight or fishing conditions.

Which Shimano Crucial For All Around Use? Help Me!
Just went to BPS and they had the 7'MH M/F crank bait rod. I really liked the feel of it, and it's not very thick which surprised me. I hope it has plenty of back bone, as it was rather whippy. I came home an ordered it online from TW so I can't wait to try it out once it arrives. I was tempted to just buy it today, but I had a $5 off coupon and saved tax which is 9.75% here.

So for cranks go with the 7'MH with the medium fast tip correct?
