  1. I learned on 12lb mono, but no I use 10# Yo Zuri Hybrid and 12# Seaguar Red label fluoro. 2 inexpensive, but great performing lines that you should look into later on. Get some KVD Line and Lure conditioner, as it really makes all line except braid more manageable.
  2. We have plenty of healthy bass here on Douglas, as evidenced by the insane weights the pros were pulling out during the Bassmaster and PAA series, but you get idiot locals or noobies that don't know how to handle fish properly.
  3. You are correct. I googled "Saprolegnia" and found this http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/users/wdaweb/blog/catch-and-release-a-few-ways-to-do-it-properly-13304.aspx It doesn't surprise me, as people out here don't know how to properly handle a fish once it's caught.
  4. Excellent post. Some guys on here act like overzealous hall monitors when it comes to what's posted or where.
  5. Yeah it was on Douglas. I've never seen this before. It looked like it had brown moss or algae all over. You could see it kind of flow in the water as it swam.
  6. The STX I will miss. By far the best one of the 3 I had, and definitely neck and neck with the Chronarch. Had I not gotten a deal on another Chronarch, I was gonna pull the trigger on another S since they were so cheap with the sales going on, and hope for the best.
  7. It wasn't wounded I don't think. Just had this crap all over it. It reacted to a skitter walk but never went after it. My wife even hit it once on accident walking the bait over top of it and it didn't react at all. The bass was also very dark as you can see by the pic.
  8. The braking system in that reel is fool proof. Start with 4 on and go from there.
  9. Americanlegacyfishing.com if anyone else wants to snag some Shimano gear. 15% off shimano even though it says it excludes shimano. Just enter the code memorialday15 AFTER you click check out or it won't work.
  10. I would be disappointed if I DIDN'T hear the end of it lol. I can't believe I'm Revo-less now. All 3.....gone. Darth finally got Luke over to the dark side. Now who's the ?
  11. $174.99 shipped. Also got a 7'2 MH Crucial XF for $135 shipped.
  12. I have a few that I use when I know I'm gonna have a greater chance at getting them snagged and losing them. I'd rather lose them than my RES or Xcaliburs.
  13. Ok one more thing to ask: Would I be better off with 10# Yo Zuri Hybrid or 12# Seaguar fluoro for keeping the bait down?
  14. I do this with lipless cranks, flukes, and spinner baits when it's windy.
  15. I'm waiting on a call back from a retailer now. Hopefully I can sway them lol.
  16. No problem getting a revo or Lew's on sale. That tournament pro looks nice....
  17. I heard they are awesome on the back of a swim jig too once you trim them down some.
  18. Yeah I saw that every place that had a sale on excluded Shimano. Might just snag another revo.
  19. Awesome.
  20. If anyone knows of a place that has them on sale let me know ASAP.
  21. "He" doesn't know what you are talking about. Revos......yay!
  22. I have a "friend" that would like to pick up another Chronarch, but I...I mean "he" can't find anyone online that includes them in their sales. Does anyone know of a place?
