  1. That's a right handed reel.
  2. I ended up buying a pack of Eagle Claw Dual Lock Snaps size one. I'm tired of wasting line tying and retying cranks and whatnot so I figured I would give these a try. I'm assuming it's better to remove the existing split ring on the cranks to not mess with the action correct?
  3. Whats the perfect size speed clips for 1/2oz RES and XRK50s? What sized for 5xd and 6xds do u use? Thanks.
  4. That spring is designed is to keep that screw pressed against the brake side plate so if the screw backs out, it won't allow the sideplate to fall off during a cast. Just make sure that screw is buttoned down tight every now and then, and you should be ok. I'd maybe try to get it back in some how once more though.
  5. Red Label bathed in KVD LnL is great and gives that line virtually no memory.
  6. Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness was released in 95. Cool story bro. Can't believe someone actually fell for that story. I got some snake oil to sell that guy.
  7. that screw holds the brake sideplate to the frame. No big deal if the spring is gone. ideally u want all pieces back where they should be but this isn't catastrophic.
  8. It doesn't affect the performance of the rod, but I've got $15 Shakespeare rods that are years old and have been heavily used that don't have the issues the Veritas does. I understand it's "only" a $100 rod, but there's just no way it should have the QC problems that it does.
  9. Revo S. Quality reel that casts a mile and just plain smooth all around. Best money you'll spend on a reel. I say that while owning a new SX and STX.
  10. The S is fool proof. You can easily throw 1/8-1/4 baits/lures while using the pitch brakes. Fool proof.
  11. The S is fool proof. Click on 2 of the spring loaded brakes, set your spool tension and you're good to go.
  12. I've had that noise before, but found out a few of my guides were dirty.
  13. You cannot go wrong with the S. Best $129 you'll ever spend.
  14. An SX is a great reel for casting lighter baits. My gen 3 is anyway.
  15. I use a 4/O keel weighted hook for the roosters. The hook fits that bait perfectly.
  16. The veritas is the most awesome piece of junk ever. My battles with that rod are lengendary.
  17. It sounds like a fat chick running around in corduroy pants.
  18. While I like the look of micro guides, I've noticed that if I'm fishing slop or muddy water the guides get mucked up and I can hear my line rubbing on all that debris. I didn't notice them improving my casting distance, nor did I notice dirty guides affecting the distance either. Just an observation.
  19. I've been using Seaguar Red Lable 12# treated with KVD LNL, and so far 0 problems. Good, cheap line as far as I can tell.
  20. This is the only sound I ever hear when I'm watching fishing shows, or the guys in MLF.
  21. I had an issue with 2 Red eye shad, and they sent me 6 of each along with a SK hat. GREAT customer service. Glad they took care of you.
  22. I gotta get me a rod to throw this on. The PAA guys got huge bags using it on Douglas Lake.
  23. As much as I like KVD, and considering we are from the same city and state, I just can't get enough of watching and listening to Greg Hackney. That guy is an absolute blast to watch fish. I really like Denny Brauer, Shaw, and I've really taken a liking to Takahiro Omori as of late. He seems like a good natured guy, and he flat out catches them. Tommy Biffle has a strange humor about him that I like as well. Kriet is another favorite, even though he has a beef with KVD, and I love me some Ish Monroe. I think the MLF format has really done wonders for the pro's popularity, as we really get to see their personalities come out.
  24. The Lexa 300 is supposed to be pretty good, and I think it's $199. They also have the T3 Ballistic for $249, but the review that Tackle Tour did was unimpressive. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
