  1. Well, I looked them over for awhile, and honestly.....I didn't feel they were better than the STX, nor did I think the Premier had a better braking system. It's lighter thanks to the carbon fiber handle, but I've heard a lot of feed back on the IVCB braking system and seems more people prefer what the STX has to offer. I can throw anything my STX. For lighter weight baits, I turn off the centrifugal brakes and go all magnetic. For heavier, ditch the mags and click on 2 brake blocks. For spinner baits in the wind, 2 brake blocks and fine tune the mags to prevent back lashes. There's literally nothing you can't throw on the STX, and it's $100 cheaper than the Premier. That's my 2 cents.
  2. Do a vid with that little piece of the tail clipped off. Supposed to have better tail action.
  3. Anyone try these on a scroungers jig head or a sworming hornet? Seems like a good bait for both.
  4. For general casting? IMO yes. I have the s, Sx, and stx and my sx gets used the least because it's not as user friendly and as forgiving as my s and stx. Mag brake only reels are harder to master imo, and they don't tolerate sloppy whip like casts like centrifugal or dual brake system reels. If you're new to baitcasters, you want centrifugal brakes or centrifugal and mag brakes like the stx. Mag brake reels are awesome for flipping and pitching though.
  5. You want centrifugal brakes. Much more user friendly. Much more.
  6. My rods aren't very old. One was purchased in March, was fished 3 times, and somehow the coating was peeling. It doesnt affect performance but for $100 I expect better. Especially when I have crappy shakespeare excursion rods that still look new after years of use.
  7. Revo S and a Veritas can't be beat for a nice combo that wont break the bank.
  8. Anything and everything. They are all pretty much general purpose set ups. Lighter weight stuff gets thrown on the sx and my spinning reel though.
  9. Still Counting by Volbeat is a darn good bass fishing song.
  10. The wife fishes Daiwa baitcaste reels. She has an older BPS Extreme reel she uses as well. Has them paired them up with 6'6 mh berkley rods and some 7'mh abu rods. No "fairy wands" for her.
  11. For anyone with $100 to spend on a rod, there's no reason to give your money to Abu now that *** is around. The ***.....WOW. Great rod.
  12. I've had epoxy around the guides crack, clear coat peeling, and guides that look like they were put on by a blind man with no hands. That being said, if u go through the hassle of getting a good one, they are awesome rods. Just inspect them closely before u buy.
  13. No one uses the subwoofer? Crap. I figured that would be a hot bait to use.
  14. I'm going Lew's if I stop using Abu gear.
  15. Wow. I would've handed him his a$$ if he had messed with my stuff. Several times over.
  16. Abu Revo S and a Veritas 7'MH micro guide rod is the way to go.
  17. Responsibilities definitely get in the way of your dreams.
  18. If you have an Academy, be sure to check out the ones they carry. They are very nice, have all sizes, and are priced CHEAP. Very good quality, like everything in the H20 line.
  19. Plain and simple, it's awesome. The S is a great reel period. What the SX was to the Gen 2 Revo line, the S is that to the Gen 3 line. I have the Gen 3 SX and STX, and the S will not be outdone by either. It's buttery smooth, decently light, and casts a mile. I can't say enough about mine.
  20. All of mine were the older models too and still were crappy lol. Maybe this one will hold up better?
  21. Yeah they were good about it thankfully. The girl at customer service said it's the most returned rod too. Breakage and issues with the guides is what she claimed.
  22. Yeah my mistake. Guess I can't count anymore lol.
  23. Shelly Sanders needed to get a little thicker, but she's a major hottie either way. Sucks she wears so much clothing....
