Me and the wife just watched the extended version, and I just have to get a season pass. The amount of extra info and tips in the extended version are well worth the money to me, and I just flat out love the MLF format.

That would be up to you. I had a gen 1 vendetta and really liked it, but I like the V2 better. Even lighter than the original.

The gen 1 is a good rod. The gen 2 is a tad lighter and less tip heavy, and a little more true to it's power rating. For $30, the vendetta is a steal.

Holy crap is it sweet. Paired it up my Gen 3 STX and it balances out flawlessly. When I checked out the *** at Gander, they seemed a tad tip heavy but not too bad. Paired up with my STX though I don't even notice it. Feels so light and crisp. Here are some pics so you can see these 2 paired up and to show where it balances out at. Very happy.

Veritas and *** Black get my vote.

I have a few Boogee baits and a few chatter baits, and I have yet to get a fish on any of them. What's the best way to fish these? I'm sure the OP wants to know as well.

I've got 2 Veritas rods, and neither feel or behave any differently than the other. That's pretty strange, but given Abus QC issues with the Veritas I don't doubt that there are differences. You should feel blessed you got one with guides that are actually straight, and not spiraled around the blank.

Are you using the same line type with this new one?

I heated my reel grips with a hair dryer to make them softer and more flexible and they went on my Revos easier. Glad u got them on your lew's.

My wife is awesome. She won the lunker award in a tourney a few years ago on Douglas lake. She's a surgeon with a bait caster and the trolling motor. Couldn't ask for a better fishing buddy. She's easy on the eyes too. I'm from Michigan and she's from Kentucky, so she thought us Yanks couldn't fish, and talked a ton of trash at first. That didn't last long though lol. Now she knows.

I'm not just scared of the cheaper Quantum reels, I'm also scared of the higher end stuff like the EXO that I really thought hard about getting. Quantum sponsors some of the biggest names in the sport though, so Qs can't be that bad as I'm sure these guys wouldn't lend their name to junk. Maybe I'm naive though.

I'm scared of Quantum reels, but that's just me. The reel you got has outstanding reviews though. If you're happy with it and have faith that it will last you, then that's all that matters.

No need for an ipad. Just use phones and text periodic updates or weights to the marshals. The scale issue....I'm not sure what you would do there unless you had a "master scale" that used at the end of the tourney to get final weights. Everyone would have to agree on that of course. Let marshals use whatever scale they have to give unofficial weights, then use the master scale at the end for finals.

Youtube is an outstanding tool for learning new rigs or techniques. Watch all of the videos you can, read every article you can, and then slowly apply what you've learned out on the water. There are way too many resources at our disposal these days to not know how to use everything in our tackle box, or to be intimidated by using new techniques or lures.

The coolest looking RT bait in the water has to be the smokin' rooster. Looks awesome, but the fish in my lake hate it. I guess I gotta go with the Rage craw or the Rage grub. The grubs are an awesome trailer on just about anything.

I'd keep them the way they are.
